It is with great regret to be giving The Pudding Shop a 3 star review, but with the poor customer service I continue to receive, it is completely justified. I have been regularly going to The Pudding Shop for my baked goods, about once a month, or fortnightly if the occasion calls for it, over the past few years. Never does the lady behind the counter smile, act in a friendly manner, or even acknowledge that she recognises me. Maybe it's all that extra weight I have put on since eating at her shop? I kid, I kid. But seriously, would it hurt so much for you to smile once in awhile?
Putting the bad aside, the pastries here are wonderful and cooked fresh daily (they apparently give the left overs from the day to the poor). The hazelnut and almond croissants ($3) are wonderfully filled with said nut and encased in pastry light and fluffy. The chocolate croissant is filled with chocolate, as you would expect, but also with custard, an unnecessary element in my opinion.
If I was writing the review solely on the food, The Pudding Shop would get 4.5 stars hands down, but unfortunately the service has brought it down to a passable 3 stars. read more
