You're able to read your providers' notes-therapist, doctors, etc. I rarely do but something told me to check. A woman I have talked to TWICE put false info about me in my chart. According to her I asked for a narcotic for sleep (which I NEVER did not would I ever). So flag on my chart for drug seeking. Funny I have chronic migraines and I don't take anything stronger than Excedrin. I asked for something MILD to sleep. Also she put me down as a no show for an appointment I never knew I had!!! Three out of three appointments made (both in person and by phone)... and each time my appointment was cancelled without notifying me, the patient. Completely unprofessional and detrimental to already at risk clients. I will advise anyone I see to steer clear from this place. I will be reporting to the state. ...just came back because my lhcsw just called me back to put all the blame on me for them cancelling my appointments with ZERO notification. This place is absolutely unprofessional and you think dealing with people with mental health they would be held to a certain type of standard. Telling me an apt time is the time I'm going to go by , if someone tells me my apt time and the automated system tells me a time and has me confirm that time , why would I assume I have to show up earlier than my expected time. And no apologizes , just ( nobody told you to come earlier ) obviously not. They have no consideration , and obviously terrible communication they don't even care , they just move you along. No services moving forward for here, I should've known to stay away from the previous reviews to begin with , nothing really has changed here. I wasted months going here, hoping to be helped with my diagnosis of PTSD/MDD/Panic disorder. The "team" I was assigned to clearly weren't all on the same page or even in the same book. Dr. Feroze should have his license reviewed and/or revoked. He made errors with my prescriptions and refused to take any accountability, instead blaming the wonderful people at Genoa Pharmacy. Dr. Feroze seems ambivalent as to which medications to prescribe, and is incompetent as to how to use a computer. My case worker was nice enough, but when it came down to actually addressing the real and serious ethical issues occurring at the Providence Center, she blew me off and quickly wanted to change topics. This case worker has been at the Providence Center for 20 years (as she herself told me) yet is unsure of how the computer systems work, and told me she was unaware the Providence Center uses text message notifications to remind patients of appointments. Or at least she claimed she didn't know. In fact she seemed to be unaware of how quite a few things worked, or at least she feigned ignorance. I assume she's likely burnt out. That said, if staff members are burnt out, they obviously aren't capable of properly helping patients. Medical assistant Fabio is unfriendly and I felt uncomfortable in his presence. So glad I won't have to see him anymore as I discharged myself from the Providence Center and am seeking real and adequate care elsewhere. I won't miss him, and I certainly won't miss Dr. Feroze. Ugh. Thanks for adding to my trauma, guys! The Providence Center is in dire need of up to date staff training and desperately needs competent psychiatrists, case workers and therapists. Basic computer training for staff who have been there for eons is a must. This is NOT the place to go if you're seeking real help; my mental health has deteriorated due to the the "treatment" I received at this sad joke of a facility. The one and only star goes to Edgar, who works at reception on the 2nd floor; what a nice guy, and considering the things he probably has to deal with working with such inept psychiatrists and staff, he deserves a solid raise. I had my father come along with me to an appointment with Dr. Feroze, where we witnessed him throw away, or in Feroze's words, "destroy" the remaining contents of my VALID prescription for Clonazapam (ie Klonopin). Again, I have PTSD/MDD/Panic disorder. I don't abuse medications or drugs yet I was treated as an addict. I have ZERO history of addiction issues. Anyhow, after Feroze "destroyed" whatever medication I had left, my father and I waited over 4 hours for a new prescription to be processed, which my insurance company denied as it was too early to fill. Had Dr. Feroze not thrown away my prescription, I would have not been in that predicament. He even had the gall to ask if I'd just pay out of pocket for the new prescription, again, AFTER he threw away what I walked in with. You know who recommended I even bring my prescription to that meeting? My case worker. Thanks for the advice! Not. This review is a warning: if you are experiencing severe mental health issues and/or suicidal thoughts, don't go to the Providence Center. It will worsen your condition and leave you questioning your own sanity. Advocate for yourself and don't accept sub-par treatment. Demand to be treated like a human being. Seek out the mental health advocate for the state of RI (Meghan "Maggie" Clingham) and document your experiences and treatment. The whistle needs to be blown on places like this. read more

