Direct Flow Plumbing - Sump pump installation

Direct Flow Plumbing

We had floors installed in our basement and bath. The toilet was not replaced correctly causing…read morewater to shoot out of the connection hose . We initially called Len The Plumber. The Len The Plumber tech was rude, aggressive and quoted us an astronomical price, telling us we needed a full toilet rebuild. We did not accept the service. I contacted Direct Flow Plumbing the same day. Jerome responded immediately, and came out the same day at the stated time. He was extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue, and repaired it the same night. He was honest and very reasonable. I highly recommend his service.

I do not usually write a negative review. Since I'm a positive person…read more I would give Direct Flow Plumbing ZERO stars if I could. I hired Direct Flow Plumbing and dealt with Jerome to repair two running toilets. They gave me two options: purchase two new toilets or rebuild both existing toilets by replacing all the internal parts. I chose the rebuild because I trusted that the work would be done properly and would last. I was charged. $1,200 to repair two toilets. Unfortunately, the repairs lasted only about a month and a half before both toilets started having problems again. I contacted the company to have them come back and stand behind their work. They told me four or five different times that someone would be sent out, but nobody ever showed up. My renters were left dealing with the problem, and I repeatedly followed up by phone and tex. Now they aren't even returning my calls or messages. They offered to replace the toilets for approximately twice the price. I chose to have the existing toilets rebuilt, trusting that a $1,200 repair would last considerably longer than six weeks. What's most disturbing isn't just the poor quality of the work. It's the complete lack of accountability and customer service afterward. They took my money, the repairs failed, and now they won't even come back to look at the problem. I've never felt so ripped off by a plumbing company. I would strongly recommend looking Unfortunately, I now have to. What a mistake using them.

Messaged a few contractors here on Yelp for last minute projects we were looking to get done before…read morewe rented out our townhome, and Jose from Hernandez Contracting was the first to respond to my message. He was able to come by our place on the same day for an in-person quote and after deciding that we wanted to work with him, he was at our place ready to work the very next morning! He said he was able to come by to start work at 9am the next morning, but he was there not only on time but a bit earlier by around 8:30am! We had started off with 3 projects for him, which he quoted us for, but I ended up asking him if he could do more little projects, and he was able to take on anything we asked of him. He's awesome, he was even so respectful to take off his shoes when he worked inside our home. The projects he was able to complete for us was: 1) carpentry work in our garage (to secure some previous work done before we bought our townhouse, there were some unsecured wooden pillars barely holding up a wooden built-in storage shelf). Jose even told us how he would make it even more secure by adding more pillars where it would hold more weight on the shelf and be more secure; 2) filled up a hole in our wall, he was able to patch it up with drywall and matched the exact paint and by the time he was done and paint dried, you would never have known it was there! 3) he installed a new storm door for us, our previous storm door had a broken door handle, and Jose was able to install a brand new storm door that we had purchased, he even made sure that the storm door we bought was the correct measurement. 4) Jose installed new hardware on our kitchen cabinet doors, they were all aligned! He took the project off our hands. 5) upon request he was able to fix our closet door that wasn't aligned properly, so it didn't shut! When we bought the house it was like that, Jose fixed it! 6) he glued & aligned some wooden pieces coming off that were framing our attic crawl space. 7) he went above and beyond to find some new window screens that we couldn't locate locally, so he drove to another state to look for it the very same day! He wasn't able to locate it, so he ordered the correct sized window screens and installed them as soon as he could after it came in the mail! He was able to get most of the work done in just 2 days! Minus the window installation, which was done as soon as possible, once he special ordered it and after it arrived! His preferred payment method is through Zelle. Jose is an amazing handyman! He is punctual, very reliable, kept his word when he said he would come by and do our projects, and did great work in a timely manner. I would recommend him to family & friends, and we will definitely work with him again.

Onestop Kitchen & Bath - Waldorf - Dual Sink Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

Onestop Kitchen & Bath - Waldorf

We did a total master bathroom remodel, scheduled a consultation and Shay Foreman came to our home…read moreand listened to what we wanted while providing critical suggestions and feedback and answering all our questions and concerns. She took measurements and our information and promised us a rendering of what out new bath would look like. We gave her creative liberty (because she is the expert) and she showed us a beautiful design proposal. Next came the selection of the materials we were to use, again, the patience Shay showed us is really appreciated since we are "novices" at this. She offered color suggestions, color compatibilities, texture differences and price ranges for the suggested materials. Not once was she "pushing" a certain product or style, although she would offer counter points to ensure we were looking at all possible angles. After looking at four other proposal/offers, we decided to go with Onestop because of the experience already and the price/value promised by Umut. Then came the in home measurements and design, this where Rommel and his team came in and verified what we wanted. We actually did a mid-construction adjustment because of Rommel's suggestion which we welcomed. This adjustment did cost me a dime. Again, very much appreciated. They said it would take up to six weeks to complete, but they were finished in three. The workers were very professional, laying down protective mats when they began and cleaning up after the day. They were also very proficient and letting me know what was going on. Umut came in and did the final inspections after Rommel ensured punch list items were completed. We are very pleased and happy with our new bathroom. The team of Shay, Rommel and Umut is to be envied by other renovation companies. Thank you so much!

The bad part is they want 90% payment before they start. Once the 60% payment was made, communication became virtually nonexistent. I have to chase down the company for basic information and updates. It's been over a month since they received payment and we have not received any meaningful update regarding our project. The expectation is that when they receive the next 30% and actually start, the scheduling and actually completion of the remodel will be a nightmare.
