Stay far far away from this place! If I could give a negative I would. They are a rip off. My daughter still does not have a key fob getting her in the first doors. Also we signed the lease last year, now they want her to sign an addendum adding more money and more deposits. They are about as crooked as can be! I have lived at the Ridge for a year and starting my second. It has been an overall good experience living here. I have had to put in a few work orders but thankfully maintenance was able to get everything fixed and back working in just a few days. I utilize their shuttle every day for classes which in my opinion is probably the best amenity they offer. Connor has always been super nice when I call up to the office and has helped me every time. I would definitely recommend this place to someone for their first off-campus apartments. read more

i cannot stress how much of a mistake renting here has been. the only props i will give them is the decent pricing for the size, but only when you sign during a special. other than that, this place is a joke. wasted nearly two years of my life here. they saw MOLD covering both of our bathrooms during at least 2 inspections and ignored it. they came to "fix" and all they did was paint over it. $50 trash fee for leaving a few bags out before i went into work. work orders barely get acknowledged. bathroom fixtures are leaky. our washer, other than being outright crappy, flooded nearly the entire apartment and has broken twice now. the walls were disgusting and stained prior to moving in and covered in a sloppy paint job that ruined our kitchen countertops and baseboards. the carpet in two of the bedrooms was stained, some of those stains looked like throw up. they don't give you move-in damage checklists so they surely will end up charging for all of this when we do move out. anything to get their money, which you will come to realize is all they actually care about. if you have a problem with anything, they barely provide any kind of help, but they don't miss a beat calling multiple times over $50 left on your balance. don't recommend! read more

If you are looking for a filthy yet cheap apartment way off campus the ridge is perfect for you! The ridge was easily the worst place I've lived. We were here from January - July and there were so many problems. To begin with our lease said our move in day was supposed to be January 1st. Obviously that was New Years so we didn't try to move in until the 3rd. The issue was that the ridge didn't even have our apartment ready to move in. They said they hadn't changed the carpet yet in the bedrooms and they haven't made copies of our keys yet. So we said that was perfectly fine. We waited a couple days and it was January 10th. Ten days after our lease was supposed to begin and we still hadn't moved in. We did get our keys though a couple days prior and checked everyday to see the progress on our carpets. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. After calling numerous times and complaining we had finally gotten the carpet done. IT ONLY TOOK 1 DAY. Why did we wait 13 then. It was the 15th and the Ridge said we could finally move in. We also complained about how we were only living there for half the month and how it is a break in our lease to make us pay full rent when we weren't even able to move in and no one got back to us on that. When we finally moved in they left the apartment filthy. Dust, trash and stains everywhere. We had to clean everything ourselves. We also realized some of our stuff was very dirty including the showers which looked like it had mold and the toilet seat (picture below) was chipped and filthy. (The picture below of the mold below the leaky sink is when we move out though) Also one of our roommates didn't have a bed yet and it took them nearly a week of complaining to give him one. Wifi was also awful, it was especially a problem since most of our classes were online and we lived far off campus. The wifi was so bad you couldn't even play a video game or connect a Roku or even an Alexa. Also zoom calls were a huge deal this semester and my classes were so choppy and the wifi would constantly go in and out. Turns out the wifi they used is ancient and doesn't support Alexa. We tried buying our own wifi with xfinity but the ridge has it own contract with the wifi provider it uses and that makes xfinity or any other internet provider unable to give us our own wifi. We had a huge deal with maintenance while living here. I feel like everyone on the staff just doesn't care enough to do there job. Every time we had a maintenance issue the workers never got back to us until maybe a week or 2 later. The bottom lock on our door hadn't been working for weeks and one of the guys said he could fix it he just needed a screw driver and he left and never came back to fix it. Then there was the whole issue with the flooding (Photos attached below) one night we were all sleeping in bed. No one was washing any clothes but the washer had short circuited from water getting into the wrong places and started filling itself up with water. It wasn't draining the water out either so it was just constantly filling and began to over flow and start to flood. At 3 or 4am the fire alarm started going off and I woke up to my roommate banging on my door. We ran to the washer and tried pulling the dial up (which made it stop washing usually) but it didn't turn off the washer. We then had to pull out the whole washer and unplug it from the wall. The whole apartment was flooded with water. Everyone in the building evacuated and the fire alarms were still going off. We waited awhile and later found out the fire alarms do not notify the fire department but the TENANTS must call 911 themselves. After notifying the fire department, they came and fixed the alarms but there was still the problem with our apartment being flooded. We had called maintenance and notified them of the issue and they said they would fix the washer in the morning. That was fine with us but who was going to help us get all the water out of our apartment? We had to get squeegees and fans ourselves later and drain and dry the water out of our apartment ourselves. Overall an awful place to live. If you haven't signed a lease yet DONT! Invest a little more money to live in another off campus apartment like the Lofts or West Run. Big issue with the ridge is that they don't invest enough money into their properties they invest it all in their super luxury leasing office. The pool and hot tubs were unusable the whole time. I get that because of covid it wasn't allowed to be used but restrictions were lifted and they still didn't make it usable. It was a filthy green and brown color. Also most of their gym equipment is rusty and ancient and the room is hot and not air conditioned making it very humid and uncomfortable very quickly. It's cool to work up a sweat but not just by standing doing nothing. Overall I wouldn't recommend living here. read more

