Stopped in here for breakfast on a weekend trip to Madison. It was crowded, which to me was a great sign that it's well loved. It did not disappoint. My iced pumpkin spice was the best iced PSL I've ever had (and I've had many). My bacon cheddar bagel sandwich was incredible too, toasted perfectly. The shop itself is cute and rustic with hardwood floors and plenty of seating. The vibes are great! read more

Everything bagel with egg, spinach and pepper jack cheese with roasted pepper salsa. I don't know if they really eat these in Santa Fe, but it's well-named and delicious. The everything bagel is especially good and I've gotten this 2 days in a row. RRR liked his sausage egg burrito, with the same salsa with his latte. My drink was a sugar-free caramel latte, enjoyable way to get caffeine. read more

Stopped by to grab a quick coffee and breakfast on our way out of Madison after a weekend trip. They had a pretty standard coffee shop drink menu. I got a medium roast drip with almond milk and my partner got a matcha latte. Both of the drinks were average. I also got the Santa Fe Veggie Bagel which was satisfying. I was impressed by the price - two drinks and a bagel were all under $20, which is not usually the case where we are from. I appreciated that! The service was pretty quick and there were a lot of cute dogs coming in and out with their owners while we were there. There was a lot of space and tables both inside and out. It seems like a nice place to camp out and do some homework or catch up with a friend. read more

Typical coffee house, if you're looking for small town charm and friendly staff, keep on walking. Chai Tea was good (as expected, not exceptional) but someone needs to save the three girls behind the counter from their doldrums. This place has my favorite coffee in Madison! The breakfast options are really good as well. Their lavender latte is great, as well as their regular vanilla latte. A wonderful place to fuel your body before hiking or just exploring downtown Madison. We were greeted warmly by the staff and felt instantly welcomed. We had the Malibu bagel and Santa Fe bagel, and both were incredible (grab plenty of napkins!). The salsa and the avocado relish on the respective bagels added to the overall blend of flavors. The iced coffee was delicious, and so was the chai tea latte; wonderful spice to the latter. Great place, too, to hang out and relax. read more

Great service, satisfactory selection of food choices, and perfect ambience for a friendly gathering! Amazing location too.

This was a much better experience than the last time when my cinnamon roll was nuked. This time I just had coffee before the Madison Historic Area Walking Tour a couple of blocks away. Service was very good and quick. I will admit that they have the best coffee in the area. It was piping hot and I still had time to relax and enjoy my coffee outside at one of their outside tables. For anyone interested in the walking tour it's the third Saturday of the month at 10 am. It's free but they do take donations. Madison is a treasure trove of beautiful architecture. read more

Decent coffee and sandwich offerings on Main Street in Madison. The hot chocolate was made to order but lukewarm temperature. The chai tea was average. Breakfast sandwiches were good. My husband and I found ourselves with half an hour to kill in Madison, and on this particular chilly November night, coffee sounded perfect. Happily, Red Roaster Coffee & Eatery in downtown Madison was open. We parked out front and walked right up to the counter to order. I got a medium coffee, and my husband got a cappuccino. We also got a cinnamon scone to share. Altogether, the total came to just about $9. We had our drinks and treat a few minutes later and found a table to sit at. At the time we were there, there were a few friends catching up and a guy typing on his laptop. Red Roaster seemed to be suited to talking or working. And our drinks and scone were good. The coffee wasn't over-roasted. If I lived in Madison, this would be a regular stop for me. read more

A great location with lots of natural sunlight. I'm sure the coffee and sandwiches are great (judging from the reviews) but it shouldn't take over 15 minutes on a slow afternoon to get 2 cold cut sandwiches. I was annoyed by the time because my husband and two little boys were waiting in the car, getting antsy after 10 minutes. Either don't print the time on the receipts or do less talking and more moving it along. Hope others have a better experience because of my reviews. read more

