We've visited a lot of churches in the Rocklin/Roseville area and liked a lot of aspects of different churches, but never felt completely at home. Four weeks ago, we decided to see if any churches around this area had a Saturday evening service. There were two we were deciding between, but this church started 30 minutes later, which gave us some extra time to get ready. I was a little apprehensive when we got there, because you never quite know what to expect when walking into a new church. While we were going from the parking lot to the church entrance, we were greeted by a tall gentleman who shook our hands and chatted with us. Turns out he's one of the pastors here. I think his name is Mark. He was so friendly and fun to talk to. After a few minutes of chatting, he pointed towards another guy closer to the front door who he introduced as another pastor. So we get to the other pastor who introduces himself and we start chatting. We tell him briefly about our church search and he tells us that he knows how hard that can be, and he asks if he could pray for us. I figured that meant he'd pray for us later when he got home (especially since there are so many people going into the sanctuary before service starts). But nope, he prayed for us right then and there! I thought that was the coolest thing. I know praying isn't that huge of a deal, but for a pastor of a large church to just drop everything and pray for a couple of strangers he just met....well, I thought it was pretty awesome. So we walk into the sanctuary and I look around. It's a lot of younger people---maybe in their teens, twenties, early thirties? It reminded me a lot of my youth group days. I wasn't sure how comfortable I'd feel there. The music was about to start and several people gathered in front of the stage. My husband whispered to me, "They have a mosh pit???" I was still apprehensive but then the music started and I was BLOWN AWAY. The worship team that day was simply amazing. You know a group has such God-given talent when they can bring you to that heart of worship and you can tune them out, close your eyes, and just worship freely. Their musical skills were very impressive too. Everything, musically, just blended so perfectly together. Probably one of the best worship teams I've heard in a local church. I honestly felt like I was in a concert like Chris Tomlin or Hillsong, with professional musicians (maybe they are). I know it's a good sign when I have to pull out Kleenex during the worship time. Then Pastor Bob Hasty (?) came out to speak and his sermon was convicting, challenging but also very interesting. I left that church service that night and was on a spiritual high all week. I couldn't wait to go back the following week. Songs that we sang stayed in my mind all week, and I was so thankful for that church service. We've been back three more times after that, and there have been weeks where it's mind-blowing like that first week, but also times that have been just...ok. [To be honest, if we had come on weeks 2 and 4, I'm not sure I'd have been as excited to come back. Sometimes when some women lead worship, the dancing, moving, yelling, and carrying on gets very distracting and you're no longer able to just focus on the worship.] If you're visiting this church, you need to stop by when that particular worship team (I'll have to get that guy's name) is leading worship. He has such a gift, and I'm thankful for those two weeks where he led worship for us. Not sure how often he and his team leads....maybe every other week? All the pastors we have met are such amazing men of God. Service starts and ends on time, and everyone is so friendly and caring. They even give first-timers a great devotional book! Their child care services are excellent also! I invited our friend to come, and she brought her 5-year-old daughter to their "Jungle" area. Check in was smooth and her daughter LOVED being there. As we were leaving, she said to her mom, "Can we come back again?" You know child care workers (especially that one girl with the cool purple/blue hair) have done a great job when you have kids wanting to come back to church. It's wonderful to find such a Spirit-filled church in the area that also has Saturday evening services! Wow!

We pray and hope that the Rock has changed, but also have learned that people are human and if it isn't the place for you then move on! Some times it's sad when the church doesn't realize they have the wrong people in certain positions who are not best for the overall body- because I will say there are authentic people there, but I think they get drowned out by the people who are louder. We were trying the usual suspects in Roseville and Rocklin and there was a lot of good teaching but just couldn't get plugged in and connected. Our daughter was 10 at the time and getting her to be excited about going to kids service on Sunday's was challenging for a myriad of reasons. So with all of that said we found a great spot in Rocklin but our daughter wasn't happy. I suggested that we give a local church a try since we live in CH and were well received the first day that we came in and our kid loved the service and made friends on day one. The people are real! No pageantry! Just real people experiencing Jesus! So come as you are and prepare to have an encounter that is real and tangible! This church has shaped our lives in a very profound and meaningful way! We have a small group that we host in our home (which I never thought I would have been one of those people) and we volunteer with the junior high ministry which is great to see you people getting love and support and positivity. A special Novena Mass for Our Lady of Perpetual Help is celebrated in the evening of every first Wednesday of each month where special prayers to Our Lady are said for the family and the community, especially the sick, the dying, the elderly, and the unborn. My family attends this Mass because we do pray for those who cannot pray for themselves. The vibrance of this diverse Catholic community is manifested in the variety of ministries in this parish: Knights of Columbus, Social Concerns, Respect Life, Music Ministry, Italian Catholic Federation, Spanish Ministry, Filipino Ministry, Altar Servers, Ushers, etc. This is laity power and you can join any ministry where you