Under new management, HOWEVER maintenance requests are never fulfilled. We had our AC break in August it was not fixed until December. The place was dirty when we moved in. One of the front desk girls is extremely rude if anything is an inconvenience to her day. They yelled at my roommate for asking for a mail key when none of us received them upon move in. Update- there have been people who do not live here coming into buildings because the doors are propped open because in our lease it states we get key fobs to enter the buildings but nothing is done about it. Men are relieving themselves near our cars in the parking lot then going up to their apartments. We have been woken up multiple times due to rude and obnoxious neighbors that party and scream and bang on our doors and our walls all hours of the night keeping us awake. Have called the office about 10 times and still no answer besides the answering service. This might be the worst apartment complex I have ever stayed at. I was lied to when visiting units. They will show something that you will not get. Every time you call them out on something that they should be providing or that you are paying for, they find an excuse to get out of it without further care for you as a resident. The craziest lie might be when I was told I was going to get a refund on a month of rent (I vacated the unit), and I receive a check equivalent to a quarter of it. You can call them for any of your issues, but it will turn out to be more frustrating than anything as they will always find a way to get out of fixing your issue. This was the the single worst living situation I have ever had to endure. I moved into this development on August 1st, 2019 into Building 6 with extremely high hopes; however, the rude property manger and, more importantly, the MOLD INFESTATION completely irradiated any desire I had to live there. I had to move out not two weeks later, with no where else to go but my extremely packed car. It's hard to determine where to begin writing this review. I am a staff scientist at WVU in the department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cell Biology. I got my B.S. in Immunology & Medical Microbiology here at WVU as well, in the very department where I now work. I took 7 samples from throughout my apartment: The air vents, the bathroom ceilings, floors, under my kitchen sink to name a few. EVERY SAMPLE I TOOK CAME BACK POSITIVE FOR FUNGAL GROWTH. I used a lactophenol Cotton stain: this stain will only work on fungal species, so if there truly was no mold in my apartment like The Ridge had told me prior to my move in date, then I shouldn't have been able to detect anything. Again, every sample was positive for fungal growth. Some areas of my apartment were so extremely mold-ridden that I wouldn't have needed to do the stains at all....but I did (See the attached photos). Upon informing the management about the MOLD INFESTATION in my unit, they began to doubt me from the very start, and their lies began compounding like flies on poop. Stacy Rhodes is the current property manager of The Ridge. This woman threatened to have the police called on me for slandering the property....by accurately and truthfully describing the extent of the mold infestation. If you're thinking to yourself, "that isn't slander," then you would be correct. Stacy gave me the option to terminate my lease without penalty. This is the only courtesy I received from this vile slag of a woman. After informing her that I wished to terminate my lease without penalty, she tried to charge me a $200 cancellation fee on the lease....again, it was supposed to be a termination without penalty. I fought hard for my $200 and got the response, "It isn't worth my time to argue over $200." Why charge me then, if it isn't worth your time, Stacy? The day I moved out - down to the exact hour - was the time for MOVE IN for building 6. I truthfully informed parents and other residents around me of why I was moving out so soon. Upon talking to a few of the potential residents, I was asked by a few of them to 1) see the photos that are attached here and 2) inspect their apartment for similarities. I was able to visually identify mold in all the three other units that I entered: ONE EVEN HAD RAT DROPPINGS UNDER THE SINK (Side note: these people were all moving in at this time, and NONE of their units had been properly cleaned prior to their allotted move in time). Stacy had told me that she was going to legally withhold my ~$800 return due to my "slandering the development." Because I needed that money ASAP to put down for another apartment, I made a deal with Stacy; she said she could expedite my return if I promised to stop informing residents about the mold in my unit. As morally bankrupt as that deal was, I accepted because I needed a place to stay. Well friends, I have yet to receive any return from The Ridge, nor have I been able to contact Stacy once. Each time I have called, she is supposedly out of the office. I have since found a place and am safe, but now I begin the process of ensuring that none of my personal items were infected with mold from The "Deathtrap" Ridge; I had to throw away all my toilet paper because it was mold-ridden just two days ago (photo attached). Do not stay in this development - especially if you have any respiratory problems or immunodeficiencies or if you are elderly/ahve extremely young children. The amount of mold in that is living in this place is enough to kill My dog had even started showing signed o a generic inflammatory response; red, puffy eyes with discharge; his condition got better within TWO days of being out of the apartment. read more

