Paul and Ed came out and refinished my kitchen cabinets at a very fair price. They were heavily water damaged near the sink area, a lot of stain had been worn off down to bare wood. The stain around all the kitchen knobs had been worn off. The cabinets look new again.. They did a fantastic job in a few hours. Highly recommend. read more

About 10 years ago, we had The Refinishing Artist restore our kitchen cabinets from a typical walnut oak to a stunning espresso finish. To our surprise, the result was even more beautiful than we had imagined. It wasn't just a single flat color--Paul preserved the character of the wood and refinished it with rich depth and dimension. Not only did our cabinets look brand new, but they completely transformed the look of our kitchen. Ten years later, we had The Refinishing Artist come back for some touch-ups due to normal wear and tear. Once again, Paul and his brother-in-law Eddie worked their magic. Paul's experience truly shows in the quality of his work. We highly recommend The Refinishing Artist for any type of restoration. read more

We just had the good fortune to meet the guys from this company and to have selected them to refinish a number of cabinets, game table, and chairs and a massive coffee table. I have come to the conclusion that these fellows are really magicians because they were able to repair damages from normal wear and tear to areas on our kitchen cabinets, dining area and living room to the point where the repairs are literally undetectable! The refinishing is as close to perfect as one could hope for. They are truly skilled at their craft. The guys are both charming and were fun to have working in our home. Their pricing was more than fair, the quality of the work was exceptional. We can highly recommend their services! read more

Paul and his brother-in-law were very professional, affordable, and super easy to work with. He even did some extra work for free when he noticed a spot on some additional cabinets that I hadn't. My cabinets now look brand new and I don't have to worry about further damage. I would definitely hire Paul again! read more

Mr. Paul and his helper did a great job refinishing our kitchen cabinets. I have used them a couple of times and they are excellent. I have to say Mr. Paul is a real artist, he goes out of his way to make everything pretty, eventhough it was not part of the initial contract. My husband and I are very happy with his work. Very highly recommended. read more

Don't use him. Unfortunately this is a edited review week later. His work is good. However his eyes are not and this type of job requires detail and seeing the imperfections and stuff like that it's an older man in his early 80s or late 70s and he doesn't have the eyesight for this type of work, you can take this review how you like and make a judgment on it but I wouldn't use him read more

Refinish Artist exceeded expectations, consistently punctual and delivered outstanding cabinet refinishing. Their precision and attention to detail truly transformed the space. Highly recommend their services for top-notch craftsmanship. read more

Paul and his crew did an outstanding job turning our original honey maple cabinets into a beautifully rich multi-faceted mahogany color. We are very pleased with the results as the attention to detail and quality of their work is excellent! Price was very reasonable for doing all cabinets in the home, and for the number of cabinets it was only one week from start to finish. They protected our new granite counters and cleaned up every day. Beautiful transformation! read more

Paul, Ryan, and Ed from the Refinish Artist worked on a Kitchen and Bathroom refinish for us - they partnered with Wayne from Handle It (see my Review) - and they worked very well together. Paul was very flexible and worked well with us in finding the color that met our needs also in co coordinating with Wayne (great when contractors work together) so this made the whole experience much less stressful. Paul is an honest and helpful person that does a great job - we would recommend him highly!! read more

I was referred to Paul by my Neighbors Charlie and Susan. I happened by their home and noticed that their kitchen Cabinets were no longer Oak, but now a rich cherry color. I called Paul and was truly impressed by his kind nature and further impressed by his amazing knowledge regarding cabinetry. I have to say that not only was he clear about what he was going to do and how he was going to do it that I immediately contracted him to do the work. I am going to post photos of before and after, the important thing to note is the dark color of the cabinets I have and the wear that I had experienced. When Paul was all done, the kitchen looked new. Looking at my neighbor Charlie and Susan's home, the work Paul had done there was over a year old and still looked stunning. Paul will be Restoring one of my neighbor's homes and Refinishing two others. Let me follow up on the negative reviews that I saw here, they are an onslaught of negative against Paul and clearly just bitter nasty people who teamed up against him. Sad and mean spirited frankly and I can tell you as a Business Owner and a Retired Detective Sergeant out of Los Angeles, I can speak to the quality of Paul's work, but far more importantly is the class he displayed and the character he offers as well, this man does what he says and shows up on time to do so. Look at the great work he's done, not the nonsense I see here. If you wish to contact me personally regarding Paul's work and see for yourself the quality of workmanship, I would be happy to have you come to my home to see what I am talking about. read more