My name is Adam Babbitt. My father was schizophrenic, my mother suffers from depression, and around age 16 I was diagnosed with a version of bipolar; back then they called it manic-depressive disorder, or something like that. I have been in treatment with the Providence Center since age 4, when my father was sentenced to death for murder. I have had a hard time keeping appointments for years. This is in part due to my mental illness, and also because I have worked full time for years, and a big problem I have had is with the punctuality of the case workers, doctors, and such that I have made appointments with through the years. Some days it is a real time crunch making it to appointments, and with my illness, it is hard enough to find an appropriate job, let alone to keep it for any length of time, so cancellation of appointments has been a regular occurrence for me especially over the last two years, as I have tried to maintain employment, something that thousands of people with the same illness from which I suffer do not even attempt. I was hospitalized at Butler twice last year due to manic episodes. I have not been hospitalized this year, which is a miracle, but it is only May, so we will see how 2019 goes. I lost my last job due to the fact I was being hospitalized for the second time in a year. All that history being explained, I will now get into the complaint that I have with a new case worker named Tenita Valles. She returned my call to the Providence Center last week to tell me that I had "blown off my last two appointments" and that I would be sent a letter about having my treatment discontinued if I didn't go to my appointment, scheduled for two this afternoon. I disconnected the call when she would not stop warning me about treatment being discontinued, after I did not bother explaining to her that there were reasons that I canceled both appointments. She told me that she makes her own schedule, but still could not see me for a week. At any rate, I was early for the appointment, and when Ms Valles was 10 minutes late according to the clock posted on the wall in the waiting room, I wrote a note stating that I would once again need to reschedule. I left, went outside and reconsidered, went back in, and found out that in the 5 minutes in which I had been outside of the building, she had appeared and taken my note. I went in and told the secretary that I had reconsidered, since Ms Valles was already aware that I was out of medication. I had made her aware of that the Thursday, before on a very contentious and rude phone call and she told me she was booked until May 23, so I had to wait a week, which I did. In Ms Valles' office she warned me that my behavior would not be tolerated on her unit, although she was not clear as to her meaning. Granted, I had switched teams twice, because my first case worker did not keep her word regarding helping me with public assistance, so I did it myself. On the second team that I was assigned, I found out a month or so later there was no therapist, so I was forced to request yet another switch up so that I can have a trained person to talk to at my appointments, someone trained to care about my illness. I asked Ms Valles to proceed, since the meeting was already running late, at which point she began in the rudest and haughtiest manner possible to look for a doctor for me, or a therapist, I'm not sure. She scrolled through a database for about a minute talking to herself about how "this is ridiculous" (I assume she meant dealing with me). She asked me whether or not I receive Social Security benefits. I replied in the negative. Then she inquired as to my living arrangements. I told her I live in an apartment. Then she asked me or the second time whether or not I receive Social Security benefits. I replied, "As I said before, I do not." She the told me that I was too condescending, and to leave her office and to reschedule the appointment. That was beyond the pale, as I was reminding her of my previous answer that it seemed like she had forgotten a minute later. the staff is very hit or miss. some people there are very sweet whilst others are awful. i saw a social worker named karen (of course lol) who seemed to hate me as soon as she saw me. she yelled at me a few times and insulted me in a shady way. she quit before i mustered up the courage to report her, lucky her! she's probably terrorizing other innocent people somewhere else..... the doctor, dr. cermik is condescending and somewhat racist. he made fun of a disabled black guy who would go round the building and made gorilla noises imitating him! completley inappropriate! he also is always talking about himself and his family as if its relevant. he asks me how im doing and then when i ask him he starts rambling about his family.....ummm what? maybe he's just trying to be friendly but he does it a lot and its annoying. im looking elsewhere for help but i have very little hope to find a good therapist, i have gone through so many of them..... read more

I have been going to The Providence Center for about 15 years. I have been through a lot of doctors and therapists but I am stable. I'm currently looking for a job and am going through their program. Yes sometimes there are problems, but keep in mind it's a clinic. They take in lots of different types of people. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Be very carful before booking an appointment here,unless you have a severe drug problem or you are homeless and can't seem to get help anywhere else this place may be for you.otherwise stay far away from this facility it's very dangerous and the doctors,therapists and psychologists are all extremely rude to deal with.
