Love my brows!!! I literally had tiny lines for eyebrows. If this is your first appointment know that it will be painful, but worth it. Mackenzie clearly knew what she was doing. The first week after your first appointment, your brows may seem darker than you wanted and a little swollen/red/flaky. This is normal! After 2 full weeks they healed and I had the permanent brows of my dreams! Plus after my touch up they only looked MORE PERFECT! I will definitely be a returning customer! Now that they have healed, I can happily report that getting face tats is not as terrifying as it seems. I sought Mackenzie's services to supplement and shape my eyebrows with real BLADES. I have had a few good friends, who are reasonable people, successfully get this service performed. Therefore, I was certainly less freaked out by the idea of permanent makeup once that barrier had been broken by intelligent people. I have always had light eyebrows with decent shape but not a ton of definition. For a few years now, I have tinted my brows at home, and added brow pomade daily to provide a bit of pop and contrast against my features. I did a bit of research to find Mackenzie on Yelp; I have a good friend who also does *superior* work (Edin Carpenter), but her starting rate is unfortunately too high for my personal budget ($600). In Reno, $600 is not an unreasonable starting price, but this procedure 100% depends on where you live. My sister just had hers done in Salt Lake City for $250. Mackenzie started at $450, with a touch-up of $50 after a few weeks, if needed. Mackenzie is located at a house called 'Lash Out', which happened to be right down the road from my home. It is just on 7th street heading east, in a small house with a teeny parking lot but lots of street space. I communicated with Mackenzie primarily via text, which was helpful. She was very flexible with her booking time, and I did not have to wait more than a few days to book the procedure. The place was *packed* full of ladies getting eyelashes on a Saturday morning. I filled out a fair amount of paperwork before getting set up in a back room. Mackenzie tried out several colors against my skin, took my eyebrow shape and tinting background into consideration before showing me the color she thought we should go with, and sketched an outline around my natural brows. Be warned: the first cuts are going to be painful. I have had a lot of tattoos, and THIS takes the cake. Most likely due to the proximity of blades scratching up your face close to your eyes. If I had to guess. I found myself sneezing a ton with watery eyes during my touch-up especially, so just be wary. Once Mackenzie does the outline of your brow, the numbing solution is applied, and I assure you that the rest will not feel as intense. She told me that the numbing solution can create a barrier that won't allow the pigment to properly set in, so she likes to do the outer lines without the solution. I have heard mixed things about this theory, but I will say that though it was painful, the pigment has stayed true and has not faded much. Aftercare involves not getting your eyebrows wet (that was fun), keeping them lubed up with Aquaderm, and avoiding direct sunlight and perspiration. I would recommend getting this procedure done, if you are considering it, in the winter, when the majority of these factors will not affect your fresh face tats. The resulting brows were darker than they would be once healed, but well defined and completely negated the need for additional make-up or maintenance. It has been about 2 months since I got my prison tats, and the results are noticeable but not unnatural. They should last for up to 2 years without a retouch, depending on your skin, aftercare, and how the pigment reacts to you skin. Mackenzie was helpful in answering my questions, very responsive, flexible, and professional. If she is in your price range, she will certainly complement the decision to tattoo your face. read more

So I'm going to start by telling you I've followed Mackenzie and many other microblading artists on social media for a while before I made a decision because I wanted to be sure I chose correctly before letting someone do something permanent to my face.. over the last year I'd started asking questions about if I was a good candidate, how the application went and many other questions over the last few months. Mackenzie was ALWAYS the first to respond (which is refreshing when someone has a large social media presence) and answer all my questions at length including if someone with thicker brows like myself was a good candidate for micro blading (which turns out it's even better.) I'm so disappointed. I got a lash lift and tint here, and when i got home I immediately realized one eye looked less "tinted" than the other. My friend even commented that it only looked like i got one eye done. My lashes are pretty light, but they are long, so i thought this process would really bring that out and make them look great, seeing how her other clients had turned out! No. The tint only went about half way up my lashes. You can still see that the ends of my lashes are blonde. Her other client pictures show the tint going all the way to the end of the lash, so why werent mine? And the post of "my" before and after picture wasnt even me. She used my friends eye for the before picture. I'm assuming because my lashes didnt actually change much ): And one eye looking so much less "done" than the other... Bottom line: I would suggest spending your money elsewhere. Pros/Cons listed below. Pros: -My eyebrows look symmetrical and natural. -She also did a good job of color matching. -scheduling -good conversation Cons: -professionalism: I was never told me how much anything cost. It was my first time getting microbladed and, based on answered questions on yelp, I thought I would be paying $350 but I was charged $450. At my 6 week follow up appointment I was charged an additional $50, though I thought it was included in the initial fee. TWICE I was told that she forgot to tell me the price...I paid $500 total which is about $100 more than her competitors who have just as much, if not more, experience. -technique: She used 5% lidocaine but didn't let it sit on my skin so, of course, the lido essentially did nothing but get in the way. -longevity: I was told that I didn't need the 6 week follow up appointment if I was happy with the pigment and result. This is contrary to other information I have heard...Additionally, most of the pigment wore off before the 6 weeks, despite my attempts to follow the aftercare instructions exactly as I was told. I had permanent make-up eyebrows many years ago and they were awful. They had faded to rust. Mackenzie re-did my eyebrows with micro-blading and they turned out fantastic.
