On the two occasions I have been, I have had the Angus Burger with Salad and Fries and friends have had Sandwiches and Toasties. I've also tried the Fish & Chips which were lovely. For a cafe, it is a little pricey, however, a percentage of proceeds go to the Erskine Hospital for Military Personnel therefore, I am willing to pay a little extra for what I order. The food is of high quality and the cafe is always busy when I am in, a great sign of a good place. When the cafe is very busy, service can be a little slow but that is to be expected when the staff are run off of their feet.

The staff were lovely and they offered the full Starbucks selection. I ordered a Hot chocolate with cream as I've had bad experiences with Starbucks chai latte before. It was nice, the cream part especially, but the hot chocolate not so much. I'm not sure what it is, whether it's just a bit dark for my tastes but it's not for me. I got one of their pre-packages breakfast buns, which was...adequate. There were very meagre fillings and the bun was a little on the stale side. It also cost £17 for two hot chocolates, two sandwiches and a packet of caramel waffles... Great for convenience, and this branch it's self is a nice space and great staff, but I will continue to avoid Starbucks in general.

All in all a bit...meh! Their food also, not very imaginative, often the fillings in their sandwiches just not being all too satisfying for the taste buds. However it does serve a purpose and this time the purpose is caffeine and a bite to eat as I had taken up some voluntary work in the nearby animal shelter. It's a quiet branch, as it's on the road out to Dumbarton. However in the handful of times I've been in there's always cups on the tables that haven't been cleared away and there's always weirdly a lack of food. The choice is normally fairly limited and I've had to settle a few times for whatever is there for lunch, but my most recent visit there was absolutely no food. None. It was 12pm and I had no sandwiches or salads to select from. I even asked on the off chance if they were maybe hiding some in the back. I was told no they were busy and sold out. (As I look out across the empty branch) In most cases I'd probably accept that it's a one off, that indeed they were busy in the morning, but given that everyday I've been in the selection has been really low, I'm not too sure. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is there's one girl who works there who is chatty and I appreciate a person who is engaged with their customers.

Lots of local traffic popping in for coffee and cakes, especially lots of cyclists so it can be difficult to get a seat. I've picked up take away cake from here before for friends and its went down well. There is usually one gluten free cake option. This time we visited just for coffee which was good. Order at the till, pay and staff will bring to your table. They also have a licence do organic wines available as well as innis and gunn on draft. Good addition to Kilmacolm and worth checking out.

Odd to review this place as it's situated in the building I work in but as I eat there every day…read moreit's about time I covered it. For a while R34 was a restaurant and got good reviews for the quality and style of the food. It was open on Friday and Saturday evenings and the press cuttings on the wall suggest it was initially successful. Unfortunately the location has been the restaurants downfall. After the initial flurry of interest they've slowly and surely cut back the opening hours to the point where, today, they are better viewed as a budget restaurant or meal focused cafe that is only open during the week (and office working hours at that). The food is ok. Open for fairly standard breakfast offerings (think roll and sausage or toast) and at lunch there is a choice of three hot dishes, as well as a sandwich bar, soup of the day and a scattering of cakes. Due to the location, the bulk of the customers come from within the building (like myself) or another nearby office. Most afternoons will see some people popping in for a, reasonably good, coffee. The building warrants a mention, as R34 is housed within the India of Inchinnan building, a (listed) art deco frontage with a modern verdigris and glass dominated extension, which is most famous for being the site where airships used to be built (hence the R34 name). As for the cafe, there isn't much in the way of competition (Erskine and Renfrew not exactly hot spots when it comes to cafes and restaurants) so from that point of view it's good to have something dependable in the local area. If you are passing, and you'll spot the building as it's very distinctive, it's not a bad spot for a coffee or a quick bite to eat. Also, you might bump into me! (wait, that's not a selling point...).

Did not realize Yelp made it to Scotland :)…read more An American in Scotland (albeit for only three days); Was in this building a few weeks a go for a business meeting at our Glasgow Office. We had them cater coffee and tea for the 7 of us and well as small finger sandwiches for lunch. I really love coffee (black) and tea (plain, no sweetener or cream) and usually don't get very good of either BUT have to say they provided what I have to say is the best cup of coffee I have had in many many years, maybe ever. Maybe ever is a pretty strong statement but have to say it was a joy then enjoy. Not too bold, very smooth, totally enjoyable. The finger sandwiches very very good with a very UK'ish selecting of meat and veggie finger sandwiches. Did not try breakfast or other foods while I was there BUT looking forward to a return trip.....

What a pleasant surprise! I had expected a dirty, greasy place but was very pleased to see that it was exceptionally clean and there was one member of staff who seemed to be engaged in full-time cleaning duties of the restaurant. Our food was basic but very tasty, and there was some nutritional info on a leaflet given to us with the tray which again surprised me as it was nowhere as bad as I had expected - my entire meal had approx 600 calories. They also have a drive-in service which is very popular - we watched dozens of cars passing through while we ate. Although I never thought I'd say it, I would highly recommend stopping off here for a very cheap and cheerful lunch - it's a lot better than I expected!
