At the end of 10 weeks lessons, my son is able to play Ode to Joy on guitar and my daughter plays 4 different pieces at the recital. Staff and kids wear masks the whole time they're inside. Staff are friendly and approachable. They're responsive to email inquiries. Overall, I give Villa Musica a perfect score!

Nate is patient, encouraging, and knows exactly how to make lessons fun for kids. My daughter went from barely holding the guitar to confidently playing songs, chords, and even creating her own little melodies. He made learning enjoyable while still teaching solid skills and music theory in a way an 11-year-old could understand. We're so grateful for his guidance. Thank you, Nate--you're an outstanding teacher! Highly recommended for any young student.

I'll start by saying Samuel was a good guitar teacher. This review is not about him. My problem is…read morewith the ridiculous policies and complete lack of flexibility at this place. I'm active-duty Navy. One night, I got called in at 2 a.m. because we needed to take a sailor to the hospital. I had a 10 a.m. guitar lesson the next morning, and obviously I had no idea how long the situation was going to take. I called at 2 a.m. to let them know I wouldn't be able to make it. You would think an actual emergency like that would be a pretty reasonable reason to reschedule a lesson. Nope. They wouldn't give me a makeup lesson. Their solution? A video lesson. Seriously? If I wanted video lessons, I'd go on YouTube. The entire reason I'm paying more for in-person guitar lessons is because I want to actually be there with a teacher, getting hands-on instruction and learning techniques in person. I was extremely frustrated, but I decided to let it go and move on. Then, just two weeks later, I had a school meeting regarding my child on the day of my lesson. I notified them on Tuesday that I needed to reschedule my Friday lesson. That's several days of notice. Once again, they refused to reschedule and once again offered a video lesson as their solution. At that point, I was done. I completely understand having a cancellation policy. Businesses need policies. But having absolutely zero flexibility for an unexpected military emergency or a situation where a customer gives several days' notice is ridiculous. What makes it worse is that they seem to think sending me a video is an acceptable replacement for an in-person lesson. It isn't. If I wanted to sit at home and watch videos, I wouldn't be paying extra for in-person instruction. Unfortunately, this experience made it very clear that the company cares more about enforcing its policy than working with its customers. As an active-duty military member and a parent, I need a little flexibility when legitimate emergencies and family obligations come up. Apparently, that's too much to ask here. Samuel was a good teacher, but because of the company's policies and the way they handled these situations, I will not be coming back and I cannot recommend this place.

She spent about fifteen minutes per student and even asked for our feedback throughout our lessons. She took her time helping us nail the high notes and achieve proper breath control in songs that are harder to sing. The best part, of course, is the performance at the bar. Each week leading up to the bar trip, we were given tips on how to interact with our audience and how to not just sing but how to give a performance. We also get to dine with the owners who are very passionate about their music school. I love it! I'd recommend taking the class, especially if you have anxiety about performing.

Looking at the "then and now" photos (then age 5, now age 12) makes my heart smile. We went from using a simple keyboard, to making the decision to haul my childhood baby grand across the country from my parents' home, because my children really love music. Khoi sets realistic expectations and teaches to each child's ability. He encourages them to practice, be committed and do their best, but isn't too strict or stern to make them want to quit. One of my children is naturally more gifted at piano than the other, and Khoi never makes the child with less natural ability feel badly. He always stresses that it's not how advanced you are, it's how the music makes you feel when you play -- if it brings a sense of happiness, joy, peace, calm.. and you're enjoying it, then that's all that matters. Khoi is a wonderful instructor and we feel so blessed to have found him so many years ago. He has helped cultivate my children's love of music and our family really loves having the beautiful melodies from the fill our home
