Review Highlights - Heights Church

I liked Pastor Craig from the minute I heard him and have been there to see him grow and help build the church to what it is today.

If you are looking for a church with people who have been through the best and worst this life…read morebrings, with a pastor who is as humble and down-to-earth as they come, and for a sermon that isnt going to sugarcoat the truth God has for you, check this church out! I started attending this church in 2012 quite apprehensive after my previous church in Roseville left me alone and broken after many years of dedication to them. Upon my first service to Church of the Harvest, I felt like I was in a safe place, surrounded with people that had walked all paths of life and didn't judge me for the current life I was leading. My boyfriend, (at the time), was far from the Lord and had no real desire to be apart of any "church" like those he had grown up with. But Pastor Dan wasn't someone who just got up on a stage and preached to his congregation than vanished the next 6 days a week. "PD" a.k.a. Pastor Dan, made an effort to meet my boyfriend at his level outside of church walls. They got to know each other over talking about cars which was the passion of my man. Without pushing my boyfriend to come to church or telling him that he had to have God in his life, PD simply loved on him like a brother of God should. In doing so, my mormon raised, bitter hearted, church hating man had began to ask me if he could join me at Church of the Harvest. Ashamed to have my sin filled life exposed to this new found church I hesitated and wasn't sure I wanted to share that part of my life with all these new people I barely knew. Although I felt embarrassed, I knew in my heart that my boyfriend and I both needed the Lord in our lives. So we went, together. To my surprise, they welcomed us both into their church with open arms. They were able to get us connected to others, yet did not push us to be involved in ways they saw fit for us. They lead us and supported us both, growing our passion to know the Lord more. Over time, my boyfriend's heart softened as did my own. The Lord used the COTH friendships we established to see HIM in a new light. COTH has many ministries that I have never seen other churches do. They go out every week and talk about God to people out on the streets. They visit children's hospitals and give hope to kids who may not get that from anyone else in their life. They even work with prisoners and help them know that God has not forgotten about them and loves them despite what sins they have committed. Additionally, the COTH congregation supported our marital union and allowed us to take our vows in their home. The women's ministry was such an amazing blessing to us, helping me plan our wedding with a budget anyone could laugh at and one of the staff leaders gave us counciling to resolve some much needed baggage we had held on to for much too long. Truly, if it wasn't for the wonderful people at COTH, our relationship may not have survived. We are still happily married but, very sadly, had to relocate out of state and are no longer attending COTH. We both miss everyone there very much. In fact, we will catch a sermon once in awhile online now just to hear PD preach! We look forward to attending any service we can catch anytime we are back in the area. I hope if you are reading this, you give Church of the Harvest a chance to show you who they are despite what others say. Let the Lord guide you where He wants you to be and trust that He will be by your side every step of the way.
