Our 1 year old mini Newfypoo is thriving at The Pooch Pitt's doggy daycare facility. It's his favorite and frankly ours too (we take him to 3 different places). The staff are friendly and attentive and there is just simply a good vibe here. I was invited to take a gander at the play area when we first enrolled which gave me some comfort. When you watch on the puppy cams, you can always see a large, fun and well-supervised play area. They even have a pool open in the summer time! They are the most expensive of the three facilities we use but I'm willing to pay extra for great care. They offer a small discount if you buy 10 and 20 stays at a time, but it would be helpful if they had an annual membership (yes we like the place so much that we'd be willing to pay for an annual) rather than just limited-visit packages. read more

We stopped taking our dogs there years ago because of their reaction as soon as we pulled into the lot. The dogs would get extremely aggravated and scared. Tail between legs, pulling the leash in the opposite direction, etc. With all the new stories coming out about dogs being attacked by other dogs in their "free run" yard and another dog dying last month , it all makes sense to me now. I'd beware of any place that lets 20+ dogs run around unleashed all at once. Even the best dog handlers ( and they employ teenagers) can not break up a fight quick enough to prevent injuries with that many dogs. read more

They offer it as a service. I had no idea it would be a slap in the face service. I get it my pickup was late. I knew that. I knew that. And I PAOD FOR THAT. SO WHY WAS YOUR EMPLOYEE SO HORRIBLE? AND LITERALLY CPULD HAVE NOT THROWN ME HIM AND HIS LITTLE BAG HE WE T IN WITH FAST ENOUGH. I WOULD LEARN THE ANSWER SOON ENOUGH. YOU DOD NOT FEED HIM. AT ALL. LITERALLY FED HIM HALF OF WHAT I PAID YOU $191 to. Oh and just for fun-so I knew my "isolated" dog was still being "shown love" I was sent 5/6 photos (clearly all taken over 30 seconds) to show me he was being cared for. U should be disgusted w yourself. If my vet records didn't cut it for u and u "can't risk it" why do u wait two days to tell someone? Pets are there for a reason. THE OWNER IS OUT OF TOWN. After reading the story about the dog who was attacked there recently, I went to the Pooch Pitt Facebook page to see their response. Not only the way they are handling it is unprofessional and rude ( they blame the dog, refuse to give any information or at least offer a public apology, etc.)but they also were deleting people's comments as i was reading them! Literally, people's honest and heartfelt comments, as well as screenshots, were just disappearing one after another, with only the positive ones left. Shady, poorly managed, heartless. They blocked me on Facebook because I was commenting in regards to an incident that happened to a fellow neighbor. They also blocked all the other negative commenters and only left positive ones. I called to make a visit appointment. Call was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were toured. We asked questions about safety and videos and illness....typical questions for leaving a dog. The young woman was defensive and aloof. Dodged questions, wasn't clear. Left us believing they were insincere or hiding something. We later called to speak with mgmt as we want to use them but didn't feel comfortable. We were told that perhaps this isn't the right place for our 3year old doodle mix. Rude and we don't know why. Subsequently, we looked at reviews. They have stockpiled positive reviews all in the last week. Something is definitely wrong here. read more

I've read all the reviews here. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and thoughts. Including me, because my dog was bit during her stay too. But I would never blame the Pooch Pitt for that. In fact, the team took such good care of her till we could get there. Allowing our dog to run freely with other dogs comes with its consequences at times. Dogs can get into misunderstandings - it's just a part of their nature. The benefits to free play outweigh the potential risk by a great measurement. Our dogs have such a great time, as we have witnessed in the webcams. I have no reason to doubt that our dogs our in good hands when we are away. read more

I would not recommend the pooch pitt for several reasons - including but not limited to the fact that they do not do a good job of communicating the truth about how your dogs actual day was. My dog was bit, which has resulted in surgery, and more trips to the vet than can possibly be counted. The day our dog was bit, they knew he got into an altercation, looked him over and determined he was fine, put him in 'time out' and then told us he had a great day. It wasn't until the next day, when we called to further inquire (our dog wouldn't eat, move, go outside, and had started to smell from the infection from the bite) that the staff did decide to inform us that a 6 dog dogfight did occur. This is not the only instance of poor communication. I have heard situations where dogs have been put in time out numerous times, and only by watching the tiny pooch cam and wondering where their dog was, has the staff informed them, that occasionally they have to give their dog time out. These are all things that dog owners should be made aware of. I was also told my dog was a grumpy dog, after the fact. If the pooch pitt staff determined my dog was grumpy, according to their standards, I should have heard about it immediately. I would use caution when taking your animal here. They may love it, but ask questions, because how your dog is really doing will not be freely offered. They also claim to only keep their video footage for 5 days, so if anything happens to your animal, do not wait. read more

