Getting there!
It's a bit too early to be critical of this pub and it looks and feels so much better than the previous pub. It's a pub that's upmarket and maybe a sign of the changes taking place in this part of Harringey as a more professionals start to colonise the area.
The pub lighting looks good from outside but inside the soft tones do not complement the current layout. I really like the bar area which looks very welcoming. I hope that this will be extended to some of the other sections of the pub.
There are many ales to choose from which are'nt your standard Peroni, carlsberg etc.. this is emphasised by the menu which states "independent, small breweries, no mainstream b***s***"... at the price of sounding a snob I must say"Here here!". Mind you the price also can be somewhat high which probably keeps out the hoi polloi.
Currently the menu is limited to light snacks such as suasauge rolls and cheese boards. Speaking with the staff they are planning to open a kitchen soon but the type of food on offer was not clarified. As I drank on a Saturday night I could hear the workmen busy behind the boarded section working on the extension. I hope all this comes soon so I can try out the place again. read more