they bribe staff with 25$ gift cards to get people to post positive reviews, won't do anything about dogs not on leashes they don't even give new residents their mail keys. there are piles of dog shit ON piles of dog shit from buildings 3-5 nothing has been done despite constant complaints. they left packages unattended and not in a locked room for an extended amount of time. if you get something on the walls don't bother wiping it up, the paint will wipe off too! The place is quick to mold.The pool is a big fat lie and their biggest sell point I've lived here 3 years and it's never been open. They prey on new college students. I won't be renewing unless they meet or lower my rate I don't give a damn about market rates show me property value. I have had nothing but issues while living at this apartment complex. I moved in 3 years ago and it is a fight to get anything done. When I signed my lease and toured they promised me a long list of things that I never received. I was okay with a lot until just recently when they safety has became an issue. In the lease it states that "all residents will receive a key fob due the the policy of The Ridge". Because the lease was broken by The Ridge, there are multiple residents who did not receive a key fob. Because of this we have to leave the outside doors propped open so anyone can enter the buildings at any time. Now because there was a "safety issue" they are changing all of the locks. People were not notified of this through email or text, so it came as a surprise when someone is outside of your door messing with the lock. There would have been no safety issue if The Ridge followed the lease that they have everyone sign and provided key fobs to their residents. The list of issues is ongoing. This place needs to get it together before something happens. read more

College students that work here are great however the management is extremely poor and the manager Stacy is incredibly unhelpful and treats her residents as if we don't pay to live here and aren't tenants under contract, place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Living here while at WVU was pretty good. My friends and I lived in a 3 bedroom for two years and honestly its not the newest but for what we paid we have no complaints. The closets in our apartment were big and the gym was convenient since to be honest I can count the number of times I actually went to the rec after freshmen year on my hands. Staff always was friendly when I was in the office and maintenance seemed on top of things I didn't really anything big fixed in our apartment so can't speak too much on that. That being said the bus sucks but I really don't know anywhere where the bus doesn't suck or isn't always running on some odd schedule. I'd say either leave earlier then you think you should or bring your car if you can and try to make sure it has all wheel drive you will need it for the winter. read more

