My brother got married there this past weekend. When the bartender/event manager showed up she walked around taking peoples drinks away stating the bride and groon were going to lose $500 per person and had lost their deposit....there were no signs saying no outside beverages. She had told the wedding party they could bring a cooler. She proceeded to complain to every customer that walked up to the bar until well past dinner. The sound system was awful. You could not hear any of the ceremony. The music was loud. You could not hear/understand anything the DJ said. Or any of the speeches. At one point the bartender/event manager told my brother he had to clean the men's bathroom or lose his deposit. When asked if someone could empty the trash cans, she said that is cost extra and was not paid for. She did not provide garbage bags for a guest to do it. Their hired security guard (by The Post) was also incredibly rude to guests. He did not ask what people were drinking on the porch....either took their drinks or demanded they dump them out...including little kids' shirley temples, lemonade, waters. And when he was told he was rude he replied that some people are just too sensitive. There are no signs in the building that state "no alcohol beyond this point". No signs that say no outside beverages. In the bathroom-which I did not need to use until 930pm...there is a sign saying the hosts of the event are supposed to inform their guests of the rules... The air conditioning worked well....to the point my uncle and I needed winter jackets to eat dinner comfortably. The bartenders were charging one price before dinner and $2 higher after dinner for drinks. When asked, the event manager said it was top shelf....when the order had not been for top shelf. I could go one.... The location is incredibly lovely and convenient, however the service provided was beyond horrid. read more

The venue looks absolutely beautiful after the new renovation. However, the new management is awful to work with. The manager would wait days to respond to any questions we would have about our event. We were promised many things including 25 rectangular tables, however, there were only 18 rectangular tables come the day of set up. We then were informed, a week prior to event, that we had to be the janitor for the building, including scrubbing toilets, cleaning mirrors, cleaning kitchen, and mopping the entire building. Just to receive $50 back out of a $250 deposit. Don't expect quick response, if any at all. It definitely was not worth the headache to have our event here. read more

The bar manager ripped my beer out of my hand and stated I didn't buy it from them despite doing so. Reported me to the brides father which embarrassed me severely. Horrible experience at this venue!!! Do NOT recommend!!! Get rid of her and you might have a better turn out for your venue!!!!! read more

My friend had her wedding there tonight. The event manager targeted my fiancé (a bridesmaid in the wedding). She took three beers away from her that we paid $5 each for. The last time she very aggressive and threatening to my fiancé. The event manager kicked her out of the wedding she was in and made a scene in front of the bride and groom. I would not recommend this place if you want your party to feel safe for guests and attendee. read more

The Post was a great venue and LeeAnn was super great to work with! Our wedding was back in September and we did our ceremony and reception out there. Mother nature decided to not let us do our ceremony outside like originally planned and LeeAnn gave us many ideas to help get it set up inside and it all worked out great! The only things that I would recommend improving on would be more fridge/freezer space and better sound/speaker system. Otherwise LeeAnn was very kind, fun, supportive and great to work with. The Post has been around for forever! This building is a part of the Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation. The Post is an indoor venue with a private outdoor courtyard and lots of parking. The rustic frontier front and pioneer village in the backyard is a perfect setting for family reunions, holiday parties, dances, music venues, weddings & receptions, and more. The inside is spacious and could hold about 100 people. This place can easily be set up for whatever you want (see pictures)! It's clean, it could be more modernized (still feels very dated like 70s/80s). Overall, I am a fan of this place, not bad for Mandan! read more

I was at a wedding this past weekend and had horrible experience with this venue. Sound system was not working for the ceremony and the mic kept making horrible loud noises during reception for no reason. Could not understand the dj at all. Bartenders were not on time to open bar and were very rude when ordering drinks. Lights bulbs were burnt out inside venue and security guard harassing guests for having ice cubes with nothing else in cup on porch to the point of taking it out of guests hand. No signs posted saying no beverages out on porch until you went to the bathroom and it was only for alcohol. So why was he taking all drinks and who only posts signs like that in the bathroom no sense. They seemed to charge whatever they wanted for drinks whether top shelf or not and when asked about it got severe attitude felt very unwelcoming by staff. read more

The Venue is beautiful, but they are difficult to work with. Had to clean the entire place after event ( including scrubbing toilets, clean mirrors, kitchen, sweep and mop floors) and only received 50.00 back from a 250.00 security deposit because the floors weren't mopped well enough. it's taken me so long to write this review and i've thought it over and over in my head we got married in april and the venue itself is so beautiful and fun however, leeann is the WORST person to deal with. let's begin with her missing our initial walk through because she got me mixed up with someone else at a different venue. i should have ended it here but, as i said, i love the post venue. wedding planning was horrible because she kept losing my plans and ideas so i would have to resend them and explain it again. when i would ask for quotes, leeann would tell me she would get them to me within the week and 2-3 weeks later i would have to ask again, since she forgot. leeann would verbally agree to things but then either forget or screwed me over in the end. 2 days before the wedding, nothing was ready. my family and i went to set up chairs and tables but we didn't know where to put them or what to do since leeann wasn't there to help. come wedding day, my dad showed up early to help with the cake, at 11am nothing was set up or decorated and my wedding started at 2pm! leeann was literally decorating as guests were coming in and sitting down. leeann turned my music off because she personally didn't like it, she was constantly in the way, and she was very rude to my guests (according to my guests.) when it was time to eat, leeann put the food away after everyone had one serving, which left me with a lot of food to bring home. after the ceremony and reception, we were asked to put tables and chairs away and start clean up. this started a big war with leeann because she verbally agreed clean up was to be done by her and whatever minions she had and the package i bought states she cleans all decor and post property. leeann had me and my family do all cleaning. since i was unaware this was to be done, we went back the next day to complete it. when i tell you this venue was disgusting, not even from my event, i mean it was dirtyyyy. there was dried mud under areas, alcohol bottles (we didn't have any alcohol), cigarette butts, tape all over that wasn't used for my decor, and so much more. the option was to either pay another $800 and have leeann pocket the money since obviously she doesn't clean or suck it up and clean to get my deposit back. leeann was very rude and unprofessional. she got upset when i confronted her about the agreement on my package i bought. leeann locked herself in her vehicle to cry then left the facility when my maid of honor i and i found her to talk. speaking of unprofessional, leeann stopped answering my texts and calls so i didn't know where cleaning supplies were or where some things went. not to mention all of the cleaning supplies were so old and didn't even work. leeann didn't let me bring home the florals I PAID FOR because she said they were post property. leeann then began saying how i didn't fully pay and i should be thanking her even though i asked her numerous times how much i owe her and what i have left to pay. i contacted sixteen03 and the owner was also so disgusting and excused all of leeann's nasty behavior. it was constantly a battle because all these guys did was make excuses. i knew there was no way i would win and i just wanted my deposit back and nothing more to do with this business. i'm sure there is so much more that went wrong that i'm missing here but please please don't work with these people. they are disgusting and take advantage of people. read more
