    Counter and some indoor seating

Very pricey but a nice space. Plenty of outdoor seating. Extremely friendly owner who is printing money at this location. We can't imagine how much money he makes in the summer when the town is full. We had a few beers before heading to the Cathedral Cove hike (mistake!) and then came back for dinner. We had a lamb burger (small patty nowhere near covering the bun, but great bun and "chips") and a roasted beet & pear and blue cheese salad which was very fresh. There aren't many options in town and you will pay the price for the remote location, but the food is good and service great.

I actually really liked hanging out at the pour house. It embodies a chill atmosphere. The only challenge was to snag a table. Since there are only 2 places to eat in town, competition is a lot higher. If worst case scenario I'm sure you can always share a table with others. Ordered pizza and beer. All good. Our first night we ordered the beer sampler. The pizza was good, but on the thin side. If you're from America, you could probably eat one pizza on your own. The grounds are very pretty. I noticed that the majority of people preferred to sit outside. There is a play area for children. A fire pit. Inside are a few tables to watch whatever is playing on the TV or just listen to cool music. But in the summer, everyone prefers the outdoors as you should be in the Hahei area.

The Pour House is one of the few late night food options in the Hahei area. My friends and I had spent the day hiking and kayaking around the beach, so we were ready to eat!! There's a large outside eating area, but with it being a little chilly that night we opted to sit inside. The staff is super friendly! Also like others mentioned, the atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. For the craft beer lovers, there is about 7-8 beers on tap. I think they're all brewed in-house? Which is cool to try some local kiwi brews. The orange soda is also very good, lol. Not overly sweet like our American sodas. They had a salmon pizza on the special menu. Super tasty, I loved the capers and mix of ingredients. The fish and chips portion is huge! The fish is fried golden to perfection. Lentil soup is also worth trying. It's also a big portion and super hot temperature wise. Get the chocolate cake and raspberry ice cream dessert! You won't be disappointed. For anyone in the area, I definitely would recommend the Pour House! I would visit again if I am fortunate enough to visit Haihei, New Zealand a second time.

Delicious (but limited) menu. But quality over quantity prevailed and we loved the squid salad and lamb burger and fries. The burger and fries here was definitely better than Fergburger or Devil burger in Queenstown.

Welcome to Hahei, Aotearoa (New Zealand). I like the fact that they open late especially if you're a night owl till 11pm?. They serve food inside and outside have different kinds of beers from American IPA to their own kiwi versions. French and British accents is know amongst their wait staff, very friendly and laid back. Comes inside for beer and pizza or fish and chips. Everything is served fresh. It's kinda pricey though but u can't complain if there's alcohol. We got the Red which was flavorful, the chorizo and peppers added a certain zest and spice to it. Crust was thin but satisfying. We also had the fries which was pretty good too considering living up to its name of being the best fries ever! Very crispy outside and soft on the inside served with aioli cheating its way to better tastes rather than ketchup lol. The fish and chips were ok though. And the salad was good because of its freshness. Nothing was heavy, it seemed light to me. I give it a 4.5 stars cuz of its flavor and location. :)I'd come back

Really nice garden area for food & beers. Great beer options on tap and excellent pizzas along with salads & some classic pub food. We went in on a weekday night and it was pretty busy but we managed to get a good picnic table outside. Beers were fresh and cold and delicious, food came out in a perfectly timely manner and was really tasty. We had the artichoke salad and a couple of pizzas. Definitely a great place to eat in town.

Food was AMAZING and service was so friendly and quick. I had the fish and chips (the best I've ever had) and my husband had the chicken Katsu burger. Both were amazing, sauvy b was local and tasty, Brownie dessert was the best ending!!! Would come back 100 times.

Beer battered fish n chips + chicken & bacon burger. Not being beer drinkers we've tried the Pinot Gris which is delicious.

Lovely location on a sunny day in the garden. Beer battered fish & chips were delicious, as was the chicken burger. They have a micro brewery on site but this time we opted for the Pinot Gris which was just right. Only quibble was that the chips had had their 1st frying in low temperature oil, so they were quite oily but while hot, this was delicious! Large umbrellas kept us cool. Too far from the beach for beach views but the garden is pretty enough these were not missed.

This place is great! We spent two nights in Hahei and ended up eating (and drinking!) here both nights. Pizza is excellent and you must try fish and chips. I tried and enjoyed all beers they had on tap but my favorite was dark side as I prefer stouts. Hydrangeas are great backdrop for a warm summer meal. Look forward to coming back soon!

Food was fantastic! First place in all of New Zealand where they had fresh salsa AND black beans. The beers were equally as good. Being used to US New England style beers the NZ beers we had tried prior fell short. The beers here were all great...specifically the IPA, XPA and the Session were our favorites. A great little extra was the tastings of local liquor offered by the brewery, which also owns and operates a local winery and distillery. Everything was great and the owner (?)/server made our experience. Only suggestion I'd make is adding a sheet explaining what liquor is what like provides for the beer tastings Would definitely come back even tho it's a bit out of the way from the town center....hoping they serve this beer locally!

