The service is excellent. The waiting staff are polite, informative and do everything they can to make your experience pleasant. The food is beautiful. I normally grab either a chicken schnitzel or the roast of the day, and they are always really well presented and taste wonderful. A bit on the expensive side (with mains starting at $23.50), but it's a great place to go with family for special occasions. Make sure you book in advance. You can now book through their website, too.

Everyone is so friendly, and because a lot of the people who come here are members of the RSL, you see the same familiar faces time and time again so it feels like a tight-knit little community all on its own. As a member, you get really good discounts on drinks at the bar plus other special offers in the restaurant like a free meal in the restaurant on your birthday. There's also a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine and a biscuit jar that you can help yourself to for free. This is right next to the pokies machines so it must be to help keep everyone's sugar levels up whilst they're gambling their savings away. Apparently they put on quite a New Year's Eve event here as well. Good times. I just think this place is cool for taking care of my folks and making them happy.

Hidden away in…read morea corner of Knox City Shopping Centre's Knox Ozone, it is a small venue which has the energy more commonly found in venues of the inner city. Among locals it is called "The Irish". A traditional irish pub in every sense it sports dark wooden furniture and a few booths at the back - perfect for a catch-up with mates. There are little nooks and crannies in every corner with all kinds of seating from bar stools, to benches to seats that double as small tables. Service is quick, but not quick enough when it comes to keeping the place clean - it is pretty grimy and the chances that someone will spill a drink on you are pretty high so I would caution against wearing your best clothes. Dress code is smart casual - just keep it simple. Entry is only $5 and drinks are relatively cheap too which is always a good thing. The place is busiest on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights and because of its size is packed full pretty quickly. There is an outdoor smokers area, which is tiny but it doesn't seem to deter patrons from crushing against each other in order to secure themselves some room out there. The dance floor is tiny but again, when there is a will there is a way and there are a lot of very willing dancers here. Patrons range in age from the very young to the very old although there tends to be more males than females.

Are you being dragged to a movie you know isn't going to be any good without at least a couple of drinks in you? This is your place. It's just across from the cinemas, so it's got a pretty decent location. The bar staff are pretty friendly, and you rarely have to wait long to get a drink. There is plenty of seating to sit down and have a quiet one with a few mates. There's plenty of pokies too, if that's your thing. I won $20 a few weeks ago there. The décor is pretty normal suburban pub style. In a nutshell, it's pretty relaxed, comfortable, convenient if you're going to the cinema, and most importantly, the beer is cold.

At that sort of time, it's quite surreal. The bar looks and feels as if it's open at 5pm on a Wednesday afternoon, yet it's getting to the wee hours. Very strange. I would have described it as a sports bar. Perhaps this is because I've never actually been in one, so seeing a large number of men all camped inside watching the soccer at 1am on a Monday morning is a pretty good indicator to me. It gets definite props for being open at said time. I like to run away from my house and go on late night adventures, and unfortunately my only option for food/drink at that time of night is McDonalds. Nice to know there is somewhere I can go for a quiet sit down chat and a cup of tea/cider if I'm awake. I don't think the staff are especially cluey (but then again, I'm spoilt by city bars). The decor reminds me of an airport waiting lounge and there's a huge emphasis on the gambling. It's still a nice place to pop in to, though, and to forget the world outside for a little while.

The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and they handled a bad situation quite well ... Initially everything was going smoothly; the food came out promptly etc. But then when the mains were due to come out, there was a hefty delay and other tables received their orders before us who placed ours before them. Then ours came out in drips and drabs. I figure the waitress might have forgotten to place our order, however, before we got upset that this was taking so long, they already offered us a round of complimentary drinks. When the food eventually did come out, it was all delicious. I must say, some of the items are a little pricey for what you get, but the taste made up for it. Their cheesecake was one of the very best I've had, but looked different to the pics on social media, and was pricey for the small size. When we went to pay the bill, they took 10% off also to make up for the inconvenience, which goes a long way with me. The good will they showed us, meant that they were genuinely sorry, and I'm very happy to go back again. I love their varied menu, and again, everything was really tasty. I loved the decor too, and parking was easy enough. I think overall, it's a great place for dinner with friends or family and though they got quite busy, it wasn't excessively noisy, which I also like. Happy to recommend eating here, as it became a good experience overall.

I actually suspect that this is located in the section of Melbourne that was known as the dry zone, which is why there is a huge area to the east of the city where there are absolutely no pubs. However, this is a wine bar, and yeah, it wasn't great, but at least they had some nice beers on tap.

Pear, walnut, arugula, and balsamic glaze with a garlic base, every single flavor stood out. The bar manager, Josh, is great. We went to one of their free tours (6:30 on Thursdays) and it was filled with loads of information. It was tale-telling and process-learning amongst fellow beer appreciators, and home brewers. Once you are done, the bartenders are more than helpful in making sure you get a beverage that you will enjoy. If I was closer to this area, I'd make it a point to come back, and to try their pulled pork (Friday's only!).