Paul and his partner, Ed, did a fantastic job restoring and refinishing our kitchen cabinets. Our cabinets are 36 years old and showed a lot of wear and tear, particularly around the sink area. Paul let us know he would complete this area first and get our approval before completing the rest of the cabinets. Paul and Ed made this water damaged finish on the doors and drawers around the sink come back to life and look new again. All of our kitchen cabinets look better now than when we purchased our home new 3 1/2 decades ago. Paul and Ed are very kind and gracious to work with. The estimate was very reasonable. They are professional, arrive on time and work throughout the day to complete the project in the timely fashion as promised. My wife and I are very pleased with THE REFINISH ARTIST work and would definitely recommend them. read more

Paul and is helper did a really good job. My cabinets looked a lot better than they did before. I think the helper did my bathrooms and the finish is very smooth. The kitchen looks really good, but the finish on them are not as smooth. Overall, I was very please with the work. Paul is very easy to work with. He did my job in one day and definitively matched the color with excellence. Maybe a little pricey, but I didn't get a second quote to really know, but it's cheaper than redoing cabinets and maybe even painting. I would rehire The Refinish Artist. read more

Paul and his assistant Ed refinished all of the exterior kitchen and master-bath cabinets in the house. The completed work was absolutely stunning, looking exactly as the brand new cabinets that were enjoyed when first moving into the home. Over these past forty-plus years of heavy 'household-kitchen-use' the oak wood stained in various places, darkening in others, as well as the natural fading that occurs, inevitable ends. Too there was some water damage beneath the sink cupboards alongside the usual grime and grease that accumulates over the many decades of cooking for family and friends (even as having maintained the cabinets as best as possible throughout the passing years). At completion of his artistry Paul and Ed very professionally made everything unsightly to blatantly disappear. This master woodworker is definitely an artist, meticulous in his knowledge and expertise in matching the many tones and nuances of precise colors and hues, 'bringing-back-to-life' the varied detailed patterns of many veins and shades on the original beautiful oak wood. Extremely talented. I was so pleased upon the final viewing, shocked by how well the restoration evolved. Paul would not end the job until he was absolutely assured that I was 'one-hundred-percent' satisfied. So highly I recommend this Master Refinisher! If you are looking for an affordable way to renew and restore your kitchen or bathroom cabinets (which is otherwise a ridiculously-expensive undertaking to replace and/or reface the cabinet exteriors!), call Paul and Ed. Never kinder people will you meet! I am so happy having made this decision! My kitchen looks brand new! read more

Paul and his crew did an amazing job for a great price. My kitchen cabinets were original since house was built 30 years ago; their work completely transformed them. I've tried to get Paul to my house for an estimate 3 times. I've waited for a total of 6 hrs and he has been a no-show each time. We had our whole house redone and are very pleased with the results. Paul and his boys did a great job and were very understanding with getting the color just right. Took a star away because his business style is a little unorthodox in that he didn't have actual color samples; this leads to some trial and error on gettin get color right which also adds time to the project. But if you want great work at an affordable price, I would recommend. read more

