We stayed in a one bedroom cabin, with a loft. Things we liked: the fan in the living area, full kitchen, the beds were comfy, friendly staff, ability to rent a golf cart, laundry area, playground and pool! Things that could be improved: thorough cleaning after a pet stay (I'm very allergic to cat/dog dander and stayed in the loft with my toddler and if I didn't have socks on my allergies were BAD due to the carpet), a few pieces on trim kept falling off by the door(which normally I wouldn't care but my curious toddler kept touching the exposed nails), no blinds in the loft and shower is SHORT (I'm 5'4" and was bending down to wash my hair). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I could see how it could be loud for some people, but our cabin was on the non-highway side so we had a quiet and peaceful trip. We would definitely stay here again next time, just in a bigger cabin!

The waterside cabana was awesome and probably our favorite part of our trip. I'd give the cabins a 2.5-3 star because it wasn't the cleanest. The cabinets had some grime on them and the counters. It didn't smell too fresh either. It didn't look anything like the photos which was a little disappointing. I can tell it has been run down over time. It's sad because I feel like a little bit of TLC and keeping matching towels and bedding can go a long way. We were also missing 2 bar stools and I had to ask for them because we were a family of 7 and there were only 4 stools, they were quick to accommodate which was appreciative! The barstools were different and didn't match, not a huge deal! It is a little disappointing when the pics don't look like the real deal. Feels a little misleading. I'd give it a 3 star for maintenance and upkeep in general. Between the cabins needing some upkeep, the decks by the game hall rotting in some spots, the game hall inside needs some TLC just about everywhere. But a little bit of it would go a long way. I feel this place could easily be a 5 star place if they tried just a bit more. Looking forward to trying their other locations. I do recommend this place but I would be mindful of how much the rate is. I think we went during a higher rate period...the value for dollar comes into play here. When you add the cabana and the wristbands for the kayaks, stand up paddle boards and the Lilly pad for our youngest the price can really get up there. Little children like my granddaughter age 3 1/2 would need to wear floaties for your peace of mind but, parents are going to be with their children. My daughter and her husband rented a Kayak to go to the other side where it is deeper and there was a rope swing. My son in law loved that. You can take your own water toys and tubes. It is spring fed and it stays 72 degrees all year. It's still chilly but when you walk around you get use to it and it's comfortable. I have not camped out. We may go again for the 4th and we might camp out. It's very pleasant there. The cabanas are great. Lots of shade in the cabanas and you can grill, there are lots of chairs so you don't have to take chairs unless you want to. You will need to take food and drinks, snacks. All of the cabanas have hammocks which is nice. Beware of rocks though and be sure and take your water shoes so that you can walk on the rocks. There are some areas that are very easy to just walk into the water where the ground is level. I highly recommend this place for a fun family weekend or a fun day.

I have video evidence of the bedbugs in the bed and I was bitten multiple times. I also believe they were aware there were bedbugs on the property and passed it off as a simple "maintenance issue". In addition to this huge problem, they are also unorganized. The staff didn't properly inform me about changes to my reservation. I was sent a last minute email with vital information that they should have confirmed with me via phone call or text. They also allowed me to buy a tubing/kayaking/shuttle wristband during my reservation. When I spoke to an employee on the phone about the problems with the property, she informed me that they were not even operating the shuttle/tubing during the week because it was "off season". I tried emailing the property as soon as this happened and did not get a response. I also called twice to speak to the manager about it. The manager, Rachel, never called me back. Do not stay at Son' Blue River Camp. It was a 0/10 experience.

The "room" we had was overall very clean, just needed to be vacuumed and mopped a little better. I'm gonna give grace on the warmth of the room as the Texas heat is brutal this time of year and air conditioners everywhere are struggling to keep up, it wasn't unbearable by any means but we really could of used a small fan for sure. We loved the huge pool and that they provided pool floats/towels. The pool area had plenty of seating and umbrella's too. There is access to the Comal and there were a few people in it but I got in and got right out, because the water isn't flowing in that area and it seemed a little stagnant. Wasn't a risk I was willing to take. They gave us the best recommendation for a river outfitter/transportation, PaddleTX. Stacey came to the cottages, picked us up and returned us when we were done with our float. He was impressionable and super helpful. Overall I give our experience as a whole an 8 out of 10. Most definitely will be back!
