Much better Staff. There are many neighborhood events. Neighborhood is pretty safe for the most part. As stated in previous review items were taken from apartment but it wasn't from apartment maintenance it was taken from outside pest control staff they hire to come spray units ! Valet trash has gotten wayy better with not leaving a mess as well as coming on scheduled trash day. Quiet neighborhood and has improved majorly over the past few years! Only complaint would be the walls can feel kind of thin...or neighbors may just be loud but that isn't the apartments complexes fault. read more

I emailed the complex 4 days ago and received no response. Below is what I sent to them. Good afternoon! I just wanted to touch base since I just received your flyer. We have neighbors right across from us that leave their dogs unattended on the balcony. Th y are two small dogs that bark constantly when left outside. We have spoken to them once before since they used to let them out at 4:30 AM - 6:00 AM in the morning, yes, the morning! I woke up and saw the neighbor just walking around his house as the two dogs continued barking. They have since started again letting them out in the morning as well as the afternoon/night. They do not stop barking. We live in **** and the other neighbors have also been upset since one does have a small child and it disrupts their sleep. Their balcony is directly in front of our window. They live to the left of us, if you were facing the street (Park Row/Colonial). I am writing this e-mail since the letter you sent states that "Pete may not be left unattended on the patio or balcony). Is there anything we can do? My husband and I work early (6:00/7:00 AM) and aren't fond of waking up two hours before we have to. We also have a dog that is NEVER on the balcony and does not bark constantly outside for hours. We have been very patient with them and have lived here for two years now and have had no problems. We have contemplated ending our lease once this is over due to the sudden noise issues we are having. This community is great and it is usually quiet but this has really bothered us and we don't see ourselves living here after the two years are up unless the neighbors quiet their dogs or move. Horrible i used to love it here, until their maintenance staff messed up my personal belongings inside my apartment. So i took my complaint to the "manager" she said "That's why you have insurance" ... WOW thanks. I wish my lease was over, i would move to a place that had a better staff. I also bought a new car AND IT WAS TOWED !! The owner states "Our Residents are our top priority" AS THEY SCREW THE RESIDENTS !! Do not live here unless you want to deal with unimaginable incompetence when you move out. I loved living here until I had to move out. As a responsible renter I paid my bills on time, kept to myself, kept up to date maintenance requests, and kept record of everything. However the office staff was so revolving door that on their end they dropped the ball a million times and it all came glaringly to light when we went to move out because we bought a house (thank god!) First: They straight up lied to us about the sure deposit. I take responsibility for not having done independent research before accepting this option, however the office staff at move in had no clue what it was and falsely advertised it to us as a normal deposit. This is wrong and sure deposits are a scam, just skip it and always assume the staff doesn't know what they're talking about. Second: Don't trust that they've actually kept your files. An employee that no longer works there didn't properly record a clicker being turned in when we gave notice so now we are being charged $50 for an item we didn't lose because once again their record keeping and communication is terrible. Always have them make you a photocopy of everything if you do already live there because they can't be trusted to keep your records for you. Third: People in that office don't know how to get back to you when you leave a message. Over the past 2 months I have called and emailed 6 times to try and settle my bill and remove charges for things I don't owe (see damage that their faulty plumbing caused and a clicker I didn't lose) I was never once emailed or called back. 3 times I explicitly left a message for the Assistant Manager, Anna, to call me back. She never did. Not once. I have had to call repeatedly to get in touch with anyone and get answers and the first time I did get in touch with her her internet conveniently stopped working and she told ME to call HER back when their internet started working again. I corrected her and told her to call me back and lo and behold she didn't. She was also supposed to send me our walkout report and photos over 2 weeks ago and guess what? She didn't do that either! After all of this I am incredibly frustrated. What I thought would be a simple issue of adults being reasonable turned into her being so stubborn she refused to admit fault and is keeping the charge for the clicker we didn't lose. They have no record of anything. They have no clue who did what. And in the end they are so proud that they definitely lost my respect and any future business I would send their way (i've already recommended a friend previously and was in the process of recommending another). So if you want to live in a complex that can't keep their records straight and are unable to admit when they've made mistakes please live here. But don't expect move out to be easy! Also have fun with all the money you're flushing down the toilet if you have pets! Aside from complete office incompetence the grounds are nice and the apartments are functional. The materials used are either very nice or very cheap though so be cautious of that. Also there is a common problem of the doors settling and no longer being able to lock, this is frequent across the complex. They'll come and fix it but you'll get the same issue in 2 weeks again. The walls are also very thin and you can clearly hear the bedrooms next to you. Not very private. The neighbors are generally very nice but I was harassed by a discourteous male neighbor twice in the parking lot and the office really didn't take that very seriously so take that as you may. read more