I am horrified by the negative reviews here. As an actual customer of The Pooch Pitt since around 2016 I have NEVER had a single issue; referred several people here who have NEVER had any issues and have coworkers who have been bringing their dogs here who have NEVER had any issues. I am blessed to have found The Pooch Pitt! I visited several places before finding the Pooch Pitt and I wouldn't leave my Shadow anywhere else. I trust the staff 1,000% with my dog because all I have to do is say "Shadow, do you want to go to your special place?" and he is jumping at the front door. When we arrive he almost always drags me in and knows right where to go. If he was being treated poorly or didn't like going there you wouldn't get a reaction like this. I have watched him on camera if I need a break from work, but for the most part I have no reason to. I know if Shadow is acting up he is corrected or put in time out and I am properly informed of it. When I first made an appointment to see the old location I had to bring my dog and he was evaluated to see how he got along with the other pack members and both of us learned the rules and what we needed to do. There are always people with the dogs at all times and the new location is stunning. Not that Shadow swims, but at the new location there's a pool with fountains for the dogs, lots of room to run, balls to chase and friends to play with. You know they are doing it right when I don't even make it a block down the street and Shadow is sleeping with exhaustion. I've watched my Shadow go from a shy dog who wouldn't go more than three inches from my side to a social butterfly who now wants to go out and experience the world. That is thanks to the staff at The Pooch Pitt and you can't put a price on that. read more

The Pooch Pitt takes in as many dogs as they can on any given day, leading to an unsafe environment for the dogs. My dog has been bitten there twice. The second time no one even let me know, the vet told me when I took her for bleeding from the back of her heel. Not enough staff to watch the dogs. read more

I took my beagle here last week for grooming. The staff was very friendly, fast, and efficient. I dropped her off at 8:45 and they called me at 10:30 to say she was ready. They bathed her, cut her toenails, cleaned her ears, and washed her collar. She was wearing a cute bandana around her neck when I got her. It appeared like she had a good time. There were no issues. I am a first time customer with pooch pitt and very disappointed in the grooming service. I asked in my reservation that my dog not be shaved due to the breed. Well I walked in, they immediately made me pay and out comes my dog completely shaved. Tthe groomer had the nerve to tell me has hematomas in both ears. The dog was great before going into this place. What I did find was his ear is all cut up on the inside from shaving and his stomach. My dog is not the same dog now and very scared of everything now. Not sure what went on there but I am not a happy customer and will not use them again. Obviously the groomer was very rough with him and did not know what she was doing. It is very sad that when you have a beautiful purebred dog and he comes home sad and scared from someone that did not know what they were doing. So now I have to take him to the vet for his cuts! This place should be investigated. Well, after writing this, I spoke with the general manager and basically they cover stuff up and make it like it is your fault. VERY RUDE PEOPLE down to Management..my advice do not take your dog there! I hope they go out of business or shut down. read more

Didn't find all of these negative reviews before I took my dog here to be groomed, but I would've NEVER supported this business had I'd known the lack of attention they pay these dogs. Besides that, I took my dog here to be groomed, shes a miniature dachshund and we were not given even an ESTIMATE on the price. It was $90. I pay LESS THAN HALF OF THAT getting her groomed in NYC. She is a long hair, and they totally botched her ears, leaving them uneven and very weirdly cut. WORST cut I've ever seen on her and at a ridiculous price. read more

I used to take my dog there for daycare but when I realized that they are not as engaged with the dogs as they should be, I stopped. Unfortunately I think this has shown over the past few weeks. My heart goes out to the families of the 4 dogs that died recently, all within the past few weeks. Multiple deaths occurred while the dog was at The Pooch Pitt. The other occurred directly from the poor care given to the dog while at the facility. We boarded our dog for two nights and had her bathed and groomed the day of pick up. We asked the staff how our pup behaved and were told she was just fine. When we got home, we found over 15 deep, bite marks on her neck, back and rear end. We are shocked that our dog endured such neglect and trauma, and that the facility staff made no mention of any incidents. Also surprised that the groomer didn't mention her injuries. We are deeply upset about the lack of care and will certainly never revisit this facility. read more

This place has had a dog die from drowning lately and then two dogs get into a fight where the one had bite marks to its entire face. With that being said it appears that no one is really watching the dogs. They are also deleting any comments or questions on their Facebook that questions what happened. Boarded my two Bichons here on the night of my wedding a few years ago. The only time they were ever boarded in a kennel in their lives. One of the dogs, Puffy, was partially blind but could navigate in familiar places just fine. We went over multiple times with staff that he is not to be put out in the fenced area with other dogs, as he wouldn't be able to find his way around. We also posted a note on his kennel door that he was blind and not to be let out alone. We were reassured that he would be taken out on a leash. When we arrived the next morning, Puffy was outside with many other dogs, shaking with fear because he couldn't see and didn't know where he was. We asked why he was outside after we had been reassured many times that he wouldn't be, and their response was "oh we didn't know." Puffy punctured his eye that day and could never see again, even in familiar places in his home. Never received a call from the owner or an apology. Only posting now because I have heard other recent horrible experiences with pets here. I understand that it is probably a different staff by now, but ownership is the same. They don't care about the pets that they board. Horrible place. read more

Such a wonderful place! We use them for boarding & also grooming for our long-haired Chihuahua. The facility is top-notch, state of the art, but even better is how much all the staff really care for each & every dog that is there. Amy E. - I am so sorry for your loss. My two dogs were there when this tragedy happened. I am writing because my dogs have stayed there 7 or 8 times. EVERY SINGLE TIME I pick them up they are sick. Last week they came home and one had diarrhea so bad I scrubbed carpets for 5 days before she gave it to my male. Just left my vet $300 later with antibiotics etc. Add that to the couple hundred I spent for them to be kenneled (crated as much as they were loose,12 solid hours in a crate overnight), kennel cough vaccines and I am easily at $800 for a 4 day stay of 12 hours each day. That is over $16 an hour and the headaches and lack of sleep from scrubbing carpeting. MY DOGS WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more
