This was such a great recommendation by our Airbnb hosts. This is a small cafe but the staff know…read morewhat they are doing. They know how to get people in and out efficiently without feeling rushed, and they know how to maximize on space. We came in as our first meal off the plane, jet lag and all. We were served delicious lattes and Croque Monsieur. I mean, really this Croque Monsieur was amazing. Our other guests had poached egg. All for a reasonable price. Can't say enough good things about this spot and its staff!

By comparison England needs a big boost (I am trying but I need more help folks....). Anyway back to WofM. We found it on Yelp and it was just around the corner from our AirBNB. It has been around for about a decade and is basically not much more than a hole in the wall. Disregard appearances from across the street - it maybe a bit dark inside but it is clean and the staff upbeat. They serve only breakfast and lunch. We took breakfast - both the coffee and the full breakfast were good and good value for money. I understand why they don't open for dinner - soooo many good options in Edinburgh. However would I recommend for breakfast or all day lunch (I uploaded a pic of the menu) YES! If I am back in Edinburgh and close then I will definitely revisit Review #81 2019

Edinburgh has a lot of really great coffee shops but Leith is the one part of town which I think is…read morelacking in this area. Printworks has the word coffee in their name and are at least making an effort to take it seriously. It uses Monmouth beans and it's better than average but it doesn't really come close to the more serious Edinburgh coffee places such as Artisan Roast, BrewLab etc. Flat white had good flavour but just lacked a bit of depth and precision. I'm always willing the coffee to be great and I'm always just a tad disappointed. There is a selection of paninis and soups. It would be nice if they had a few healthier options, but my chicken and pesto panini had a nice golden crunch. Cakes and pastries from local bakeries looked tempting. Its a small but bright space, pleasant enough for a spot of lunch provided it's not too busy. It's not perfect but for now it's still probably the best coffee your going to get in this part of town so it edges into 4 star territory.

Another bonus is that is close to where I live and work. So I had to go there. And I keep going there every day. This little cafe has a wonderful array of sandwiches, paninis and the soups (usually 2 options on offer daily). I haven't tried their coffee yet, but I'm sure it would be very good as everything I've had from there so far has been delicious. They sell chocolate brownies from Lovecrumbs, and the bread that comes with the soup is from Dough Re Mi (nice artisan bread). The display counter also has various cakes and cheese cakes and pastries... It all looks so tempting that I'm surprised that so far I have only tried the brownie which was gorgeous - but I feel I should try the other stuff too, in equal measures :) Friendly service and nice chat. A takeaway soup (about 300ml) with bread is £2.65.