I moved into my place a year ago. Throughout the year I have been very happy with the staff because they are very friendly. There has been a few issues that have left a bad taste in my mouth, and then one that occurred last week that is unacceptable! As the parking lot gets fuller and fuller, it seems like residents care about each other less and less. I have a very small compact car. I always park well within the parking lines. I have gone out to my car 4 times to find that someone has folded my rear view mirrors in. And they park so close....into my parking spot that I can hardly get into my car!! I asked the office if they have security cameras and they said no. Then I asked if they could send a newsletter asking people to respect each other's cars...it never happened. I've also seen broken glass all over the parking spots and I had to report that. It was cleaned up. There is a lot of drunk idiots here. One night I was on my patio working on an art project. Some guy just walks up in front of my place and starts peeing all over the garages!! I told him to get the hell out of there and find a restroom like a normal person. He spun around and exposed himself and then told me to f-off and he lives in my building. I told him to go home and that I was reporting him. He gave me a name Travis something or another. I called the police and tried to make a report. That guy gave me a fake name....did not exist at all. So this is who you will be living near. And btw...not only is that offense indecent exposure, but it's considered a sex crime and has to be registered as a sex offender. In November I had to travel for work for about 5 days. When I got home my apt was over 95 degrees!!!! I couldn't lower the temp and it was broken. I called maintenance and had to wait until the next day. I would think that was an emergency!!! I had to keep my doors and windows open. I asked if I would get help with my electric bill for that week since it was a faulty thermostat and I was gone for a week. I shouldn't have to pay the whole amount since I had no idea and wasn't at fault. I was told they would let me know...that never happened! Lastly, I've decided to move closer to work and my lease is coming to an end . I put my notice in and was on the phone with the office staff last Friday. I was asked if maintenance could enter my apt to LOOK at the plumbing because the apt below me were having problems. I said no problem. I had to stop in to the office to sign my notice....nothing was said about the maintenance that went on. I go into my apt and walked into my bedroom and saw two huge holes in the drywall covered with plastic. Not all of the tape is holding and my heating is just going out the plastic! This is all in my bedroom, over my nice bed!! They moved my nightstand, paintings, and other things around and left it for me to put back to where it belongs!! I went down to the office and the guy had no idea they did this to my apt. He said he would call the next day to let me know what's going on. He did. I was told that the apt below me was complaining about the pipes making noise. I asked if it was an emergency and he said no. So they opened my walls up on a Friday, and left them for the whole weekend for a non-emergency. Then he told me that the maintenance guy has a doctor appointment on Monday so he can't get to it until Tuesday! This is so unacceptable! I asked for the head manager to call me and he said he would send her a text....it's Monday and I haven't heard from her yet!! The trash service here is awful! The guys come through at 11pm, slam every bin lid and if they spill trash they leave it until we complain. Also, the gate is not secure, or enforced. People just sit behind you and go in without a gate clicker. I have called several times asking to have the solicitation to stop and it doesn't happen. You will get at least 4 flyers a month in your door, and will see them pile up on the walkway because no one wants to keep throwing them away. I will post a picture of a neighbors door. They moved out more than 2 weeks ago. This tells you how often management, maintenance and whomever cleans the Apts makes their rounds. I wasn't going to review this place, but this is beyond acceptable. I am really nice and understanding, but I'm way over my boiling point! I gave one star for the nice girl in the office read more

