We just had the good fortune to meet the guys from this company and to have selected them to refinish a number of cabinets, game table, and chairs and a massive coffee table. I was referred to Paul by my Neighbors Charlie and Susan. I happened by their home and noticed that their kitchen Cabinets were no longer Oak, but now a rich cherry color. I called Paul and was truly impressed by his kind nature and further impressed by his amazing knowledge regarding cabinetry. I have to say that not only was he clear about what he was going to do and how he was going to do it that I immediately contracted him to do the work. I am going to post photos of before and after, the important thing to note is the dark color of the cabinets I have and the wear that I had experienced. When Paul was all done, the kitchen looked new. Looking at my neighbor Charlie and Susan's home, the work Paul had done there was over a year old and still looked stunning. Paul and his assistant Ed refinished all of the exterior kitchen and master-bath cabinets in the house. The completed work was absolutely stunning, looking exactly as the brand new cabinets that were enjoyed when first moving into the home. Over these past forty-plus years of heavy 'household-kitchen-use' the oak wood stained in various places, darkening in others, as well as the natural fading that occurs, inevitable ends. Too there was some water damage beneath the sink cupboards alongside the usual grime and grease that accumulates over the many decades of cooking for family and friends (even as having maintained the cabinets as best as possible throughout the passing years). At completion of his artistry Paul and Ed very professionally made everything unsightly to blatantly disappear. This master woodworker is definitely an artist, meticulous in his knowledge and expertise in matching the many tones and nuances of precise colors and hues, 'bringing-back-to-life' the varied detailed patterns of many veins and shades on the original beautiful oak wood. Extremely talented. I was so pleased upon the final viewing, shocked by how well the restoration evolved. Paul would not end the job until he was absolutely assured that I was 'one-hundred-percent' satisfied. So highly I recommend this Master Refinisher! Paul and his partner, Ed, did a fantastic job restoring and refinishing our kitchen cabinets. Our cabinets are 36 years old and showed a lot of wear and tear, particularly around the sink area. Paul let us know he would complete this area first and get our approval before completing the rest of the cabinets. Paul and Ed made this water damaged finish on the doors and drawers around the sink come back to life and look new again. The kitchen looks really good, but the finish on them are not as smooth. Overall, I was very please with the work. Paul is very easy to work with. Paul responded quickly to my request for a quote. Performed a site visit and gave me a written estimate the same day. He scheduled the work just as quickly and started within 10 days of the inspection. The work took only two days. They covered the flooring, counters, and appliances with plastic, cloth and cardboard and taped it down for protection. Paul listened and did all that I had requested. They restored 23 years of wear, dirt and damage to the cabinets. They were very good at fixing damaged areas. There was a hole in one cabinet that was right at eye level. I can no longer even see where the hole was. In addition, there was damage in the kitchen island from a trashcan that was clearly visible from the family room that looks brand new. Additionally, they removed paint overspray that stood out against the wood grain cabinets. Paul matched the original color exactly, as I had requested. Overall, I am very happy with the results and believe the return on my investment will exceed the cost of the work. The only complaints that I have is a stain left in the sink, and few out of the way places they missed. I think this was a good alternative to the cost of replacing all the cabinets or painting the old ones. They are not new, but they look very good. I would recommend The Refinish Artist for cabinet refinishing. read more

Would give zero o if I could. Came in to give quote. We had gray chalk paint on our cabinets. They said it wasn't a problem. Quoted us for $2800. We paid $200 deposit. They started the job and it seemed like they we're having a hard time standing off chalk paint. They still said it wouldn't be a problem. The job ended Friday they said they wanted to let it dry over the weekend they would come back Monday when both my husband and myself were home so we could inspect it they would fix any rough edges do any touchups make sure it was a perfect job for us and get our approval. After it dried it looked horrible. they didn't even cover every part of the cabinets. there was still chalk paint showing through. The color was uneven and there were spots that the stain had streaked. Please look at out photos. We Asked them to fix the job properly and they refused. We have them on recording on our ring doorbell when they were talking amongst themselves saying that would take weeks to fix and they would not do that. they wanted to get back inside our house before we locked the doors to see what we offered them so they could just walk away from the job. Still gave them $1000 which is still way too much for the crappy job they did. I stained our upstairs cabinets. we brought my work down to show them against their professional job. it's clear they are not professional as my work was much better. read more

We hired Paul and sons to refinish our kitchen. Paul was an excellent listener and really works well with his clients. Our cabinets were that orange-tan looking oak. I went with a dark mahogany finish. They finished before the estimated timeline in about 3 days. What a 100% improvement. I only wished I had done it earlier. I took a long time to pick handles and during that time, we had some issues with the drawer stain/paint chipping from handling, but Paul came back and touched it up without any further charge. Make sure you know the difference between refinish and restore when dealing with Paul. It has been a year and 6 months since he did my kitchen. I expected refinish but got "restore". I have several places where the restore is needing work. I called him twice at about 9 months after the work and he said he was on a job and would call me back. Still have not heard back from him. Said he and his son would be doing the work. Asked me to remove all my dishes from the cabinets before starting the work. Mentioned that they would be putting up plastic to keep dust out of the rest of the house. That was a laugh.....never saw plastic go out, never saw sanding that created dust and never saw his son. He worked two 6 hour days for $2,200. Offered me a $200 discount if I paid cash.....told him "no thank you". read more

I saw an ad for this business in a magazine so I called to get a price quote. Paul said he'd come by between 2 and 3 o'clock, but couldn't come any later. I left work early and around 3 o'clock he called to say he was running late but would be there in 25 minutes. Then 30 minutes later he called to say his wife reminded him that he had a 4 o'clock appointment so he asked to come back Thursday, which I could not accommodate. He then said okay, he was on his way. Even though I had originally given him my cross streets, twenty minutes later he called to say he was on the wrong street and his gas tank was on empty so he would have to cancel.
