It's not the most 'manicured' park I've been to, but I really did have a great time and loved being able to stare out at the water. It could do with some general cleaning of the picnic tables under the covered area and benches. I found it to be very buggy, so bring a hat or some bug spray with you. There is a parking lot, but to get to it and out of it, you have to go down a very narrow drive. It basically fits one car, so be careful when entering and exiting the park.

This also connects to other places by paths and sidewalks. A little history about it. It's one of the city's best parks. This was acquired in 1982 through a developer donation, so that was one kind thing from them. A few improvements have happened. In 1999 they added the shelter and first trail. Also they have added fish if you like fishing. The pond has bass, catfish, and walleye among others. Good little park for this town and close to lots of local attractions. It's located on Silver Lake Road north of the railroad bridge. The pavilion also has outlets to charge phones.

If wanting to do something more relaxing but still exercising, there's a trail that goes through it. There's often migrant birds so it's cool if you like this kind of stuff. Great place to play baseball. It's often got busses full of kids pulling up. This is a popular place if you can believe it for bird watching.

As the name suggests this park is made up of an island and several bridges in the middle of the Fox River. There is a walking and running trail, fishing spots (with the appropriate permits of course), and benches and shaded places to sit and enjoy the nature. While we were visiting, the trees had turned color in the fall and added to the beauty of the area. There are some fantastic places to take pictures. The park even comes with a gigantic American flag. For a beautiful park to experience and enjoy, I highly recommend Walton Island Park!

I recently returned with a group to see a presentation slide show and do a guided walk through the bog interpretive trail and had a really great time. It was the first time I'd done the guided tours or experienced the presentations. The docents and people working here are really great and you can tell they enjoy what they do here. They were very friendly and open with our group and everything was very informative. The fall colors were beautiful! I wish I'd seen a muskrat this time but the temp was chilly and they were probably all hunkered down. I did see lots of birds! If you enjoy nature you should definitely visit Volo Bog.

We loved the basketball court with a variety of backboards, sand and water area, swings and rocking school bus. As another Yelper mentioned, the loud train whistle leaves something to be desired. Peace and quiet, if we're going to get specific. Tip: Do not perch yourself on the bench right next to the whistle. Big mistake. This park is worth a visit. The nearby pool looked great too.
