One of the only large thrift stores in Kingston, other than Value Village (and a couple of…read moreconsignment shops). I generally enjoy shopping here, but one thing I notice here compared to Value Village is the clothing here is usually in worse condition. Do they not check over the merchandise when pricing? It seems any time I find something good, something's wrong with it. I came this morning and found a nice Roots pullover (score!) but when I looked closer there was a purple stain all over the front. Then I found a Wilfred Diderot sweater ($98 value), but noticed a large rip in the arm. I know it's a second hand store but come on, we don't want ruined merchandise. I will say that I like that the fitting rooms let you take in 9 items, rather than just 6 at Value Village. Overall it's an OK spot for thrifting, but they need to do better on quality control.

This post is in regards to service at the Talize store in Kingston, Ontario. On October 28th, 2026…read moreI purchased a pair of jeans. When I got home I found a hole in the seat of the pants. I had missed noticing at time of purchase. I returned the next day at 11:10 am to return the jeans. I did not have the original tag for the jean. I was told they could not take the pants back and said that policy was such that there is nothing they could do. I spoke to the manager, a woman in who appeared to be in her later forties, long bleached blond curly hair. She advised that she could not do anything for me (the jeans had cost me $50). I asked if I could get the contact information of her supervisor. She told me she was the manager on duty. When I asked her to speak to her supervisor she directed me to contact head office. I asked for her name or her employee number as I wanted to refer to it when speaking to the head office. She refused citing that the information about her name or employee number was confidential. Since the given name and the first letter of the last name appear on the bill of sale I come to the conclusion the MANAGER LIED TO ME. For whatever reason she did not want to divulge any information about herself. No name, no employee number. I appears that this manager of the store lacks integrity. Not taking the jeans back because of the tag missing is their policy. I get that. I doubt very much that lying is in their policy,
