Hands down our favorite karaoke (noraebang) spot! A+ song catalog and system, pricing, outside food…read morepolicy, and staff! We do marathon sessions (like 6hrs minimum lol) and have tried a number of other places, but this is the best. Their system is super easy to use and it's our fave bc they play the actual music videos instead of those random Jenna Maroney-esque stock ones. For real tho, the MVs are half the fun! Their song selection is really solid too. We sing mostly 90s and 3rd/4th gen kpop and their collection of those genres are great (the kpop catalogs are especially impressive)! Only occasionally is there a somewhat baffling or disappointing omission. (Only one Hole song but it's Miss World?? NO Pixies??) No YouTube access but we don't mind bc of the aforementioned song selection solidness (plus the timing is always off in YT videos anyway.) **Pro tip: the search autocomplete works fine most of the time, but it can get weirdly picky about punctuation/special formatting (like hyphens), so if a song doesn't show up right away, try searching a different way - artist name, song title, spacing, etc. They let you bring in outside alcohol and food for only $5! We always stop at nearby Woori Market or Third World Market beforehand for soju, hot food and snacks. Also: Happy hour from 4-8 every day! Themed rooms! Microphone covers! Online reservations! Shout out to the staff for always being so nice to us, and accommodating our last min requests!

We ended up late to our reservation because of the rain and traffic. I called in to let them know…read morethat we would be late and they said ok, and wouldn't charge us until we got into the room. Keep in mind, they do not pick up the phone until they open at 4 pm. I called less than 5 min before opening and no one picked up. I called again at 4:02 pm and that's when someone picked up. It appears the location and company was bought out by a new owner. The rooms have been redecorated but the couch and such are still the same. They are still using the same system, although it looks to be an upgraded version of the app catalog. I was excited to read that you could load songs from YouTube or wherever if they didn't have it available, but that wasn't true for us. The catalog listed the songs but did not queue it, which confused us greatly. We had a lot of trouble trying to download the app for the phone too. There's a QR code that flashes at the end of a song asking to scan, but none of us could really get it to work. A lot of old but popular kpop songs were taken out and not available anymore. The room was too small for the max capacity listed, and it got muggy. To give you an idea, the glass on the door and people's glasses fogged up. They could really do with an overhead fan in the room or better air system. If you are nearing or at max capacity of the room, it's better to upgrade for comfort. Finally, the service at the counter was abrupt and rude. Customer service skill needs work. Instead of demanding things, start off by explaining the policies and then ask for ID, etc. We weren't aware of the new policy requiring us to leave an ID and a credit card for incidentals, so we were really taken aback by the counter staff yelling at us as we went to the room. Keep in mind they input your CC info in their system and keep your cards for the entire duration of the reservation. While we booked for 4 hours, we did not get into the room until 4:10-4:12 pm. The old owners were honest and charged us the moment we went inside but these new owners not only notified us 8 min before our reservation was done, but charged us the full hour starting at 4. Because of our past experiences here, we left before our time was up so that we would be at the counter right as our reservation ended. The old owners would charge us up tilll we brought back the mics. With the new ownership, it doesn't seem like you have to do that considering how they just round up the time. There is a 4% charge to use a credit card. This was not disclosed upon check out. They also charge $5 PP for alcohol. We brought a cake and I double checked they didn't charge us. They didn't, so that's good. I made sure to clean up neatly before we left anyway. Maybe we will be back, maybe we won't. The service was severely lacking... Might try the one across the street for a change.

We had a year and a half to plan our wedding. I wanted an Asian (Taiwan) night market style with…read morelots of games, but many of my ideas weren't actually feasible. Then I was like what if we can rent a claw machine? I almost shot down the idea because I didn't think it was possible, but my now-husband said we might as well look into it. I'm SO glad I found Golden via search engine. Ofc, it was thanks to the earlier Yelpers review that gave me the confidence to reach out (even though there was only 1-2, but that was good enough for me). From day 1, Golden has been extremely communicative. We met up in Santa Clara to check out the claw machine in person. Then, we were able to meet up in person for the plushie hand off before the wedding (we wanted to tag the plushies ourself with a personalized wedding tag). Even though we booked with Golden a year in advance, he never made me feel like we were left "on read". The pricing for the rental and the plushies was very reasonable. I love how transparent everything was. He had a catalog of options with pricing indicated on there + he even let me switch out some of the plushies because he added new ones. I also personally think that Golden has the cutest plushie options for the claw machines in this area. I loved hearing the screaming of my guests when someone won a plushie. I only wished I was there to see more of it. Interestingly, a lot of people still ended up getting 3+ plushie per person even though I gave them 2 tokens to start with. They had to either do photo bingo, or trade with / take from others to get more coins. This claw machine was a big hit amongst people of all age (well, there were no kids). I was surprised to see my dad already holding 3 in his hand by the time reception started. 300 coins w/ 87 guests (~10 had to leave early). At the end of the night, I stood next to the machine to give people more coins until they won one. We had enough to do plushie toss at the end of the night.

Golden Claw was the highlight of my daughter's birthday party! They had great communication and…read morecame promptly to set everything up before the party started. They knew just how many tokens we would need for the kids to all win prizes and adjusted the difficulty level accordingly. We had fun picking out a variety of prizes from their catalogue including popular characters like Sanrio, Rilakkuma, Kirby, and more. They were all great quality and the kids were so happy to go home with an assortment. If you are looking for a unique party activity, this is it!