Still love our apartment, but the bugs have gotten out of control! We have not had much help in getting rid of this problem in the last two years and with people moving in and out, they have gotten so much worse! Just moved out and happy to do so. The only good thing about this place are the looks. Issues I had. 1) no hot tub 2) bbq is always running out of propane 3) poor communication ex. Changing the gate code without telling anybody. Changing the package delivery policy without telling anybody. Management refused my packages and got returned to sender. I had to call the sender to figure out where the package was. 4) I rented a garage and they decided to rent it to someone else and removed my stuff without consulting me and just left it outside in the parking lot. 5) BS excuses about poor water pressure... I know that water filters do not cause my shower to have little to no pressure. 6) not wanting to replace items that need to be replaced ex air filter and water filter 7) sales staff hitting me up for free tickets to Astros, Texans, and the Rodeo... Those are corporate tickets and meant for my employees as a reward, not a sales rep that I don't know. 8) sales representative shamelessly texting me trying to get an in at my employer... No means no. 9) poor parking 10) a lot of random people hang out at the pool that don't live there. 11) when I first moved in there were unexplained charges on my bill. I still don't know what the charges are for. 12) they tried changing the terms of my contract prior to my moving in. Just because I did the transaction from out of state, doesn't mean I don't read contracts. I know the price agreed upon and have the written docs to prove it. I just moved from Southern California and was attracted by the look, price, and proximity to my job. I would never recommend anybody live here... An absolute dump. read more

They tow your vehicle and tell you it was parked in a permit only area and yet there are no towing signs. $209 later and 5 hours, you can get your illegally towed vehicle back... oh and when you get back, mysteriously there are no parking signs already put up at record speed. what a joke this place is.. I must say I have had my small issues with Remington Katy but in the end if you are looking for a decent place to live in a nice area this place is it. I do have to say I moved out recently so I can get closer to work and recently received my settlement and final bill from them. $167 was the total for the last water bill and cleanup they had to do. I thought this was reasonably fair for a big apartment complex. They did not try to gouge you out at the end and I am thankful for that. read more

Yeah, you probably shouldn't move here if you don't feel like you should have to go over your rent statements with a finetooth comb every month. Before anything, this place WAS great! The floorplans are modern, the area is quiet, and the management used to be a joy. However, since the new management took over, there have been more than a few slip ups with rent statements and other services, but I think the attitude that is given when the problems are presented to the staff is what makes all this a bigger problem. When they first started merging over, I was understanding. I know how these things go, new systems to learn, new processes, there's a lot that goes into taking over an existing company, and there are allways hiccups. What makes this an issue is that from the first moment that these problems started, management was cold and instead of apologising out right for their mistakes, they would mislead us into thinking that we were seeing a problem that wasn't really there and give us the run around. It would take several phone calls and physical visits for them to fix or even acknowledge the problems. 1) Rent and other fees: On more than one occasion, they have applied the wrong base rent amount on the bill, increasing rent to significantly higher than what's expected. I find this out when I go to pay rent (anywhere between 1-5 days before the 1st), and now I have to call the office and spend 2-3 days trying to get it fixed before I can pay (having to call and follow up each day because no one gets back to me on their own). I don't like being that close to having to pay late fees for something that's their problem! I've also had to catch them on at least 3 occasions where they double charged me for the standard monthly fees for various services (Valet trash, pest control, "Admin" fees, water). This one is especially difficult to deal with. As I would speak with someone, they would act like there's no problem with the system, and that's just how much I owe (even though it's well above what I normally pay every month. In one case around $200 more). I would have to push and have them go through each charge. As I refresh my page, the site would "magically" show the correct charges, and they would act like it was correct all along. What gets me is that instead of acknowledging that there was a problem and fixing it, the person I spoke with decided it was better to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about and that I should just pay whatever it says without questioning it. That just doesn't sit right with me, and is hard to get over. 2) More recently we've been having issues with receiving packages. We've had several occasions where we go to pick up an expected package, and find out that there were others just waiting there for who knows how long without anyone telling us. Early on I tried to ask if they could tell us when they have packages for us, and I got a very snooty/annoyed response saying that it's not their responsibility to handle packages. I asked a second time when it happened again, and they stated that they send out a txt message when packages come in, and that if I'm not getting them then I need to update my number. This is another example of them pushing the blame, as I know they have my number because I've received other messages from them regarding pool maintenance and other announcements. On a side note, I don't mean to get off topic, but this goes into that accountability that I was referring to. They once sent out a mass txt to everyone literally saying "Please pay rent tonight to avoid eviction filing tomorrow. If you have already paid, thank you! Luxe At Katy Management". Needless to say we were a bit freaked out, thinking that the rent payment didn't go through or something. We found out later that they just sent it to everyone, and our payments were fine. This seemed a bit harsh to just send out like that, but as we found out later apparently they think they can do no wrong. We got a physical letter from them a few days later stating that they sent it out because they need to file evictions by the second of the month. They go on to explain their process, but this just seems a bit cold. Apartments should want their residents to feel at home, not constantly remind them that their landlords are ready to kick them out at a moment's notice. To me, this is just another example where it could have been forgiven if they had just acknowledged this as a mistake instead of trying to justify it. Needless to say, most of these problems could be forgiven if management handled them with accountability and professionalism. Unfortunately, the new management is less than ideal, and I will definitely be moving out at the end of my lease to get away from all these headaches. read more