I did not have air conditioning in my apartment the entire time I lived there, even after placing multiple work orders, it was never fixed. My heat stopped working. Again, I placed multiple work orders, and it was never fixed. I was told that the apartment and my room would be clean upon moving in. I did not have blinds in my bedroom, the ceiling was CAKED in dust, the walls had scratches and nicks all over them, and the floor was not vacuumed whatsoever. Not to mention, my bathroom began to have black mold above my shower, as well as in the windows throughout the apartment. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Avoid living here at all costs. The wifi is down and some of us take summer classes so I had to get a larger cellular plan since the apartment building doesn't have the amenities it says it has. The pool isn't even cleaned or filled (covid 19 takes some responsibility) and they said they were going to open it along with the gym soon. And to top it all off, there was a coupon for a free appetizer in my welcome package for Texas Roadhouse, when I tried to use it, IT WAS EXPIRED FOR OVER A YEAR. I moved to The Ridge in February of 2013 when my job transferred me to Morgantown. I took over a sublease that I found on Craigslist because it was the cheapest place per room in town. I had specifically taken over the lease from a girl who was living in a 4 bedroom with all girls. I did this because I've lived with and shared a bathroom with guys and know that they're gross. However, I was placed in a different apartment than the one I had applied for. I didn't know at the time but this is called "steering" and is a violation of the Federal Fair Housing Act by discriminating based on gender. My leasing consultant was Jessie. However, I never saw him in the office again after my first tour. I signed my lease and moved into my apartment. They said they had lined me up with a roommate who was from my home town. What seemed sketchy is that they just gave me the keys to the apartment when I had never met the roommates and didn't know if they knew anyone was moving in. The room itself was not very clean. Lots of dust and the whitish berber carpeting was tinged brown and had obviously not been cleaned. The ceiling fan blades has huge chunks of dirt on them. There was even a picture in the closet and another one behind the dresser. Without the guidance of the leasing consultant or a proper orientation to the property, I had a few questions that were never answered. Should I have a parking permit? Apparently not. There were always new cars I'd never seen parked outside my place. How did the shuttle work? I never figured that out. Did I have to pay for utilities? I think my roommate just paid those. I only actually lived there for 4 months as I was transferred again for work. But I didn't try to sublease for the remaining 2 months because I didn't think it was worth paying the fee to do so. One day I came to get some of the stuff out of my room and all of my stuff had been tossed around. Apparently maintenance had come in and painted the walls of my bedroom. In the process, they splattered paint all over the desk and my things. Then in late July, I came back to get the rest of my stuff to find my roommates had apparently moved out. There was a large stack of papers at our door with move-out instructions but it was too late for me to try to follow them as it was my last day to grab my stuff. When I left the apartment, all that was left was a bag of trash in the living room that was not ours. The maintenance staff had left it there while repainting the living room. Shortly after my lease ended, I was contacted by a bill collector for $75 I supposedly owed for trash removal. These charges were supposed to be split between the three roommates. So you're telling me that you charged us $225 to remove one bag of trash that your employees left there? I disputed the charge and have heard nothing since. Overall, you can tell these used to be nice apartments but they have not been well taken care of. I decided that if I had stayed in Morgantown, I was moving to West Run. The Ridge had changed their pricing to no longer be the cheapest in town so it was no longer worth it. My main complaints would be the 9000 speed bumps into and out of the property, the blind left turn to get into the property, and the gross pool and hot tub. The pool is not heated and the hot tub is not cleaned. There's always scum floating on top of it and a dead frog the last time I was in it. Oh, and there's supposedly a business center in the clubhouse but they make you feel uncomfortable for going in there and only one of the computers has internet access. The weirdest thing about all of this is that about a year after I first moved in, they were hiring for a leasing consultant. I found out about it because they sent out an email to all former residents. I explained to them that I lived in Ohio now but would move back. They told me to come pick up an application. I told them I wouldn't come to WV just to get an application so they said they would check if they could email me one. Never did. So I called again and they said just to show up at the day of the interviews at a certain time and they would have me fill out the application later. So I suit up and drive 3 hours to get there. The front door is locked and a blanket is draped over it. They tell me I have to go through the gym. Luckily I'm a previous resident so I know the gym code. I then walk into the entrance to the office from the gym and they all freak out, telling me I have to WAIT in the gym. So I stand in the gym with a few other people and realize that they're there for interviews too. I'm in a suit and the guy I'm talking to is in sweatpants. I finally get into the office to be sat in front of a panel of interviewers at three separate tables. They have a video camera set up on the desk. They tell me that this is my "Leasing Idol" audition. WTF? So apparently I was supposed to have a song prepared (WTF does that have to do with the job?).I left a VM later asking for an app.No Response read more