My wife and I had a rare date morning on a Saturday trip to historic Madison. I had seen the sign for Red Roaster just outside of Clifty Falls State Park, and I was craving a good cold brew. We found red Roaster coffee right in the middle of town on the main road through Historic Madison while waking from antique shops and site seeing. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable with a few window seats and a few tables. The counter was very standard coffee shop, and familiar. My first impression was that they have a better menu than Starbucks, but half the price. This was encouraging. I ordered an iced coffee with sweet cream, and it was delicious. My wife got a large hot chocolate, which was equally tasty. We sat and enjoyed our drinks while people watching the Main Street, all for the price of one drink at Starbucks. This was a very good experience and I recommend a stop here for any coffee lover visiting Madison. read more

Good drinks, cute inside but I didn't feel welcome. Staff wasn't friendly. Didn't greet me, didn't ask if I needed help, just kinda rude and unhelpful and unwelcoming. No thank you even when I tipped. I stayed on the right right side thinking I was picking up the drink there; after 5 mins the girl who took my order (short blueish blonde hair) said "you know your order is on the other side" how would I have known? I don't think I'll come back unfortunately. read more

First off, this space is hard to beat. Bar stools made from bourbon barrels, a beautiful fascade, natural light flooding throughout and clean/crisp decor and tiles/floors. I opted for the mango tropical tea on ice (delicious) - I recommend adding a splash of honey. You can thank me later. ;) My partner-in-crime opted for the strawberry smoothie drink which was a little on the processed (fake-y) side for my liking. If you find yourself strolling down the main street in historic Madison, I recommend popping your head in for friendly service and a great co-working space. read more

I have to say, I'm not a coffee drinker, but winter calls for warm beverages especially when you've been exploring Madison all day. We wondered in to get a mug of something steamy and non-java. What we found was a sunny, airy place to enjoy a conversation and rest a bit. The small cafe offers a range of drinks as well as desserts and sandwiches. I ordered a chai latte and a peanut butter stacker and my friend went with a hot chocolate and a lemon bar. My chai was spicy and hot, but very watery. The dessert, on the other hand, was sublime! Layers of chocolate cake with crunch, peanut butter meringue, chocolate ganache and caramel were topped with candied peanuts. It reminded me of a Whatchamacallit bar. So delicious and a steal at under $4. I would have paid a lot more for this in a Louisville bakery or restaurant. I tasted the lemon bar which had a good flavor but would have been improved by a slight warming in microwave (as they had done with mine). The hot chocolate was as to be expected. Both were very reasonably priced. I'll stop by Red Roaster when I'm next in Madison. It's a sweet place to rest a bit and indulge in some tasty treats. read more

Nice little coffee shop in downtown Madison. Many standard choices, but some fun choices as well - such as a seasonal iced tea (today was mango). My husband liked the mango iced tea and I enjoyed my black tea lemonade. I stayed away from coffee so late in the afternoon, but slightly regretted my decision because it smelled so good in the cafe. They have some nice snack and light lunch choices - reminiscent of your big chain coffee store, but with the feel of a small town, hand made product. The service was friendly and quick. Strolling along Main Street on a hot June day hardly seems like the perfect time to visit a coffee shop. Be that as it may, I did, and it was the perfect place to cool off for a bit. Red Roaster Coffee Company & Eatery is a small, locally owned shop that breathes the essence of Madison, Indiana. Prominently situated in the heart of Downtown, the shop is the perfect size. With large windows, customers are free to take in the view of this iconic American small town. With stools made from old bourbon barrels, there is no doubt that the shop is a stone's throw from Kentucky. If one doesn't want to sit on wooden stools or chairs, the eatery has a few comfy chairs in the corner. The Red Roaster has a basic coffee shop menu. They have a fine selection of fancy coffee drinks - you know, the tasty ones packed with sugar and have ingredients like mocha, whipped cream, and coconut milk. I know this because my girlfriend ordered one, but I drank half of it. Being me, I cannot remember the name of the drink, but it was an iced mocha latte with coconut milk. Yum! Of course, Red Roaster also has plenty of regular coffee as well - hot or iced. The best part of the Red Roaster experience for me was the staff. I was impressed with their diligence, as well as their ability to tell us all about the City of Madison. The Red Roaster Coffee and Eatery is the perfect hangout spot whilst spending an afternoon in Madison. I recommend it. read more
