Chicken burrito was excellent. Best I've had in Charleston. Highly recommend and I look forward to coming back as of ten as possible!

Feel so cheated and disappointed. 2/10 recommend. We are from San Diego originally so we had super high hopes for this place. The pictures we saw on their instagram made us feel like we finally found a true California Burrito in Charleston! Their instagram is just flooded with their gorgeous, hefty, cheesy, meaty burritos. What we got was pathetic. I've included both their instagram post of their promised burrito and what we actually got. Only giving a 2/10 because their flavors were similar to true San Diego Mexican street food. BUT The side by side and difference is staggering. I mean, we knew this as soon as they handed us the bag because it was extremely light. There was barely any protein in the burritos as you can see. It was basically all tortilla. Even halfway through the middle of the burrito was still tortilla. It was $35 for 2 steak burritos barely bigger than my hand. Honestly feel disrespected that they have the audacity to advertise something wildly different than what they actually are. We feel really cheated and mad.

Waited 30 mins in line for the $5 burrito deal. Didn't realize it was only a promotion on their app and paid full price for a steak burrito, my fault that's on me. Walked all the way home to realize I got a chicken burrito, which is fine but was overcharged for. Really disappointed.

THE PRESS This Burrito packs a punch like Manny Pacquiao From start to finish. It's a rare experience to say no the least. If you have heard of "The Press" it's only because you're not a local burrito lover. Now you can be, the hours for the company are a bit in-different but if you can manage go for spicy. Solid 4.6 of 5

I've been wanting to try this Burrito window for a while but its hours never work with my teaching schedule. Winter break was the perfect time to try it out! Ordered ahead and paid online. Arrived and burrito was ready within minutes. Fresh, hot, pressed to perfection and the hot green salsa/sauce was amazing. I used to live in San Diego and this is one of the best burritos I've had outside of SoCal. And the little pick up window under the green awning...adorbs! Highly recommend grabbing a steak burrito next time you find yourself in the area.

Delicious burritos, with French fries in them, yes please! The mild red salsa is delicious too! I'll be back!

Small place with great burritos! Grab your food to go or eat outside on the patio. Cool find.

It's not my favorite type of Mexican restaurant, as it's a little more upscale than I *personally* prefer, but if upscale Mexican is your vibe, then this'll be the perfect restaurant for you! They had an alright selection of beers, to include a couple of IPAs, but my friends and I didn't really enjoy their cocktails. They were expensive, but lacking in much flavor or zest. Besides looking cool, the taste didn't really match the aesthetic. Furthermore, the food was solid, but not that much better than your basic Mexican restaurant. As for the service, our waiter was nice enough, but he always seemed to be in a hurry, and was walking away while we were still trying to give our order. All-in-all, I'm probably making Matador sound worse than it was, but it was merely a slightly above-average Mexican experience, not a transcendental dining experience that I'll never forget. I'll give it 3/5 stars, and would recommend it based on your personal preference.

The guacamole was exactly what great guacamole should be, creamy with just the right amount of texture, perfectly ripe avocados, fresh lime, and balanced seasoning that made it hard to stop eating. The Spanish rice, tomatillo sauce, and pinto beans were all equally delicious and clearly made with care and attention to flavor. We sat at the bar and really enjoyed chatting with our friendly and enthusiastic bartender, which made the experience even more memorable. Service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding. While the queso and the meat were good (not much of it though), everything else left a lot to be desired. The sauces were not good and kind of ruined the food for me. I'm surprised by how unimpressed we were. It's certainly not awful but wasn't worth $70 for two dinners (no alcohol). I don't recommend it and don't think we'll be back, unfortunately.

I frequent this establishment quite often with friends and not once over the years I've been going have I had a bad experience or dish. The fried mojarra is my personal favorite to get with fresh tortillas. It's always cooked perfectly, not overdone and flavorful. The street tacos are top tier! And while I didn't get one this time, their skinny margs are some of the best on the peninsula. Highly recommend. It's always very clean and prices are cheap!

Fortunately we were early enough to get a place to sit before the line formed out the door. The biggest complaint was the service. They appeared to be terribly understaffed for even a regular day. Service was sooooo slow. Hard to get even water refills. The food did arrive hot. It was very typical Mexican style food. I had a chicken macho burrito. The chicken was overcooked and it had a two shrimp in the filling. Fortunately I have no allergies to shellfish and actually like shrimp but his could have been disastrous for someone else. The restaurant was very loud and could also use some updates. In spite of the large crowd, and being grossly overworked, the staff remained helpful and friendly to the best of their ability which I give them kudos for considering the situation. Probably won't come back.