Its a very friendly community. The amenities are nice. Sometimes there's a community social. The pool area is awesome. There's always someone to play basketball with on the court. The scenery is beautiful. Its pet friendly. They have a good system for assigning roommates you'd get along with. The bus system consists of a 15 person van and a 30 person bus . They both have GPS so you always know where they are. Maintenance is experienced. The common areas are smaller than what you'd find down the hill, but you cant beat the price. It's affordable, comfortable, and superb community. Like Shane I also had a dissatisfied move in experience, however the management was very quick to take care of the issues. 4/5 read more

Overall, I have appreciated my time at the ridge. However, it does have it's problems. Management changes nearly every year and the maintenance guys are incompetent most of the time. The reason I am writing this is because I feel like The Ridge was untruthful to me at the time I signed my lease renewal. I was told that there would be a $500 incentive. The incentive doesn't get paid out until a year after the initial signing. When I went in to claim me incentive I had a value of $300. I talked to management (who was unavailable for weeks to talk about my issue) and they basically said that they cant do anything about it. All of my roommates signed within a few days of me and they are all getting $500. I believe someone at The Ridge made a mistake but now they aren't owning up to it. The place is a nightmare. I had neighbors smoke pot in the halls and I'd call management to let them know and have them do something about it. When I told the office staff all they said was "ok" and did nothing. They legit told me and my girlfriend it wasn't their problem. So I handled it because they wouldn't. I've also been gone for 2 months and everything in my apartment is turned off and I'm still receiving utility bills. So I am wondering if they moved someone in there and I'm paying for it. Good thing I've taken videos and pictures of the place when I moved out. I know they will try to charge me a fee for something that doesn't apply. I currently live at the ridge and there are many problems with the staff at this location. 1) Maintenance is horrible. I told them by garbage disposable was leaking so all they did was come cover up the areas where the water had got and rotted. Our dishwasher was leaking and the floor boards were coming up and they never fixed those. When I had told them that it was leaking they just came said "they ran it once and it didn't leak" and the next time I ran it, it leaked. (Still hasn't been fixed) 2) The office gives your pointless charges. When I moved in there was a disgusting table on the balcony that looked like it has never been inside so I left it out there and they randomly charged my roommates and myself each $25 a piece. Also the blind in the living room had broke a tiny bit, I didn't make it a deal, and they charged us $4 a piece for that. (Keep in mind there are 4 people in the room). 3) Speedbumps. They have these unnecessary speed bumps that will tear your cars suspension up if you don't drive under 5 under them. 4) Pot smell. There is always a smell of pot or cigarettes in the hallways of the buildings and they never do anything about it. 5) First day move in way disgusting. The very first day I moved into my apt. it looked like not one person cleaned or even entered the room in years. We spent the entire first day and then half of the next day just CLEANING the apt. 6)The shuttle. They have 1 shuttle bus and 1 normal bus. If you don't mind waiting 45 -1 hr at times for a bus after class then go here. Overall, if you could find somewhere else. GO THERE. read more

