The Northumberland County Historical Society is located in the Hunter House, on the former site of Fort Augusta. Fort Augusta itself was a stronghold in the French & Indian War up to the American Revolution. Although it was built by the British, it was used by the American Forces in the Revolution yet ironically it was named for King George III's mother. Because of its strength and position, it was never under seige. But anyway, back to the museum! It was named for Colonel Samuel Hunter, commander of the fort, and built by his grandson, Captain Samuel Hunter. The museum has a large collection of artifacts from the French & Indian War and the Revolutionary War. But what I found most interesting were the artifacts from local history. These are the things you won't see in large museums. Speaking of local history, the Society also has quite a large genealogical library where you can look up histories of early county families. All in all, it's a fascinating place to visit and it should be on your "must see" list if you're in the area.

They were incredible and so so so different from eachother. One was dark and super interesting and the other was liquid christmas joy onstage with kids. I did see the Christmas Carol that people are complaining about and its wild to leave a bad review because you didn't like one show they did. I don't think most people now how hard or expensive it is to make theater and they tried something new. It wasn't for me, but it did make me laugh and it was the actual story. My friend LOVED it and wouldn't shut up about how creative it was, so ya know, to each their own. Bloomsburg is lucky to have this in our community. SUPPORT LOCAL ARTS!

I was expecting a similar performance like in the past. The setup was so bizare and weirdly abstract. It would be better to just read the play out loud. I don't recommend the Christmas Carol by Amy Bryne to anyone. It's really bad. Many people walked out at intermission. Don't give away your tickets! Throw them away!!!!!!!!

My 17-year old son and I visited here on a Sunday morning in early July 2025 when it was not crowded at all. First, be sure to look at the outside field (Lamade Stadium) where the LL World Series is broadcast in mid-August. Second, the museum clearly explains the origins of Little League from Carl Stotz's 1939 vision to give young boys an opportunity to play baseball with the support of many volunteers and community leaders. Third, I did not know the Little League Softball World Series is played in Greenville, NC. Fourth, there's an interactive section where young kids can experience a simulation of catching a baseball, sprint from home plate to first base with a recorded time, and chase 3 grounders in a timed exercise. Overall, the experience of visiting takes about an hour or less. If you are a history buff who likes baseball, or know someone who played in Little League, this museum is well worth your time!

I finally had time to look back at our summer photos and wanted to document our trip to Bowman…read moreField for the 2025 MLB Classic. This has to be one of the coolest experiences we've ever had! Bowman Field only seats about 2,400 people, and tickets to the MLB Classic are extremely limited -- reserved mostly for Little League players (child plus two additional tickets per player), their families, media, and volunteers. That means very few tickets are available to the public, so being able to attend truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They had shuttle buses running from several areas in Williamsport, taking fans directly to the stadium. From the outside, Bowman Field looks tiny compared to most MLB stadiums, but that's part of its charm. We were lucky enough to be seated in the deck area, just to the right of first base, with a perfect view of the field. The deck is open seating and first come, first serve -- but we managed to snag seats right up front! There's no alcohol on site, but the food options were pretty good. I did have a small scare with some wasps trying to eat my funnel cake fries, but otherwise, it was a great experience. When I say the stadium is small -- it's tiny. You're so close to the players, and there's even a walkway right above where we were sitting where you can see them coming in and out. A few kids near us were diving over tables trying to catch foul balls -- it was hilarious and scary to watch. At one point, Lindor threw a ball right to us and YES, we caught it and gave it to our kids! We actually caught a few balls throughout the game and shared them with the other children around us. Overall, it was such a fun, unique, and once-in-a-lifetime experience -- something we'll remember forever.

It's small,…read moreand that fact that the MLB plays here once a year during the Little League World Series makes this a tiny ~2500 person park that would be SO cool to see a MLB team play at. The beer selection is awful. Even for a ballpark. Most have at least one or two offerings that aren't from the big three. But not here. Not even Yuenlueng!? WTH? Seats are fine, though the covered bleacher seats are too short and plastic isn't that great for a full inning game. The pricing to see the Crosscutters MiLB team is great at under $10 for every seat in the place. Employees were friendly enough. The guys walking around (or one guy specifically) walking around selling beers was SO annoying (and in such a small ballpark you see/hear him always) that I left early. Stop yelling, no one cares, and literally everyone ignored him yet he was undeterred. Though he should have been. So go see a MLB game here if you can score a ticket. And aside from the historical significance of it being the second oldest MiLB ballpark in the U.S. I don't think it's anything that great.