Throughout the lease agreement process, Norma kept me informed daily and did everything she possibly could to get me in early and she made it happen. I appreciate Norma's professional behavior and her genuine shared excited with me when I got my keys. If you have any issues and want to deal with an employee who I find to be very competent, caring and professional go in and ask for Norma. You will not be disappointed. First to start off, If I could give a negative on the rating scale I would! Me and my wife had an horrible experience and might I say this was the first time this every happen to us while trying to lease an apartment! The first day we walked in to The Remington to inquire about an unit we seen online we greeted Jackie(notice I said "We" greeted) and she wasn't so pleasant to greet back. She had an attitude and did not want to show us the model unless we were interested in immediate move in. They had two units available at the time. So we left. A month later in continuance of our search for an apt. we decided to look to see if there were till some units available that suit our needs. We gave The Remington a second try because it met all our needs; the location of the apartments,the two bus stations nearby, my sons day care up the street, and family that lives two minutes away. We went back and Jackie still had an attitude. This time she decided to show us an unit. On our way to the unit she didn't speak, there was trash on the ground and she steps right over it and didn't seem to care. So this is when me and my wife started to scratch our heads an investigate the apartments online. We looked at a couple of reviews that were questionable but now we believed them. A couple weeks later we actually decided to give Remington another shot and it was because we seen an awesome deal on the Taylor unit online. This time when I went in and three ladies ;Angela Henry, Lilian, and an Hispanic lady greeted me with joy and smiles that gave me another view on the management. Lot of conversation and all my questions were answered and I immediately did my application and paid my fee! That same day we get an email saying that we were approved but we have to paid the maximum sure deposit and one months rent. We called on Saturday Jackie said she doesn't know anything about it and we went back to Monday morning to see whats going on. Lilian told me don't worry about the email it has to be approved by the manager?? Me and my wife finally go one day to see our unit that we were supposed to move in #5304. Angela leads us to the unit and make smart comments under her breath "10 times a charm". The unit was about 60% clean. There were roaches and Angela comments"That's a good thing their coming out to die". As prospective resident nobody wants to see roaches period!So, were were still trying to figure out our status of approval wanted to know how long will it take and she tell us to expedite it contact the apartments that we sent rental verification to. We contact all our apartments and they tell us The Remington did not send anything but will gladly to fill there request immediately. We try calling Angela and she avoids my wife calls and remind you we were actually pressing for time because we gave a notice to our current apartments 60 days ago and we had 4 days to move. We finally get a hold of her and she said "Aww dont worry you have plenty of time"???. At this point Im frustrated because we were getting the running around me and my wife are leaving work throughout the day(She works in the Med Center) trying to handle the situation. So I told my wife I wanted to speak with the property manager and see how she rectify this situation. Tuesday 7/18/17 We call Angela to check the status of our app and says you guys are approve. We still let her know that we were on our way to to see if they clean and took care of the roaches before we move in that Thursday. We go to the leasing center and ask for Angela and a lady tell us that shes not here at the moment?We ask her for her name and she says Brook. We told her our concerns about the apartment and she was trying to brush us off. She told us to sit down and Angela will be be back soon. Angela comes from the back of the office 10 minutes later. The next day my wife contacts Mosaic management trying to get the Property Manger contact info and to inform her and come to find out it was Brook!We decided not to move in because the management is poor on customer service! Remington accepts Discover card as a means to pay your rent but unfortunately they make you call this 1800 number which is by far the worst automated phone system I have ever called. The system does not recognize the numbers correctly and makes it impossible to pay. I put in my 60 days and right away moved into a new house with still a month and a half of that 60 days left. I am now trying to pay the final 11 days of 60 days but cannot because of this phone system. Brian, the new manager as of a week ago is telling me he is going to charge me late fees until I can pay by money order which will be in 5 days, paying double rent for a single father is tough. I made this decision thinking I could use my discover card, which they accept in order to make it thru this month and a half of double rent. So that is $135 extra that they are making me pay because the crappy phone system they use cannot understand the numbers correctly. This is not fair and if I have to pay to keep this off of my record I will but I will fight it every step of the way. This is not how you treat people!!!!!! Also, the Sure Bonds they use as a deposit to move in, they do not explain them to you correctly. This is because a revolving door of people. Angela is the only one who has been there the entire year and a half that I have and has been wonderful but unfortunately she is not the one making any decisions. read more