I'll start off by saying a one star review is to generous. This place is trash. The management team is a damn joke. If they say they will call you back don't hold your breath. I've been told multiple times that I'd receive a call back and I never do. They never respond to emails so don't even try that. The apartment buildings have an infestation of black mold but they don't want to make that public knowledge so they keep it on the down low. I called to get my bathroom looked at once and all they did was scrub it with bleach and it was back within a week. My kitchen drawer broke before I moved in and to fix it they glued it back together. Well one day it fell off and I waited over a month for them to fix it. My washer has been broken for over a month on three different occasions. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please avoid at all cost. Ever since we got new management in 2015 this place has gone down hill the manager CICI doesn't know how to do her job doesn't even know WV state law and has more then 6 lawsuits against her just from this year. Bedbugs are everywhere in this place my neighbors just got moved out because of them they will not tell you about the infestation and it isn't their first one either. you got mice in apartments if you live on the bottom level and most of the buildings are full or brown and black mold due to poor construction. The manager treats her CA and bus drivers like crap and even physically abuses them by smacking them and flicking them in the head but she is so loved by her two bosses which word is she slept with to get the job that she never get in trouble. the owner of the property has to settle cases out of court so his name doesn't get dragged around. And next year 2017 there will no longer be a shuttle she went behind her buss drivers backs and asked to get the mountain line up here so she can get rid of the shuttle system so don't count on that for next year. apartments are dirty and missing furniture. the people they get to lean the place off craigslist where stealing from residents over the summer and even had a guy threaten to kill a resident. There has been heroine overdoses here 2 in a month and they will not notify you of anything even if it obtains to your safety you will have cops knocking on your door asking about other residents who they are look for. And the CA in the office will break your privacy act. They told me about my roommate owing money and everything which is against the law. Don't come here if you have already signed a lease get out of it call the corporate office to get out of it if needed. it is not worth it you can live somewhere else for cheaper or slightly more depending where your looking. I called the complex throughout the summer, requesting to move in early (which the complex offers) because my job started before the date I was scheduled to move in. I called countless times throughout the summer and received no help whatsoever, the office staff would simply say they would speak with their manager and call me back. No calls. It wasn't until I requested to speak with the manager immediately that I was finally told that they would not accept my request to move in early, no matter the circumstance. That was a small sign, but definitely a warning of what was to come. The day I moved in, my furniture was scattered throughout the living room. Turns out, the girl who lived in my room before me had an animal so they had to replace the carpet. I was glad about this, but called the office about the fact that my furniture was never put back. They sent no help. Mind you, I'm a small girl that's unable to lift heavy objects like a wooden desk, bed frame, etc. Along with that, my bathroom was still messy. It was obvious no one had cleaned in there. The bathtub, sink and toilet were stained, paint from the walls was splattered on the floor, and my bedroom door wouldn't fully close unless it was forcefully pushed due to a poor paint job (they coated the door frame so much that random blobs of paint had dried and kept it from closing). It took months for them to come and fix that. Of course, I gave them leeway seeing as it was everyone had just moved in and there were bound to be many problems in other apartments. However, after weeks of no response, I called the office to ask for some sort of time frame. It took another few weeks before maintenance finally came to scrape off the paint. After doing so, they left the paint chips all over my bedroom and the hallway floor and didn't repaint the doorway. Along with that, there were multiple problems in the living room/kitchen that were not fixed, including a large chunk of paint missing from one of the doors, stains on the living room carpet, a broken fridge handle, and stains in the sink. Halfway through our lease (in January), our AC unit started making strange noises. I reported this, and maintenance came fairly quickly. They looked at it for about five minutes before deciding it was fine, even though it sounded like something was clanging even when it was turned off. Once April came around and we actually needed to use it, it wouldn't work at all. We filed a report with maintenance once again and they realized a piece of it was broken, so they would order it and it would arrive within two weeks. Weeks passed. Then months passed. No responses when we tried to reach out to them. In June, I demanded some sort of AC unit from management, and I learned maintenance had never even ordered the piece we needed. A few weeks later, they arrived with a portable AC unit for only the living room as they waited for the piece to fix our unit for the entire apartment. Of course, it wasn't until the week I was moving out that they finally showed up to fix the AC unit. After all, they had to get the apartment in shape for the new residents and don't care about those who live there. Fast forward to now, EIGHT MONTHS after I moved out. I received a letter in the mail from a collections agency. The ridge hired them to get $300 out of me with no reasoning. I contacted the office, who attempted to blow me off. I asked to speak with management but of course "she's in a meeting but she'll called you back". The office worker proceeded to try and hang up on me without even collecting any information about how to contact me back. I demanded to speak with the manager immediately, who would only say "I'll look into this and call you tomorrow", no matter what I asked or said to her. That was five days ago. She sent me a move-out statement, claiming that I owed the money from that. I have proof of payment from my moving out, which was half of what they are trying to get out of me now. I can't even access my online resident's portal account to show proof of exactly what the money went to, even though it is in my bank account's statement. Its ridiculous, and I hope no one ever gets stuck in the situation they put me in for over a year now. read more

