I love this place. Was looking for something to do since I'm stuck in Selinsgrove over the weekend and found this little gem from out of the past. Living in Washington DC there aren't many options for drive in movies so I was happy to be able to do this. This drive-in has three screens each showing a different double feature at the same time. Right now this is only offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday but the company website promises that seven day a week service is coming sometime soon. Picture and sound quality were excellent by the way. In terms of food, the concession stand carries your normal fare from a movie theater but at much reduced prices. Tonight there is also a barbecue going offering pulled pork, sweet Italian sausage and hotdogs along with freshly squeezed lemonade and orange juice. There are patio tables outside if you'd like to have a picnic before the movie. The cost of admission is a bargain at just $8.50 for an adult. Lots of specials offered including a pack the car special where you can pack the car with as many people as you would like for $22. read more

Showing my age, I grew up in an era where drive ins still existed, but were fading out. Yes, I'm bordering on the millennial generation. Needless to say, this place made me nostalgic for my childhood. We went here a couple of weeks ago bordering on the end of summer beginning of fall. $8.50 per person on a Saturday night for a double feature. Amazing price and it got better as we went inside and bought concessions. Everything was made fresh to order, nothing really to write home about as far as the taste of the food, it was as you can call it typical concessions. The price though....We got a cheesesteak , pierogis, fries, popcorn, and a couple of sodas for under $20. What can I can't, I'm an expensive date. Next comes what makes it all worth it, snuggling in the car on a semi chilly night watching scary movies. Perfection and romantic. I wish they were close to Philly, but they give me a reason to come back. This place was everything I remembered from my childhood and more. read more

The great things about any drive-ins apply to all drive-ins: you can watch a movie in your car, with your seat back, shoes off, smoking, your kids being noisy jackasses, talking when you get bored without getting shushed (or you know, you can watch a movie in your car and not have to deal with people doing any of the above). You can also sit outside on lawn chairs or blankets and listen through a boom box. Because the sound is now on FM radio stations - weak little stations that can't be heard much further than the screens can be seen but still - you have a radio, you can hear the movie. The minuses to drive-ins are that the sound is not going to be fantastic, nor is the picture quality, when compared to a digital stadium-seat theater. But did I mention the smoking? And taking off of shoes? I did? Fine. For the uninitiated, this particular drive-in is located between Northumberland and Danville, just west of Danville, on Route 11. It's best to get there before it gets dark since the movie starts whenever they deem it is dark enough. Until that time, it's basically a park. Bring a ball or a frisbee to throw to kill time. The Point does first run movies in double feature format - meaning you pay for entrance to one of the three screens and each screen shows two different movies a night. We happened to stay put for our double feature but I don't see how they could stop you or object to you pulling around to another screen for the second feature if you wanted to mix and match. You need to be mindful of the weather - they won't be open when it rains and if you want to watch outside, you'll need to think of bug spray and layers in case it gets cold after dark, etc. The Point Drive In is in pretty good shape. There are three smallish screens and the grounds were in good shape when I was there last. The concessions were not as expensive as the digital stadium, either. Plus which, it's not like they inspect your car for microwaved popcorn or fried chicken boxes or nothing. You should go there. Or to any drive in you are near when the mood for a movie hits you. Because they are good places to experience, will not be around much longer if more people don't, and you can smoke there. And take off your shoes. read more

I love this place and enjoy going many times every summer . Prices to get in and for food can't be beat and also offer season pass On the weekends sometimes they have an outdoor BBQ With that said .... There are so manny improvements that could be made The grass is sometimes very high and makes in uncomfortable for people who sit outside there cars . This also breeds more flying insects and hide cigarette butts that need to be cleaned up daily . It also seems to be a dumping ground with old campers and broken patio sets along with other trash around the main bldg. inside looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years ,very outdated and I'm not sure what a health inspector would say if he walked in I won't even mention the bathroom , just make sure you go before you leave home . I know that Dave the owner has had some serious health issues along with the change to digital format has hurt them in the wallet ,but the things I have mentioned are of very little to no cost at all This place could be Awesome if a little money was put into the Decor a couple of buckets of paint and a change in the menu . This doesn't just have to be just a run of the mill drive in . With little effort this place could be a destination and packed weekdays . If he would just put his best foot forward he could make the money to get his projectors and upgrades needed . He has the option to make money from local business with adverts on bill boards and so on I still give the place 4 stars because I will return again and again But it could easy be a 6 star review If you ever decide to sell let me know ! read more

Been going here for years, and just now noticed they were on Yelp so I thought I'd post. It's hard to find a good old classic drive in these days, and this place nails it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering you're seeing two movies. They have 3 screens, 2 movies play on each. Concession stand was always exactly what it should be in a movie theater, but I remember a few times the owner had set up a smoking and grilling station for briskets and pulled sandwiches, that was amazing. It's the little things that show you these guys really want you to have fun! Highly recommend catching a double feature here if you're looking to spend a relaxing night. read more

Awesome local spot to get a great deal on some movies and enjoy an old fashioned night out.

It is a drive in, so I don't expect the highest quality anything. My issues: 1) They don't always let the movies play to the end of the credits, so sometimes those extra scenes you are so anxiously waiting for after the credits, you don't get to see them!!! 2) They don't appear to be spending any money on upkeep, I don't see how this place passes any hygiene tests in the snack bar and the men's bathroom is HORRIBLE! Dirty, dirty, dirty. Bring your own food/drinks. 3) They don't start the movies on time if a lot of cars are still in line (I know they are trying to make as much money as possible, but when my kids fall asleep during the 2nd movie because they started the movies late or my kids fall asleep in the dark before the first movie even started because they are so bored, it makes me wonder WHY did I come?) read more
