Did you know a place like this exist? So, if wakeboarding is something you've been wanting to try, there's one out in Crystal Lake that offers a pulley system. Think of it like a t-bar on water. Passes and equipment are all available at the site if you do not have your own. I believe the pass was for about 3 hours and if you are new, then there could be a wait for the cable each time you go. Luckily for me, doing 2 or 3 rounds was what I could possibly take, but I'm glad I got to try this sport out. I was definitely beat. The surrounding area is chill if you want to sit by the quarry with a beer and listen to the live band, no additional fee to enter, just pay to park. read more

Stopped in to the Quarry bar for a drink after paddle boarding at three oaks. There was a private party going on, but we could still get a drink and sit near the water. I had a sangria. It was beautiful and strong. Everyone else had a second round but one was enough for me. read more

I love this place. It's a little getaway right in Crystal Lake. There is a small sandy beach that you can take your shoes off and relax on a nice lounge chair. They have beach volleyball and bags available. Lots of drink options, and surprisingly many food options. The burger is SO GOOD. The sweet potato waffle fries were a nice add and the sauce that comes with them is amazing. If you come here during the sunset and it's a clear day, you will not be disappointed!! TIP: bring your own water, they charge $2/bottle. *There is one thing I thought was weird. Some friends of mine were looking to do their wedding shower here but decided not to due to them still charging $5/person to park there (on top of the fee for renting out the space). My suggestion is that they stop this and let the guests park for free if they are there for an event!!* read more

This place is a hoot! There is a small beach, for sun bathing, no swimming or fishing allowed, but the 2 beginner and 1 advanced cable pulls for wake boarding are a blast. Myself and a few friends arrived on a cloudy Sunday afternoon and after 4 hours of fun agreed to return again for more fun. There is a kiosk where you can rent equipment for boarding and a fairly nice bathroom/shower for changing. Also available are eats; provided by either Duke's on the Water or Two Brothers. Both serve alcohol but you can NOT wake board and imbibe, for obvious reasons. I vote boarding! read more

I went there yesterday. Great atmosphere and good band, but the restaurant (who BTW organized and hired the band to play till 10PM) was closing at 8PM because they RAN OUT OF FOOD!!! Yes, the restaurant ran out of food. It is pure lack of professionalism and incompetent management. This is a nice summer place ... lake, beach, wakeboarding, two nice beach volleyball courts, a bar, a grill, and live music on Saturday nights. But last Saturday, the band had just started to play around 7 pm, and after playing Volleyball we headed to the grill to order some food. To my surprise the staff told us that they were closing as they run out of food. Seriously?!? Out of food on a Saturday evening when you are expecting a huge crowd?!? Disappointing. While they have a large display saying that you can't bring your own food or drinks, we were allowed to order some pizza for delivery. read more

Loved this place, was one of the reasons my family moved out here. Recent no toys on the beach seems fairly targeted at my demographic (I have a 5yo). Thought this was more family friendly. There are posted signs about saving beach which I'm kinda at a loss for - this isn't the Pacific Ocean and there is no tide to pull toys into the water. But that's how they've positioned themselves. Probably not going back anytime soon - this was a good place for the family to be outside and eat and play. If I have to set things up to not have my kid, I'll go someplace fancier. Sorta unclear also how this works out for folks doing the cable park with their teenage kids and who also have younger ones too. Too bad. read more

Currently sitting at the Quarry Cable Park Grill where the Pino Farino band is playing. Sitting at the bar, yet it's quicker to stand in the 20 minute line to get drink service than a bartender serving us. Walked up to the food window to order a $15 grilled chicken sandwich and $15 grilled chicken wrap. Nope.. out of grilled chicken. So $15 cheeseburger and $13 chicken fingers it is! But wait! It gets better! I can't order until someone else's food is ready and they bring back a pager to give me so I am notified when my food is ready! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Nope I'm sttill not done.... I'm then informed it's a 75 minute wait for food to come out! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Look, I get it people dont't want to work in our post-COVID, pre-recession era. But if you're having a band on a Friday night during the summer that will draw a large crowd, an owner should REALLY consider staffing up!!! I was polite to the staff, and tipped the food window well. I will tip the bartenders well. it's not their fault. This owner and manager need to get their shit together. read more