are called to serve! My family serves in the Music Ministry and two of my daughters serve at the altar as well. Ministries make the church move and engaged in the community. Fr George, the Pastor of this 2000-family-strong parish, gets his much needed help from the laity. Holy Relics are often exhibited on days leading up to and trailing All Saints Day. Relics show that saints were real people who devoted their lives to God and His Church. The most intense one is the relic of The Holy Cross. That got me kneeling before it since I first saw it. Fr George will take you around the exhibit to talk about the relics, too! The "tour" is immersive and it takes you back to Church history. Some Holy Relics are also displayed on specific Church days, like the feast days of saints. Child Faith Formation moved from classroom-based to parental instruction last year, with the Director of Faith Formation meeting the families once a month. This is not just a great way to teach my children the Catholic faith, but it is also a great way to catechize myself. This is empowering. Vacation Bible School is the much anticipated event for kids during the summer days! My kids learn more about the Catholic faith as they have fun under the sun with kids their age. Last year, a couple of my kids moved up to be crew members. There is a new VBS theme every year and the songs are always catchy that we play them in the car. Church office staff personnel are courteous, professional, and always there ready to help you when the office is open. Office is closed on Wednesdays and public holidays. We were in the Roseville area this weekend and decided to attend the 5:00 PM Sunday Mass here…read more Overall, it is a beautiful church, though it gets incredibly busy! Here is a breakdown of our experience: * Parking & Facilities: Finding a spot was seamless. There is plenty of parking available, including a good number of clearly marked disabled spaces. Before heading into the pews, we used the restrooms, which were clean and well-maintained. * Inside seating & Perks: We arrived about 5 minutes before the Mass commenced and the main sanctuary was already super full. They have set up extra seating near the exits to accommodate the crowds. One perk I found truly awesome is the dedicated room for women with children located in the library. It features a television televising the entire Mass, which is an amazing accommodation for young families! * Visibility & Crowds: While the extra seating is great, the individual chairs placed near the entrance/exit doors have a downside, there is no monitor setup and virtually no visibility looking toward the front altar. A few minutes after Mass started, I turned around and noticed more than 20 people standing by the doors because of how full it gets. I suspect it fills up immensely because catechism students need to get their Mass passports signed, so definitely prepare for large crowds. Despite the tight space and visibility hurdles by the back doors, it is a lovely and vibrant community church. I'd definitely recommend arriving much earlier if you want a seat in the main pews!

This now review update of any comments I have written for any category, Maestro or Maestra a few notes on the piano if you please, one thousand three hundred ninety eight! Not sure of last comment for this, but very first of comment for this has total of USEFUL, FUNNY, COOL, fifty two total votes! The person at that time that helped me to write the comment! Within five minutes on that very same day, it had at time five votes, now has fifty two votes! As one reviewer said in their comments, I can definitely feel the love of God here at this church! I agree with them! This is a loving church! I even had my of Baptism Sunday here date June 25, 2006! This church does show the love of God and of Jesus! There have been, not sure if anymore because of Mister Corona Virus, but they had a basketball team and a soccer team! I like their way to be sure that children think up to Sixth Grade, so maybe up to eleven years old so maybe up to twelve years old, how the child is given a ticket number to place on their clothing, the responsible Adult is given same ticket number! When services are over, the responsible Adult gives the number to the Teacher, then the responsible Adult is able to take the child with them! With all Child Safety Laws nowadays, that is a very important Security Method! Not sure if all the Teachers wear same said ticket but I did note when I visited the Teacher of the two year old to three year old also had that same ticket on her clothing! Someone say she may have learning disability, but they all really admire her as a teacher! Hurray for this Liberty Towers Church! We looked all over Roseville, Rocklin, Citrus Heights, etc. Here are a few callouts about Bridgeway that regularly bring us joy: -Our main "big church" pastors (Brian, Heather, Judah, and Lance) are incredible. They are wise, kind, humble, and remain loyal to scripture as they teach. -Hard truths are delivered with compassion. Life is weird and people are broken. Each one of us carries sin. -Bridgeway gives locally, and globally, to meaningful causes. -Our church body is diverse. (There is also a healthy mix of age ranges.) -Our pastors love Jesus and purposefully preach the gospel. You will not hear them pushing politics on the congregation or "othering" certain people groups. -If you have children, our Kidsway Program is a 10/10. Pastor Ashley is wonderful! Kiddos are placed in their own age-appropriate rooms. Staff have figured out the perfect balance of play and learning. Volunteers are vetted. Safe check in & check out procedures are on point. (And this is the only church our daughter actually enjoys attending!) -You can attend services on Saturday or Sunday. -Come as you are. Sweatshirts or flip flops will do the trick. -They always stream their services online as well, so if you can't make it in, you can still watch the sermon from home. Our Creative Arts team is top notch. -Bridgeway offers a variety of classes, community groups, and events most weeks. ~~~ *Cons:* -This is a pretty big church. To form authentic connections with others, you will likely need to volunteer or join a community group/class. -Worship can be a little loud and flashy. (The 8:00am service is mostly acoustic though.