If you are looking for the worst housing in Morgantown- This is the place to go!! Was assigned to TWO different units- both of which were infested with bed bugs. Management staged exterminations to avoid lawsuits. They are only interested in trapping you into a lease to take no further care of you what so ever! Apart was dirty moving in and looked as though it wasn't touched since the last people moved out. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!!!! Turn back while you can. read more

The apartments are super nice! I love all of the freebies they give out throughout the week. The people who work in the main office are absolutely awesome! This is the perfect place for students who want to live off campus because even if you don't have a car, the shuttles are always on time! The only thing I have a problem with is the speed bumps in the entrance, which have done a number on my car. But if you go slow enough I'm sure it wouldn't do as much damage. But other than that, ever since they switched over to new management, I've definitely noticed some awesome changes! read more

So far, Campus Park at the Ridge has been the best place I've stayed in Morgantown. The apartments are nice overall, the bus system is convenient (although could use a little improvement,) and I have never been treated rudely by the staff. We've had a few problems with the apartment, but when we needed it fixed, most of this was done in a timely manner. read more

I had lived at The Ridge for two years and my experience with them has been nothing more than awful. The leasing manager, Cici Pitts is unprofessional and is unqualified for the position she holds. She is not understanding when it comes to various different situations and refuses to negotiate with you. Considering that she "worked" her way up the corporate ladder I am not surprised that they let her get away with some of the things that she does. They charge 3-4 times what the actual utility bills state, as I requested copies of them due to my suspicions of them overcharging my roommates and I. My apartment has flooded because they refused to replace my washer after submitting several maintenance requests for them to do so. It took a month for them to give me a new washer after the huge flood. The carpets are gross and I'm constantly being stabbed in my foot from nails sticking out of the carpet. Parking is limited when all of the students are here. The hot tub never works, or when it does it is filthy. The pool is never cleaned out either. I think that it is absurd that they do not keep up maintenance for the amenities especially with all of the money they make off of the residents. There are rats that run underneath the bottom level apartments and even on their balconies. I have heard several people tell me about bed bug and roach infestations. Personally, I have only experienced a mild stink bug infestation last summer. The internet goes out very frequently so if you use the wifi often you'll end up having to go to the library constantly. The bus system is super unreliable. I was always ending up late to classes or stuck on campus because the bus wasn't running and they don't inform you when the bus is down either. read more

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE!! I wish I could rate this with a negative star. The management here is horrible, they don't care about the tenants and only see you as money. Almost 3-4 months ago we got a 4th roommate. At first everything was okay until we realized he was putting silverware, cups, and plates back in the cabinets without washing them. We talked to him about it and it didn't stop. We went to the office and they promised us they would talk to him and if I didn't change he would be moved. A week or so after he moved in we realized a horrible smell coming from his room. We tried to ignor it until the exterminators came and said they saw the same thing with rotting meat. We went to the office and they said they'd handle it. Few weeks later he put a boiling pan on a laminate floor melting it. We went to the office to explain what happened they promised us they would take care of it and that he would pay for it. Couple days later he put a rubber handled pan in the oven. Luckily our roommate caught it before it caught fire. Went to the hosing office and once again we were promised they would talk to him and he would be moved. Months later the same things are happening, the floor hasn't been fixed, he hasn't been moved although we were once again promised he would be moved before the end of April. Here we are in May and we still have the same roommate making the same mistakes and making the rest of us miserable. To do sign here, you will be screwed over at every turn. Highly suggest going somewhere else it isn't worth the cheap rent. read more

I want express how in helpful the staff was at this apartment complex. Parents beware... My daughter was suppose to go back to school last August and didn't go back due to medical issues. Our health insurance is one reason. We live in California & and our insurance only covers emergency visits. Not dr offices. So come to find out my kid been passing out end up at the hospital. No help. Go see your primary. She came back to visit and find out it happen here in California. She still been treated and do you think the complex understood when we tried to get out of the lease. they didn't care. So we been paying for a empty room all year long and we get a final statement looking like this. I am so upset about over charges. My kid is very sick without a job now. And you want more money for a broken door, she didn't live there.replacement of blinds. I am not a happy parent. There keys.
