Their "celebrity" pastor Judah Smith and Pastor Jude Fouquier. Left me with lasting damage causing me to almost take my life. The only "sin" I had committed was finally being honest about being gay. I think it's time churches like this are held accountable for giving advice to teens without any semblance of a counseling degree, all while making 100,000's of dollars if not more off the people who attend.

I was a bit worried, as I was running later than I would have liked. However, the service did not start right at 10am, so I was good. :o) Walking up the stairs, I was greeted by the pastor, which is not something that I experience at most churches. It was a pleasant surprise. Yet when I sat down in my seat to await the service, I didn't have a bunch of people pestering me about this being my first time. I liked that there was a balance like that. The service was good, and the worship song selection was great. I only knew the words to one of the songs, but liked the others and hope to learn them. All in all, I felt very welcome. I received a follow-up note from the pastor a couple days later which made it clear that this is a community of people who do care about those who enter their doors.

My 2 year old asks about going to church all week long, he loves the kids program so much and they always take really good care of my 3-month old so I can enjoy the service. There's a great nursing moms room that I've used a couple of times too and appreciated being able to hear the whole service from a private room w other moms even if my baby needs to be fed. The pastor is awesome (and is new since the reviewer commenting on the weird message she heard here back in 2016; I would be shocked if you didn't love the teaching now). My husband and I both love to go to church every week. Love the worship that is fresh but feels really authentic. Love the teaching. Love the kids programs. Connection opportunities TBD cause we haven't taken advantage of any yet but there's a Moms group that people rave about, and I am looking forward to a breakfast that they offer to get connected at the end of the month. I feel as though even people who aren't "religious" could come and explore what faith in Jesus is really about... rather than the overly politicized or judgmental narrative that you unfortunately see in so many churches. I'm in a Life Group too which is just a smaller group of people at the church who are also in my life stage. Those groups create a really safe and open environment to make friends, grow, and ask questions.

Eastside has been a home and a shelter during the craziness over the pandemic and the aftermath. We have found a home based and focused on Jesus, led with love by the very humble and caring pastors: Russ and Ana. Tracy is the current and best pastor my kids have ever had! She personally knows and cares for them and her program and ministry is curated to really teach our kids in the ways of the Lord! The World Cafe on site not only serves up delicious drinks, you are also warmly welcomed each morning by Danielle who currently runs it. She always gifts a drink to newcomers If you aren't convinced yet.... They use all of their profits (including tips) for missions! The love for their community is felt the minute you walk in! The greaters are authentic, the room reflects the growing diversity in Bothell, and the pastor always focus on unity and inclusion for everyone. For example, during the service they offer LIVE Spanish interpretation for our Latinx community. And just this past February we enjoyed a wonderful Black History month full of fellowship. I am new to Eastlake, only having been a few times, but I've seen enough…read more Eastlake Church is not a typical church, and apparently some reviewers hate it for that, but that's precisely the reason I found it so absorbed my attention and captivated my emotions. I believe that at its heart Eastlake is the quintessence of what the future of the church will be. Its a trailblazer that is opening up new avenues for the existential exploration that my millennial generation is desperately seeking. I've spent my whole life in theologically conservative churches (i.e. Assembly of God, Calvinist, etc). I was a minister so I have preached about radical and unconditional love, but it was always shrouded in hope for something in the future, not a place here and now. In Eastlake, I think I've found a place too. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs or non-beliefs. Personally I've moved outside the bounds of my religious and supernaturalist dogmas. I love science, reason, philosophy, evidence, etc but I also yearn for the sacredness of a participatory communal experience. Eastlake is that. The music blew me away with its profound lyrics, the people are friendly, there is awesome childcare (the childcare team is fantastic!), coffee/food, and plenty of comfortable seating. If you are looking for yet another copy/paste evangelical church, of course this is not it. There are dozens all around. But if you're looking for a place to explore spirituality without traditionalist dogma and without weird supernaturalist woo that would make a science-minded person like me flee, this is it. Wonderfully creative, I checked both my girls in and dropped them off to their respective classes. I was able to continue my journey down the corridor passed the coffee shop where they were serving up lattes as we waited for service to begin. I opted out of the fancy cup of Joe to the free tea/coffee table which had a nice selection :) ready to worship, I scurried down the hall passed the nursery room. I saw a little booth where they were offering Spanish translation! Walking into the actual church auditorium was breathtaking. It's HUGE! I picked a seat upfront in what looked like stadium seats. Worship was beautiful! Lots of screens so all can see. The message was what my soul needed. It was refreshing and brought me hope and joy. I walked out of church feeling confident that the Lord is with me and I was exactly where I needed to be. The pastor was kind to stope and introduce himself. After we chatted, I picked up my daughters who were so happy they had gone to church. I recommend this church since there's many ways to get involved; either serve or join an interest group. The Lord is in this place and it's a safe place where you can draw near to Him :)

We came here as a family on Christmas Eve for the candlelight service. They offered five services…read morethroughout the day, and we decided to go to the 1pm one. The whole church was beautifully decorated for the season. There were two official photo stations for families, but honestly, you could take a picture anywhere and still get great Christmas vibes. There was a huge Christmas tree in the center of the lobby and giant nutcracker statues by the entrance--super festive. They also had several drink stations with coffee, tea, hot cocoa, apple cider, plus cookies for everyone to enjoy. The service itself was wonderful. The message really focused on the heart of Christmas and our Savior, Jesus. At the end, we lit our candles and worshipped together with classic Christmas songs, remembering God's love and grace. Our whole family loved it and had such a meaningful time worshipping together.
