Many so called farmer's markets sell produce that is grown at various farms around this area yet they market it as their own and charge ridiculous prices. English peas for example. I am a raw, English pea fanatic. When they come in season, which should be any day now, Miller's (they grow their own) sell them initially for roughly $3.99 per pound. Price lowers as season continues. On my first of the season visit I usually buy five pounds or so, I clean them out. Remember too that with English peas there is a great deal of waste as the pod is inedible. Various other so called farmer's markets sell them by the pint or basket. Hello - a pint of peas?? A mere teaser for me. The weight is so minimal that I'm guessing it's about a fourth of a pound or less. These pints are not cheap. Maybe $3.00? I got stuck on the pea thing so let me venture to other veggies. Every product that is grown in their fields is marked as such. They grow corn, tomatoes, green and wax beans, melons, really a wide variety. They also sell things grown elsewhere which is noted as such. I can't say enough about the integrity and quality of this market other than "Stay Away" during pea season or you might be leaving with a stump on the hand that tried to take my peas. This also applies to sweet corn.

Its in a parking lot but you can park there and walk right up. There are a variety of vendors and priced nicely. Natalie's Tamales (Instagram natalies_tamles). Met her at an Yelp event and fell in love with the tamales and sauces. Having southern roots been hard to find a good tamale, but Natalie has nailed it. The pork and chicken tamales are delicious! Like I said the weather was not the best, but I was still surprised at how many vendors were there. Ranging from fresh sausage, fruits, vegetables, sweets, cheeses and wine and alcohol. I met a chef, Chef Scott Bernard. (Instagram goodneighborflavor) He has a stand with balavka, original and brown sugar cinnamon. They both were tasty, the brown sugar cinnamon was my favorite. He was very friendly. He told me he does catering, and four course private dinners, as well as opening a Bistro in Cheektowaga coming soon. I love going and meeting new vendors. It's only $10 per person (plus tax so it was $43 for 4 of us), and there's tractor/wagon rides sitting on hay bales around the pumpkin patch and through the forest, a straw maze, corn maze, cornhole, mini golf, heaps of pumpkins, farm animals, an educational spot inside a greenhouse tent, and pumpkin checkers/tic-tac-toe. For wanting a less crowded spot but doing all the pumpkin patch things, the community FB group was spot on in suggesting this place. Top that with buying butter tarts (pecan was the best - it tastes like mini pecan pie; raisin was a runner-up), some local apples, and gourds, and it's a local farm experience to a T.
