The Quilt Crossing is a dream store for quilters! The selection of patterns, kits, and high quality fabric is the best I have seen. All the latest colors/patterns/designers are represented for your projects. There is also an active classroom that was full on our visit, as well as a back room with several long arm machines that you can rent to finish your projects, or you can leave it for finishing. The day of our visit a kit caught the eye of my MIL, but we could not find the panel or pattern by itself. When we inquired at the desk, the salesperson was so polite and friendly, she opened the kit for us and sold what we wanted separately (pictured!) as it was the last one in the store. We received excellent customer service even though they were swamped with customers. The only negative comment I have is their prices-very competitive on supplies, kits & patterns, but the highest in the area for fabric (average $13.50/yard). Beautiful selections are available for that special fabric you have been searching for, but not for all your fabric needs if you quilt a lot. read more

I had such a great experience here! My mom and her bestie wanted to go back the very next day and we did! I found all the staff to be friendly and inviting and above all, helpful! She guided me to all the super soft materials and asked her colleagues what they recommended as well. I ended up buying a beautiful print for pillow cases. I do not sew well but my mom and aunt do and I sent the fabric off to them to make my pillow cases for some long rectangular down pillows that I've had for a few years from Germany that I can't let go of! And because of their odd shape/size, only custom cases will do! They have such an amazing selection of fabrics and fun tools! Unfortunately, I will not be going to the quilt crossing any longer and I would encourage you to find a different store instead. First, this place is not particularly friendly. Some of the staff are kind if you speak to them first and are willing to help you. Some of the staff are condescending and snarky. As someone new to the quilting world, I could have done with less of a "are you stupid" tone from one of the staff members. However, in my attempt to finish my project, I continued on. I took in a completed quilt top and picked out all of the pieces to have it quilted and bounded at this shop. This quilt was needed by a specific date and I expressed multiple times that it was a gift. When I brought in the pieces, I was told it would be a 2 week wait period, which was great because the event I needed the quilt finished for was 5 weeks away. I called the week that I needed the quilt and was told that it would not be finished until the day after I needed it. When I pressed stating that it had a 2 week lead time and it had been almost 5 whole weeks, I was told that the person who said that was misinformed. Well, 3 different store employees told me that so I supposed the whole store was misinformed. I ended up finding a different quilting shop in the area to handle quilting and binding the quilt because I was so frustrated. When I picked up my quilt pieces to take them to the new shop, I was told that there was no confirmed delivery or need date in my order. Across the top of the order form it said "need by xxxxx date". I was boiling mad, but I recognize that the person I was picking everything up from was not at fault or involved so I told her that I no longer have any time to wait as they had the quilt pieces for almost 5 weeks when it was supposed to be a 2 week lead time. I will not be going back to this store, for fabric or for services because of this fiasco. I'm so disappointed that I won't be able to give the quilt as a gift at the event I had planned it for. read more

I order the fabric kit for the Judy Niemeyer Watermelon placemats that i was going to make for my granddaughters first birthday in May. 1. Out of the 7 fabrics for the kit only 1 was the original Tonga Fabric. No where on their site did it say they replaced the color for these fabrics. If that were the case I would have sourced them locally. Problem #2 they charged me double what the post office rate was for a priority package. #3 I called to return the package and they want to charge a 25% restocking fee. Forget it. I will find another use for the fabric. VERY disappointed. I will not order from them or visit them when I am in our office in Boise. Thanks for the great customer service i got... In todays economy with the prices of thing sky rocketing you should be going out of your way to make life easier for your customers. you should feel fortunate that I placed the order with you, but you did nothing to make me feel like you appreciated my order. I do a lot of online shopping for my fabric to find exactly what i am looking for and not once have i ever been told sure return it, but we are still gonna charge you 25% because you want to return it, and you have the gall to overcharge me on shipping. Update - they did call me last night and they will be crediting me for the overcharge on the shipping. So if i didn't call and bring it to their attention would they have credited me the difference seeing right on the invoice shipping was 21.05 for shipping. Ladies double check your paperwork when it comes in and compare it to the post office. Shipping should have only cost me 9.98. read more

Thanks to the team here at Quilt Crossing I kind of feel like I am in over my head. These ladies know what the heck they are talking about and are very very smart. I have not sewn anything since what...1992? When I did sew it turned out awkward, but it was fun because I worked with a sewing machine for the first time. It's kind of like a door way into adulthood. Coming here kind of brought back those memories and inspired me to look more into history of sewing and searching for videos about quilting. So, I have this quilt that is kind of old and very ratty. It started off as my first quilt; it was made when I was just a baby. Then when I was a teenager it was used to create a bigger quilt for my bed. I think it was a birthday present when I was about 13. It has traveled from Emmett to Boise to various living environments and used by random people besides myself. This poor quilt is tore up and I wanted to replace the back of it. The quilt got much admiration from the staff at Quilt Crossing. They were very careful with this piece of work telling me how cool this was. Yes, it is cool and was made by my cool grandmother. I looked around for fabric and saw all kinds of cool material that I hope to get at some point. There is a big room where they have sewing classes and I saw a couple of women in their sewing and talking. Definitely something positive to look into during the pandemic. They told me some things I did not know about my quilt. They threw some numbers in there and I noticed that the numbers mean something on those pieces of cardboard. Everything means something. You get those pre-cut fabric squares and you need to understand the numbers are very specific. If you do not get the correct one you will end up piecing together the back of the quilt. It was pretty evident that I have no clue what I am doing, but I was provided with good information and they did not make me feel ashamed. The Quilt Crossing is excellent and very helpful. I was provided with an awesome learning experience and hope to get the time to take their classes. read more

