The distillery tour, which is the focus of this updated review, was 2.5 hours long and was an absolute pleasure to attend. Travis, one of the two co-owners, did a great job of mixing in the historical aspects of his distillery, with the science of how the distilling process works while mixing in his own down home humor to make for an excellent excursion. As part of this tour you get to taste all the products Uncharted make, which includes numerous Gin, Vodka, Agave and whiskey products while Travis is giving his presentation. Upon completion of his presentation we went upstairs to the "lab" to make our own personalized bottle of liquor where I ended up making an orange colander Agave. Such fun! If you have any interest in the distilling process and have ever wondered how liquor is made you should definitely give this excursion some strong consideration as you will not be disappointed. As Travis added so much to this experience, I would strongly suggest you try to coordinate the tour when he is available. Definitely worth the price of admission (:

Our favorite cocktails were the Aurora Borealis (with huckleberry vodka) and Smooth Sailor. Don't miss out on their limited time spirits, you are in for a treat. The service was fantastic, friendly and family-owned. Plus, there is plenty on indoor and outdoor seating.

Apparently, the only brewery in Ketchikan has a premium price so it doesn't sell well and is not available. The Red Ale out of Anchorage was a great recommendation. They have a big collection of old ship and shipwreck photos decorating the walls. I also saw what looked like an antique painting of gamblers in the Gold Rush period, as well as some old historical memorabilia. It was like walking into a different time period with all the décor and wood paneling. We had a choice of a beer or a cocktail. We chose the Sourdough Mule. Apparently, tequila and ginger pair well together. It was good, but I liked the Bear Skat shot the best. Who knew that Blueberry Vodka would make such a big difference in the flavor? My husband really liked the Butt Hole shot. I didn't get to try it, but he said it was pretty good. We didn't get to stay long. It was our last pub crawl stop. By that point, we were all a little buzzed before heading back to Ward Cove. Thankfully our tour operator was our designated driver. It was a great time spent in Downtown Ketchikan!

We each got something different (most of our crew has been here many times because they live in Ketchikan), and had great recommendations. The drinks were a bit sour according to the people who were drinking... not their favorite experience. But the food was great! We had the calamari (nothing special, also not loving it Italian style with the marinara- wouldn't recommend), buffalo wings (worth it- nothing crazy but not bad at all!), wedge salad (this was exceptional, however ask for dressing on the side as it was DRENCHED which really took away from the freshness of everything else), Halibut Fish and Chips (SOOOOO WORTH IT! HUGE PIECES OF FISH, NOT GREASY, LIGHTLY FRIED, SOOOOOO YUMMY!), Steak and Mac and Cheese (OK, the mac and cheese is wheres its at!), Prime Rib with Baked Potato (our group was mixed on this one...), Salmon Dinner (TO DIE FOR- JUST DO IT!), and Halibut Dinner (really good, not the best halibut I have ever had personally- a bit dry for me, but my hubs LOVED IT!) The mashed potatoes that come with these dinners is also excellent. My only suggestion again is just tone down the salt/sauce/seasoning. The chef clearly knows what he is doing, but it was just a bit heavy on the salt for everything for our liking. Next time I would like to try the desserts- they looked amazing! The atmosphere, service, view, and live one man band was killer! If you are in Ketchikan you have to come to the restaurant if you're not staying at the Lodge and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the fish and chips, mac and cheese, or salmon dinner... you wont regret it!

It was honestly one of the best Bloody Marys I have ever had in my life. Beyond the great drinks, the bartender was an absolute superstar. The place was packed to the brim, and she was handling the entire crowd like a total pro. I was blown away by her speed and efficiency; she was pouring multiple beers at once, whipping up cocktails in record time, and even tackling her own dishes alongside another lady who was helping wash glasses. She didn't miss a single beat. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and genuine. We ended up chatting with fellow cruise travelers at the bar, swapping stories, and just enjoying the great energy of the room. It's an authentic local gem with unbeatable character. If you're stopping through Ketchikan, do not miss this place. Grab a stool, order a Bloody Mary, and enjoy the show...highly, highly recommended!
