It's some time since we were last here. Once again it was a £19 for two Groupon deal that brought us back. When we came here for the first time last year we had read some pretty poor off putting reviews and after trying it out ourselves we were pleased and relieved with the food, the price and the service. We decided that the poor reviews were largely unjustified. This was our third visit. The food that we had was once again very good, not haute cuisine but very good, especially for the price. I rook photographs to include with this review. Two very good freshly prepared poppadums with three different dips: an onion & chilli with a real kick, a yoghurt based and the ever present mango chutney. Starters were chicken pakora and a seekh kebab starter and both were excellent. The mains were two good tandoori mixed grills with a modest portion of mixed meats and king prawn. These came with really excellent curry sauces a pilau rice and a boiled rice. We ordered an extra Peshwari nan which we paid for along with a large 600ml cold cobra beer and a quarter of wine. Less than £12 the lot. We had plenty of good food. Service by the same waiter, still courteous, unobtrusive and almost deferential yet a bit quirky but not mega friendly. Maybe language and/or cultural reasons - no real issue. The place is a bit wiffy not overpowering rather it's noticeable. We were the only diners just up to departure when two folk came in. The decor is alright, the chairs comfortable, enough space on the table and good background music, played at a level allowing for conversation. It is a bit dated, a bit worn, but again hey ho at this price. Once again we found this experience to be alright. Once again I don't recognise the other poor reviews, they simply and thankfully aren't reflective of our experiences. Finally a tip if you have a coupon take a print out with you; there's no phone signal inside the restaurant. read more