I wish I could give zero stars but one is the minimum. Run, run, run... do NOT move here. Where should I begin... this complex has gone downhill and the recent management change has done nothing but make it worse. The office staff gis extremely unprofessional and rude. The pool and cabana area could be a great area to enjoy with family and friends but unfortunately that is not the case (see photos). The chemical levels are often off to the point the health department has shut the pool down twice. They close Monday both pools and grill for "cleaning and maintenance" yet I never saw any work being done on a Monday or any day for that matter. The pool is green, bathrooms atrocious, grill barely has gas and is filthy. The residents moving in recently have taken over the pool area with loud and offensive music for families, particularly children. There are glass bottles everywhere, trash left all over and huge parties of non residents that carry on loud noise throughout the night, often after the pool hours "close". SWAT team has been there and police on multiple occasions, it does not feel like a safe place to live. The landscaping near the front is well maintained but take a walk around the community and you will be shocked at the burnt grass, missing woodchips, piles of dog poop, dead plants not to mention the condition of resident hallways stained by trash leaking. Good luck if you try to ask for a maintenance repair, the general reaction of the rude office manager, Brooke, is to argue rather than fix the problem. Do yourself a favor and take a close look around if you are even considering this a place to call home. read more

We have lived here for three months now and so far, it's been great. The management is friendly, the few maintenance issues we've had have been fixed in a timely manner, and the grounds are very well maintained. The apartments are nice with granite, wood-like floors, and neutral colors. The noise level isn't bad considering it's an apartment. We feel very safe living here and are happy that we chose The Remington. read more

The apartments were very nice, they had great foods trucks that would come in every night for dinner, me and my wife always love seeing the variety from taco trucks to Asian stir fry. The help were always very nice to me, and I overall had a great experience. In the year I lived there I only had one plumbing issue and they fixed it in a very timely manor. Poor management, we were misled as far as contract terms and conditions, termination fees, commutes, noise level (there are a lot of lonely streets around and there is a lot of drag racing going on late hours at night, especially on weekends), a ton of bugs and the spray they use doesn't work. Handles and towel rods are always falling apart and it's not like I am a strong woman who can break all these things on my own. The leasing salespeople remind me of used car salesmen. everything is made of cheap materials, you can hear everything going on in the apartments near you. if you work outside of katy, that commute is easily 1hr just to get to the beltway. email communication is virtually non existent unless you are looking to lease. i do not recommend this place, as parking is horrible. there are a lot of texas sized cars in tiny little parking spots that take up 2 spots. Good luck finding parking late friday. Stay away from this place! I fell in love with the looks of it, but looks can be deceiving, and so can used car salespeople. I really do like my apartment. Layed out very well and functional. Management seems to be trying to do better. Complicated charges were finally adequately explained and seemed to make sense but additional fees are not discussed when you sign your lease. I plan to review my lease and contest these additional charges if applicable. The pool area is a real problem. It seems that certain residents, if there actually are any residents involved, plan their activities when the staff has left on Sundays. BIG pool party today!! Lots of loud, very loud, music with occasional sing a longs. Lots of alcohol, a few clearly overserved young ladies. A regular hoedown a la Mexicana! Dont get me wrong, I enjoy Latin music as much as the next guy but Im not sure everyone living near the pool was ready to tune in for the entire afternoon. And I was pretty sure that the limit was two guests per resident. This was clearly either a family function or a company party. A few residents I observed came in one gate, took a look around and exited the opposite gate. As I was leaving my apartment at around 6pm a young man carryiny two 24 packs of beer stopped me and asked me "which way to the pool!" I just said "walk that way and follow the music." So much for a relaxing Sunday at the pool, either pool. read more
