Then he told me he wanted to get an x-ray, which didn't seem to make a lot of sense for a muscle injury. Coincidentally, the MD owns an x-ray machine. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail? After the x-ray, which showed nothing different than previous MRI's provided him, he tells me probably a sprain or strain, to rest for one month and c/b for a new appointment if still not better. Yes, tennis elbow does not sound serious, but they do have a fancy name for it and the pain is substantial. Dr. Hazelrig gave me a cortisone shot, which was not too comfortable. Once I recovered from my cortisone flareup, my elbow felt brand new. Unfortunately, my elbow decided to act up and the tennis elbow pain returned. Reluctant to get another shot, Dr. Hazelrig suggested laser treatment. He was going to send me off sight for the service but realized my medical insurance would not cover it. I think he felt sorry for me, so he decided to laser me up in his office. There has not been enough time passed in order to know if the lazier works, but I do appreciate Dr. Hazelrig's efforts and the fact he administered a treatment he felt would help me. These are the things I like: 1-Dr. Hazelrig 2-his staff 3-the fact it is a one stop shop (x-rays and all) 4-fast and friendly service 5-communication From my past experiences, I find it difficult to find a doctor I like. He fielded my questions and explained what we were looking at on the xray. We saw Dr Park for another child's (yeah, active kids! or clumsy...) thumb injury. We had previously gone to our pediatrician and were sent elsewhere to get an X-ray. The Radiologist there (Peninsula diagnostic imaging) said there was no fracture. Dr Park requested us to have another X-ray done in house and he was able to identify a fracture. Dr Park has a ready smile and my pediatrician mentioned he is one of the few specialists around who take the effort to write the PCP a note to update our Dr on the diagnosis. Love it when your doctors can work together! I love finding out more (which bone? can you show me on the X-ray?) and Dr Park didn't volunteer details. But he also didn't hesitate to answer the questions that I posed. Shout out to the assistant Veronica! We had a shock and some issues with billing from the medical equipment company for a brace. She went to bat for us and managed to speak to them and renegotiate. This was above and beyond her job requirement and I am really grateful.

Based on the X-ray result, Dr. Pyka recommended us to see another Ortho ASAP instead of waiting for him. Gary referred us to a couple doctors and followed up with us multiple times. Luckily he didn't end up having surgery up there, but he needed to get immediate care once he was back home. Thankfully Dr. Bolanos office was able to accommodate us with an appointment within the week following his accident. We went in for his appointment on a Thursday and Dr. Bolanos explained to us what options he had following the accident, but it was pretty clear surgery was the best option. We didn't think Dr. Bolanos would be able to do his surgery until about 2-3 weeks after the first initial appointment at least, but to our surprise he was able to fit him in his already very packed schedule the following Monday! Surgery went great, and post op instructions were very easy to follow. My boyfriend is still doing the very last of his physical therapy and has had an amazing recovery due to Dr. Bolanos entire team! From his very friendly and helpful administrative staff, to his PA Brittany, if it wasn't for all of you my boyfriend's humerus fracture would have been a much harder experience to deal with. My sister highly recommended Dr. Dirk who performed shoulder surgery on her 10 years prior with great success. Many thanks to his office staff for squeezing me in during this ordeal. Dr. Dirk surprised me. After spending time moving my shoulder, he determined that I did not need an x-ray or MRI. He was certain I didn't need surgery. He asked me to follow his instructions carefully, and in 1 day, the pain will lesson, without taking anything strong than Advil and Tylenol. I thought he was crazy!