Come prepared and do not follow my example. I'll leave four stars here just for the view and the potential fun in this place. I have yet to come back prepared! Came here on a wiff last Sunday after church and how I wish I had the mommy gadgets in the car! We literally just drove an hour each way to check out the quarry. Wake boarding looks fun for bigger kids and adults but it comes at a price. The pass is 35 (a couple hours I believe but there's an all-day pass for $55 +30 rentals) and the all-gear rentals are 30, total of 65 each. Good thing I'm not interested in doing that. But my son was. Good for me he didnt have board shorts on and no change of clothes either. That's a $65 savings on my part. Haha! $5 parking fee for non-residents to enter but take the receipt with you because you can get $5 discount when u order food at the bar! So there's two sides to this place, when you enter, to your right is the beach (lake) where all the fun stuff happens. Kayaks, paddle boards, and water park for kids. Picnic tables also available. A little farther up to your left is the entrance to the wake board area. There's parking up there too. read more

Rude service when I was here. Took 10 mins to get a $2.00 water bottle. The bartender noticed me after I finally made eye contact with him as he was about to walk away... left my card with him because he didn't tell me he was going to give it back. Bought two beers- after waiting for him to stack cups he decided to serve another gentleman who politely said that I was first before him... there was at most 8 people at he bar.... get people that actually have experience instead of early people in their 20s. read more

Enjoyable place (once you've secured a place to sit). As you can imagine, a nice summer day attracts a lot of people to this unique place in Crystal Lake. Anyone looking to have dinner should understand going in that the table situation is unmanaged by the proprietors of the bar/grill, so it's every man for himself... and that creates a lot of table hovering and tension between patrons. Furthermore, the lack of a managed table process leads to people hoarding chairs and it's very noticeable how many chairs and tables go unused (with the exception of placeholder towels and cellphones) while people use the cable pulls or play in the beach. There's only 15 tables and maybe 4 chairs per table, which are frequently 'borrowed' by adjoining tables. While it's a little uncourteous, I blame the proprietor for leaving this situation unmanaged and not my fellow patrons. The food is good, but there is no wait staff and the lines are pretty brutal when the place gets full. You can stand in line for 20+ minutes to place your order, wait 15 minutes, and then have to go back to pick up your order. This of course exacerbates the table situation as turnover duration is extended to 35 minutes, before people even begin to eat. For what it's worth, it's in a great spot and it is enjoyable to be outside watching people on the cables. This place will be a 4 or 5 star location when they get the table, chair, and food logistics sorted out. read more

This is my second home away from home. I love this place, the people and the entire atmosphere is just so uplifting and makes you wanna try new things and just have a good time. The workers here are stars and will help you with anything you need. Extremely courteous and are knowledgeable on the sport. If you want to take your kids here do it! It's free just to walk in and see the beach and by the end you will want to try it for yourself. Then bar tenders are extremely sweet and help you as fast as possible and the food is worth the little wait. If you are ever on the fence about wether or not to come, do it! My review is for the restaurant area of the park. Service is terrible... was there on a Wednesday night. We ordered dessert from the window after waiting for 15 min we asked what was taking so long. She was very rude and said they were very busy and that we should sit down and wait till our pager went off cause that's what it's for seeing we were having such a hard time standing there. I've been in the customer service business for over 20 years she couldn't believe how we were spoken to. This place is a like a stay-vacation. You don't even realize you're still in Crystal Lake. My 13 yr old daughter started wake boarding here last summer. She had never tried it before and the staff has been so welcoming and helpful to her. Such a family friendly atmosphere that I have no problem leaving here there for the day to ride. If you've never tried wake boarding before, go during the week when the crowds are down to get the most out of tour experience. Sunsets are awesome! read more

Had a very serious safety issue occur at the park. The owner came to me to talk about the issue and was extremely rude and condescending. When I told him I didn't want to be talked to like that I was told to leave. Be very careful here as I don't think the very young staff is trained on the proper safety protocols. read more

This place is awesome. We loved the beer selection, the beach and the wake boarding. I can't wake board but it was a fun and unique experience to sip a drink and grab dinner at Dukes on the Water while watching them. Bar was busy (so slow) but the bartenders were super friendly. My husband's chicken sandwich was better than my burger but both were good. Just a heads up to parents, if you're worried about foul language, this may not be the place for you.