Paul responded quickly to my request for a quote. Performed a site visit and gave me a written estimate the same day. He scheduled the work just as quickly and started within 10 days of the inspection. The work took only two days. They covered the flooring, counters, and appliances with plastic, cloth and cardboard and taped it down for protection. Paul listened and did all that I had requested. They restored 23 years of wear, dirt and damage to the cabinets. They were very good at fixing damaged areas. There was a hole in one cabinet that was right at eye level. I can no longer even see where the hole was. In addition, there was damage in the kitchen island from a trashcan that was clearly visible from the family room that looks brand new. Additionally, they removed paint overspray that stood out against the wood grain cabinets. Paul matched the original color exactly, as I had requested. Overall, I am very happy with the results and believe the return on my investment will exceed the cost of the work. The only complaints that I have is a stain left in the sink, and few out of the way places they missed. I think this was a good alternative to the cost of replacing all the cabinets or painting the old ones. They are not new, but they look very good. I would recommend The Refinish Artist for cabinet refinishing. read more

Would give zero o if I could. Came in to give quote. We had gray chalk paint on our cabinets. They said it wasn't a problem. Quoted us for $2800. We paid $200 deposit. They started the job and it seemed like they we're having a hard time standing off chalk paint. They still said it wouldn't be a problem. The job ended Friday they said they wanted to let it dry over the weekend they would come back Monday when both my husband and myself were home so we could inspect it they would fix any rough edges do any touchups make sure it was a perfect job for us and get our approval. After it dried it looked horrible. they didn't even cover every part of the cabinets. there was still chalk paint showing through. The color was uneven and there were spots that the stain had streaked. Please look at out photos. We Asked them to fix the job properly and they refused. We have them on recording on our ring doorbell when they were talking amongst themselves saying that would take weeks to fix and they would not do that. they wanted to get back inside our house before we locked the doors to see what we offered them so they could just walk away from the job. Still gave them $1000 which is still way too much for the crappy job they did. I stained our upstairs cabinets. we brought my work down to show them against their professional job. it's clear they are not professional as my work was much better. read more

We hired Paul and sons to refinish our kitchen. Paul was an excellent listener and really works well with his clients. Our cabinets were that orange-tan looking oak. I went with a dark mahogany finish. They finished before the estimated timeline in about 3 days. What a 100% improvement. I only wished I had done it earlier. I took a long time to pick handles and during that time, we had some issues with the drawer stain/paint chipping from handling, but Paul came back and touched it up without any further charge. The price is fair and he's definitely a person who stands behind his work. read more

Paul and his team did wonderful work in our home. He was able to transform our worn-out looking oak cabinets into some very luxurious dark cabinets that look absolutely new. The attention to detail is really what made the difference. They also refinished my old oak barstools and stair banister, and I have to admit they made them both look far better than I thought possible. Paul, Ed, Ryan and Skylar were extremely meticulous, thorough and careful with the job They are very personable and are probably some of the hardest working contractors I've come across. I initially considered refacing the kitchen cabinetry, but after comparing costs and now seeing the results of their work, I'm positive I made the right decision. As far as the logistics of their work, they were always on time, no surprise costs, completely met their contracted obligation, and did a great job. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. read more

Make sure you know the difference between refinish and restore when dealing with Paul. It has been a year and 6 months since he did my kitchen. I expected refinish but got "restore". I have several places where the restore is needing work. I called him twice at about 9 months after the work and he said he was on a job and would call me back. Still have not heard back from him. Said he and his son would be doing the work. Asked me to remove all my dishes from the cabinets before starting the work. Mentioned that they would be putting up plastic to keep dust out of the rest of the house. That was a laugh.....never saw plastic go out, never saw sanding that created dust and never saw his son. He worked two 6 hour days for $2,200. Offered me a $200 discount if I paid cash.....told him "no thank you". read more

Beware! Never on time & only works partial days which made it take longer than expected to refinish cabinets. He was suppose to come back to do touch up ( I have flagged approx. 20 spots that were not touched or needed to be filled in) but of course since he was paid in full he is not responding to me. He was suppose to call me over a week ago to put me on schedule but didn't call so I sent him a text next day & he has not yet responded. I will be hiring someone else to finish his work. Disappointed & dissatisfied customer. read more
