There's only one way in and out of the garage (that I saw). Drivers truly have to have patience and just know to let others in front of them. The parking spots themselves weren't very tight. Luckily there are little lights indicating if spots are open. They are signs for certain sized vehicles and certain number of passengers. Unfortunately, it was so chaotic and crowded, I didn't get a chance to take pictures The kiosks to pay are located near this entrance/exit. There is an app available to pay which would make life so much easier for those that come here often, available at wharfdc.com! Being that it is DC area, prices are not cheap for parking, but there's definitely the peace of mind parking in a garage.

There was an impressive amount of restaurants, hotels, and concert venues in the area. We entered Union Stage for our concert. The upstairs area had a bar area and a e had to descend downstairs to the concert hall venue. We grabbed a quick bite of snack options at the bar area and a drink: the snack was tasty, the drink ok, but overpriced, and the service good. The ambiance of concert venue was moody and dark, but in a good way, enough for you to enjoy the atmosphere while taking in the show. Note: the venue is standing room only, so make sure you were comfortable shoes. All in all, we enjoyed the concert and look forward to coming back and exploring more of the concert/food options here.

So we parked at Colonial lot #2, Sutton Place, which is across the street. So it was convenient and safe. But the rates were not well explained. It says daily max rate is $36. We arrived at 3 pm and left the next morning at 11 am. So we were there for 20 hours, and the bill came to $60. At that rate, I could have used the hotel valet, which would also have afforded me in/out privileges. So buyer beware.

Sedans compacts maybe mini vans and small SUVs can do it but DISREGARD if you have a pickup truck or full size SUV. Fire sprinkler pipes AT 6 foot. I think what happens is that I mindlessly walk through here as I use it as a passageway. I need to start paying attention to what is in here and keep note of it. Basically this is a mall. Like every mall just about everywhere, they are without some businesses. But, I will say this about the DMV area, even with some shops being empty, the malls still know how to draw people in. Even if it is just for the food options. This place has a ton of food options and some of the places in here are the only place in DC to find them, or at least a place where it is fairly easy to get to in order to visit the business. They got the run of the chains you would see in almost any food court. Charleys, Five Guys, Jamba Juice, Moe's, Panda Express, Starbucks, Subway, etc. But there are a lot of mom and pop stands mixed in. You can definitely find something for your lunch or a quick snack. This is one of the only places I have seen a Church's Chicken in the city. It can be a maze walking through here, especially if you arrive via Metro. But like I said, it is a great passageway to get yourself to areas without having to be outside. With the Spy Museum on the one end it's a great place to spend a day in the city. The Wharf not too far either. There are a few shops throughout as well. Mostly open during daylight hours if you need to grab a thing or two. Everything from a post office to a convenience type store. If you are lucky enough to work nearby, I am sure this is busy around the lunchtime hour.

The National Mall is over 1,000 acres of greenspace, museums, gardens, sculptures, and iconic landmarks all in the heart of downtown Washington D.C. Situated along the thoroughfares of Pennsylvania, Constitution, and Independence Avenues and all cross streets in between, The Mall is open 24/7 with exception to closed door museums. On a beautiful day, the area can seem like a paradise with its ponds, fountains, tree-lined streets, and gardens. Visit during the spring and you can witness the country's most beautiful displays of cherry blossoms and seasonal flowers along the Tidal Basin. At night, the monuments are beautifully illuminated, which can be seen from every vantage point low and high. Much of The Mall's exhibits are best seed during daytime hours. Many of the highly-populated areas are well-lit, however, please be careful as some of the areas around the Tidal Basin, Constitution Gardens, and and Haines Point (East Potomac Park) are dimly lit if not devoid of any lighting at night. However, overall The Mall is generally safe as tourists frequent the area in packs at all hours of the day, but be smart and proceed with caution when walking along The Mall at night. You can spend multiple days just walking and sightseeing along the avenues. A week might be enough time to visit all the major museums. The Mall also hosts many activities and annual events like collegiate commencements, group tours, photography, sports, kite flying, and other pastimes. The Mall is also home to the East Potomac Golf Course and tennis courts. East Potomac Park is perhaps the least glorified area along The Mall, however, it is a great open space for walking/biking, people-watching, picnicking, and dog walking. There are many fields throughout The Mall where locals participate in competitive sports leagues such as VOLO. Often, you'll see large groups playing volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball, football, and even local college teams practicing their water sports along the Potomac River. TIPS: Check the forecast before visiting. Unless you are visiting one of the many museums, The Mall is all outdoors, so ensure your day won't be ruined by weather. Arrive early for parking. You can park along Pennsylvania, Constitution, and Independence Avenues, however, pay close attention to and adhere to parking signs. I recommend downloading the Parkmobile app to pay for parking. If strictly walking around the mall, I recommend parking along a main thoroughfare and walking along the perimeter of The Mall. There are private food and ice cream trucks along The Mall. You can also find refreshment stands and gift shops in and outside of museums and monuments. You'll also find street vendors selling cold soft drinks, water, and ice cream. Bring cash to limit credit card exposure to private vendors. Public restrooms are strategically situated throughout The Mall. I recommend packing hand sanitizer and toilet seat covers if for nothing more than when using the restrooms. The restrooms are generally clean during the winter, however, during the summer when increased tourism outpaces the area's cleaning schedule, you'll need to protect yourself. Overall, a memorable experience each and every visit.
