They also do run first-run features - for example, Black Adam is currently screening and they will be getting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the new Avatar flick among others. The YES Cinema is run by a Columbus, Indiana non-profit called Lincoln-Central Neighborhood Family Center, an area organization that assists numerous support systems, i.e. neighborhood improvement, education and employment development, health education. and more. This is a smaller theatre with only two screens. However, it's a well cared for cinema and they host the annual YES Film Festival that just ran this past weekend. You can also rent spaces for business meetings, private screenings and corporate and private parties. YES Cinema's two screens have relatively newer chairs, though they fall short of the more premium/luxury seating options available in a lot of theaters these days. That said, they're quite nice compared to a lot of indie/arthouse options you will find. The screens also do offer Dolby digital surround sound (which is fairly standard for most cinema chains, however, not always for smaller theaters or arthouse cinemas). The employees I met were friendly, the location in downtown Columbus is convenient, parking is free and plentiful, and accessibility is overall quite solid including parking, entryways, and screens. The theatre is clean inside and out and I was super comfortable. In terms of snacks, they do serve wine and beer here. You are not allowed to take in food or drinks of your own and they also have a notice that backpacks are not allowed. You can get a free small popcorn on your birthday (with ID and only on your actual birthday). Fun facts? The first film shown at YES Cinema was White Christmas (2004). The film "Columbus" holds the box-office record for sales at YES Cinema (which is incredibly appropriate - not only is the film set in Columbus, but it was actually filmed in Columbus). Under ordinary circumstances, I'd probably stick with a 4-star rating for the cinema. However, there are two reasons I'm offering up the 5-star: 1) Because of the cinema's charitable roots it really is a movie theater that benefits a great cause. 2) Ticket prices for movies are typically $5 - that's right around half most theaters and even less than some matinee prices here in Indy. They do sometimes charge more for special events, but their prices make it affordable for families and for those on a limited income. There's an awful lot to love here. If I lived near Columbus, I'd be here all the time. If you're in the Columbus area, I definitely recommend it. It may not quite measure up to your more premium cinemas, but it's an awesome little theatre and one of Indiana's true cinema gems.

The Towne Square Cinema has three screens and always offers an adult and child friendly film. I've been here many times with friends and family and am always pleased with my visit. Oh! And on Tuesdays they allow you to bring your own bowl for free popcorn. Can't beat that! So if you're in Winchester and are wondering ... what the heck am I going to do to entertain myself? Just know that the theatre is a great option. :)

Towne Square Cinema offers three screens in a beautiful historic building with extremely reasonable ticket and concession prices. Ticket prices are $7 for a 2D movie & $10 for a 3D movie. In the concession aspect, they offer different popcorn combos and seasonal specials, a variety of candy, dippin dots, pickles, flavored popcorn, and fountain & bottled beverages. Example of a combo would be - 2 medium drinks and a large popcorn (with up to four smaller bags of popcorn on the side) for $11.25 - what a steal. This movie theater also offers private parties (for a great price) where you can watch any of the movies playing, bring in a movie of your own, or even hook up game consoles and play video games on the big screen! Are you ready for this one? You can even host a SLEEPOVER at the cinema. That's right - a sleepover. If you're ever looking for something fun to do in Winchester, make sure you visit Towne Square Cinema!

Not my favorite movie theatre, to be honest. It's a little outdated and everything feels like it's…read morebeen touched too many times. The surfaces look sticky, and there are trails of stepped-on popcorn ground into the carpet. The seats do not recline, so expect an old-fashioned movie-going experience. Although, I've read that if you see a movie in the Dolby theatre, the seats are better, so your mileage may vary. One of the good things about this movie theatre is that it serves beer and wine. I didn't get any during my visit, but maybe I should have. The soft drinks are dispensed at a machine off to the side, and you can pick your flavor of soda. Another neat thing that I noticed: You can order your concessions ahead of time, and they will be ready to be picked up at a little nook off to the side. This would come in handy if you want to skip waiting in line! I don't usually order food at a movie theatre, but I had some food credits burning a hole in my pocket, so I got chicken tenders, mini chocolate chip cookies and pretzel bites for my child. My child originally wanted the Bavarian pretzel, but we were informed that the pretzel is as big as a steering wheel, so we opted for the pretzel bites instead. Who is buying soft pretzels as big as steering wheels? That seems obscene to me. Just make them a normal size? The chicken tenders were actually really good. Maybe my expectations were low for these chicken tenders, but they were fresh and crispy, and you get six big tendies in an order, with your choice of sauce (I chose honey mustard). The mini cookies were served warm, but they tasted a little weird -- almost like they were baked on a pan that had something else on it previously, like chicken tenders. As far as the movie theatre itself: We must have been in one of the smaller theatres, because it felt a little tight in there. But the sound was great, and the temperature was decent, and we generally had a good time.

Why on earth do the seats at Perry Crossing force you to sit up straight like you're in the army? Or some etiquette class? I'm not sure if it's only some theaters like this (our movie was showing in #9). I was absolutely uncomfortable the entire movie. Outside of that, it was clean & the movie quality wasn't janky (trust me I've been to a regal theater & the picture was "ashy & pixelated" like they were showing us a bootleg version ).
