It has a busy entertainment schedule with plenty of acts visiting and is popular with a wide range of ages. In addition to a large bar there is a huge function room which can be hired with a stage at one end and a bar at the other. This would be a great if you are expecting lots of guests, the furnishings in the room are nothing flash, pretty much what you would expect from a working mans club but I must say that the hall from the front door to the room is overdue a makeover and re-paint. The bar is cheap, my tipple, a double bacardi and coke is £2.40, much much cheaper than the town.

Now the Club has a small car park and a very loyal membership. Recently extended the main drinking lounge is warm and comfortable, a larger kitchen was added to provide great dinners in the large entertainment room that regularly holds great evenings of song and laughter with the best of the local club talent on show. It still has its various teams and an active fishing club and snooker team; and of course they still have the annual trip to the seaside. The landlord knows how to keep a good pint on tap and at prices that don't hurt the pocket.

There is singing on mondays and you can even have a go your self - mike the dj is a fab person so all the staff . I have found that every one fab. You can go along for 4-weeks you must become a mamber arter that but thats a fiver for a year. ( don't qute me on that i may be worng ). Anyway the only thing i can say is give us a go.

Myself and my friends have visited this venue before on a few occasions since August 2011 up until last night (16/01/2012). We understand this venue to be a private club and members only, however we have never been asked for membership before, all bar once when one of our group was singled out as he had a previous altercation with the bar person known to us as Della this was the only time membership had ever been mentioned and he was told he would no longer be allowed admission to the club unless he took out a membership at a cost of £6.00 yearly. Upon entering the venue last night (16/01/1982) there was myself and four other friends present, we was immediately told by Della that we must sign the guest book and all of us must become members, Della said "this is your last time and you are taking the p**s" as you can imagine this came as a shock to all of us, not the fact that we had to become members but the way we was spoken to by Della, Della then proceeded to say "you are only allowed in six times in one year without being members" as well as informing us we had been in more than the six times allowed prior to last night (16/01/1982). I asked Della when did the year start, Della's reply, "from the beginning of the year" so I said well we have only been in twice this year as we are only in the third week of the year, Della's response "It starts when i f**king say so ok and I don't like clever c**ts" this was followed by some other obscene remarks which we were subjected to by Della. However not wanting to spoil our night any further as it was a friends birthday we signed the guest book as requested and ordered a round of drinks, which we had, then left promptly. Needless to say myself and all of my friends will not be attending this venue again and i strongly advise you give it a miss too unless you like being subject to obscene language and just plain rudeness.