Given it's the brown brewery's beer I'm sure they can spare 20ml and one of the sample glasses to a paying customer who'd already bought a few rounds. The option is a tasting paddle, but that includes styles of beers I know I don't like so it's pointless. We ordered a platter, priced at $29.50 we expected a bit more than we got. The food we did have was okay but didn't really stand out. The rest of the menu was very overpriced (average of about $30 for most menu items) which was more than we were willing to spend on a lunch. Hallertau around Auckland is the benchmark for me in this category and is cheaper/better quality. Sort your stuff out guys.. You have a lot going for you but you're failing at the basics. Lucky for you, you have a captive market given the lack of other options in the area.

The music is super chill (indie pop). Great playlist! They've decorated the place with hipster lighting, hanging plants and wicker chairs. Made for a laid back and chill atmosphere. There's 39 flavours on tap. Huge selection to please everyone (including milkshakes, juices, hard liquor and wine). The menu is split into starters, burgers, vegetarian & vegan, shish kebab and sweet. There's also a separate menu for Johney's Dumpling House; dumplings, siu mai, buns and Asian greens. Short and simple. - Paddle #1 ($12.25 NZD) - we tried all their sours and a cider. Mount Brewing Co. strawberry lime & cider (#9), Deep Creek - boys in blue (#10), Funk Estate - cosmic hustle sour ale (#14), Deep Creek - steam funk strawberry (#21) and Hot Water Brewing - peaches and cream (#27). The sours lacked any flavour or sourness. Tasted more like water juice. The strawberry yoghurt sour ale smelled like jello. All pretty disappointing. The strawberry & lime cider was decent but very light in flavour. - Paddle #2 ($12.25 NZD) - these were all ciders. We tried Zeffer - apple crumble cider (#34), Harringtons Brotherhood - three berry cider (#35), Mount Brewing Co - pear & feijoa cider (#37), Three Wise Birds Summer Fling - apple cider (#38) and Hawkes Bay - ginger fusion (#39). The pear & feijoa cider had a terrible aftertaste and the apple cider wasn't anything special. Our three favourites was the ginger beer (infused with mandarin), three berry cider and apple crumble (tasted like dessert). - Chili oil sauce - this deserves an honourable mention. I think the waitress called this a sweet chili sauce but it was a roasted garlic chili oil flake sauce. Really good and a surprising underlying heat to it. Make sure you get a dipping sauce. - Pork & prawn (steamed) ($12.00 NZD for 10) - NZ pork shoulder and Whiteleg prawn. These were the better of the two dumplings we tried. Thicker wrapping than normal but a generous filling. - Siu mai ($12.00 NZD for 10) - pork, mushroom and corn. Never had siu mai with corn before but these were decent. Definitely filling. - Steamed BBQ pork bun ($3.00 NZD) - this was my least favourite of our dishes. The bun wasn't fluffy and the filling was dinky. - Beer battered fries ($6.00 NZD) - these were light, crispy and perfectly battered. Excellent. - Sweet sesame lamb shish kebab ($12.00 NZD for 3) - served on a bed of 'slaw and garnished with roasted garlic and parsley. The lamb skewers were incredibly tender and well seasoned. The slaw was healthy and roasted garlic chips was a nice addition. The food was good for a brewpub. Stick with the ciders for drinks and you'll be happy.

We were okay with that as we were waiting out the rain, so we ordered some beers at the bar and settled in to a comfy table. I ordered the Bitter Bitch and my boyfriend got the Perriss IPA - they were both so delicious! I love a hoppy IPA and both of these were super hop-forward, so I was in happy land drinking mine and part of my boyfriends (hey, he was our driver, I was doing him a service). I also ordered the shroom tacos (yay for vegan options on the menu that aren't salad!) and my boyfriend got the chicken burger, which came with chips. My tacos were on the "small bites" menu, so I ordered a side of avo to bulk it up. Anyway, also before ordering, the server told us that there was a 15% surcharge on everything since it was boxing day. Um, that's annoying and frustrating when companies push the employees inflated holiday pay charge on to the customer, but it was raining and we just wanted to chill so we agreed to the charge. All together for two beers, a chicken burger and mushroom tacos with avo, our bill came to $68. That seemed completely absurd to me, I'm guessing the beers were more expensive than we had planned. Oh well, life goes on. The food was super good and so was the beer, and the lighting in here is great for photos as well. I would recommend this place 100%, just know that you will come out with a significantly smaller bank account.

One star for good atmosphere, but the rest was disappointing. My friends and I walked directly to find this brewery only to be turned away because of our IDs. Isn't the drinking age here 18 anyway?! Highly disappointing... Food is typical overpriced bar fare. A disappointing way to end an otherwise adventure filled day.
