We went here about 3-4 times. Everybody seemed nice although nobody approached us and I do not think anyone was aware we were new. It is very easy to slip in and out and not be noticed. There is a traditional and contemporary service. We only attended the contemporary one, which has a band on stage and very casual atmosphere. The music lyrics were biblically-based for the most part, although there were interesting moments where there would be no singing and time was dedicated just to a guitar or drum solo - it felt like a rock concert during those times and the band was the focus of the worship.
The sermon consisted of a short presentation, which consisted of approximately 70% anecdotes and personal stories and 30% biblical content. I felt we learned a lot about the pastor and his life, but not very much about the Bible. Whatever material was discussed consisted of how to apply biblical principles to personal life situations. It was a very typical self-help message covered with a veneer of jokes and story telling. Not much said about the Gospel or how Christ fulfilled the works of God's law, or how Christians have the hope of salvation through Christ's works and the cross. In short, the church appears to focus less on traditional Christian teachings and more on self help or morality. read more