I'm an occasional customer at The Quilt Crossing over the last year or two. Sadly, my latest interaction there was less than pleasant. I purchased some fabric and a few other things a week or two ago. While I was shopping I overheard a rude interaction by an employee with customers about wearing masks. Rather than just nicely asking them to put on a mask, she loudly barked that she would not help them without masks (not every shop or nearby city in our area requires them). Then she seemed irritated that they were offput by her overly aggressive approach. I then had the bad fortune of getting that same employee (her name tag said Lisa) as a cashier. She was impatient, inattentive, and had zero concern for properly handling the items I purchased. My fabric was wadded up like a dirty towel at the bottom of the bag when I went to check the contents. Disappointing. There are some very nice, helpful staff members at The Quilt Crossing who have made my visits there in the past worthwhile! But it's to the point now that it's just not worth the drive to be treated like a nuisance for shopping there. read more

Amazing service! Jessica does a great job and has an eye for detail. In the past when I have gone to other places for repairs, I have gotten my machine back and it still had issues. Once I paid for a routine service and I immediately had to oil the machine and adjust the tension. What the heck? With Jessica, it's a whole different experience. I have owned Bernina machines for over 20 years and never have I received such wonderful customer service. She does a phenomenal job. She's the only technician I will let work my machines from here on out. A+ to The Quilt Crossing for finding such a gem! read more

I have spent lots of money at this store. This fabric store has never been very welcoming at all! Which was fine because I was there just for the fabric. I had many bolts to have cut and the lady acting irritated that I had so many plus I had two minky bolts. The horror!! Then I pay for all my items and get the receipt and then they decide they can't sell my daughter one of the items and they refund it. Like what the heck?! I already paid and had the receipt and bags in hand. It was so weird and awkward! Because of that experience plus the awful customer service I will definitely be shopping elsewhere. Also need to mention fabric is much cheaper online even with shipping. Skip this store and you will be a few dollars ahead and will have a better experience. read more

The Quilt Crossing had great customer service when we were there. This was another of those quilt shops where we showed up at closing time, and they still took time to talk to us. And my wife got her Idaho Row by Row selection. During our road trip, we tried to stop in at at least one #RowbyRow2016 (https://www.rowbyrowexperience.com) quilt shop in each state that we passed through. The only con I will mention is I wish the newsletter was in color. I went to the website to try to see the the classes and color photos but it didn't see to work to click on the class title. New to the area so it was my first time, and last, to buy an item for my Bernina machine. I was ignored completely even though I was in the Bernina area where two women were helping someone buy a new machine. When I excused myself to ask where I could find the item, I was rudely pointed to a wall almost completely obscured by where they were at! Thanks for nothing! I don't need a local shop anymore since nearly everything is available online. The other side of the store seems to have a large selection of fabric which I had intended to look at and probably buy, but I was so frustrated I just left. read more

I bought my sewing machine 12/15. I took it in exactly 90 days after I bought with various serious problems. Their technician couldn't get the machine to duplicate the problem. I have a warranty card that says they will replace it in 90 days. But they told me today they don't think there is anything wrong with it so ... I can pay to send it to the manufacturer to get it repaired. So WARNING!!!!!! Don't buy unless you plan on getting stuck!!!! They lie!!!!!!!!! I have filled a complaint with BBC and the manufacturer!! I will never do business with these crooks again! read more

What a wonderful shop!! I first went in a couple weeks ago to look into long arm quilting classes. This was the second store I went into that offered classes on their website. The first store I went into left me very discouraged and thinking this was probably not for me. The Quilt Crossing completely changed my mind and my outlook!! I spoke with a wonderful gal named Evie (sp) who was so pleasant, helpful and patient even though I had a ton of questions!! She even suggested a package that saved me money on the class and subsequent rental that I'll need. Wonderful lady. I was in again today because I finally decided on a project and needed to choose fabric. I have such a hard time choosing and coordinating colors and was again very pleasantly surprised to find a wonderfully kind, pleasant and oh so helpful gal named Joyce. She helped me with fabric choices and even suggested some wonderful classes coming up. What wonderful experiences both my trips to this store have been. The store is amazing with so many choices for fabrics and patterns and accessories, it could very easily be overwhelming. Not with these fantastic ladies! I can't wait to go back!! read more

This is my favorite quilt store! The ladies are always helpful. They love to quilt as much as I do, and it shows. They spend as much time with you as you need, so you never feel rushed. If you need a supply that they don't have, they are more than willing to order it for you. The people in the long-term section are just as amazingly warm and helpful.
