A group of friends descended on The Plus to enjoy an evening of dancing to 90's music, and we decided to begin with dinner. The wontons were amazing and I enjoyed a delicious deep dish pizza that reminded me of how restaurant pizza tasted when I was a kid - salty, saucy, delicious and utterly satisfying. Excellent food aside, the service was excellent and the bartender served my martini table side (martinis are not their go-to drink but could be - ask for a vodka martini extra dirty with lemon and enjoy. I booked a party at The Plus a couple of months ago for a party on March 22. The events manager, Cullen, was AMAZING! He answered all of my questions along the way and found ways to streamline the things I requested. The day of the event, I was greeted by the kitchen staff, who prepared a wonderful buffet of appetizers (boneless wings and spintons- each highly recommended.) They created a beautiful vegetable tray and salad at my request. The pizza was really good, according to our guests. All of the food was served fresh. The staff, from the bartenders to the servers to the kitchen to the clean-up crew were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. All very much appreciated! Many places charge a fee just to book an event, but this was not the case here. We enjoyed a fun evening with our guests. Thank you to all who helped with our event! read more

We went to this place based on reviews and the website stated Thursday night was comedy night. I felt it was more of a local bar than a restaurant but the food was good. We just did bread sticks and pizza. I did think the pizza had a little too much sauce but it was still good. We didn't see any comedians and it didn't look like they were setting up for it either so I can't say much on that. Service was good. I guess I would say this place was average. read more

The Plus has re-opened. The pizza is excellent, and my wife and I were regular almost weekly patrons prior to the pandemic. A couple of weeks ago was probably our last visit. We were denied service. After sitting down at the bar, like we had previously and were served, we watched patrons enter and be greeted and served at the bar and tables. We were not greeted or asked what we wanted. We tried making small talk with the bartender, who mentioned a big group was coming in soon. After about 20 minutes the bartender just walked away into the back room, so we left. We are both seniors and enjoy going out to eat quite a bit around Eau Claire. We have a regular rotation of restaurants every week, and we tip very well! This is a strange pizza joint, as one side is a bar and one side is a family-style dining room, with kids arcade games. Gangsta rap was blaring on the speakers for my 1 and 4 year old the entire time for lunch on a Saturday... See my pics for reference: The menu has pizza (crust was burnt, and the chicken didn't taste fresh), but also a lot of other things (salads, sandwiches, kids menu, burgers, dessert). The kids mac n cheese was a weird combo between fake and real cheese, yet tasted oddly delicious. The food was okay, and would probably go back, due to the proximity to the children's museum. A bit pricey, but things like "free drink and ice cream with kids meals " sort of makes up for it. It just needs to decide if it is a family joint or a bar, so the other group isn't offended/put-out. read more

A little less than average. The pizza was greasy and bland. The staff was helpful. Overall, meh.

Seriously, some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Our server (woman with red and black dreads) only took drink orders for part of the table. The rest of us had to go to the bar to get our drinks. At the end of the meal she then asked all of us to write down what we had to drink on our checks because she never wrote them down. When those of us who had to go to the bar for our drinks told her we got them from the bar and paid there she gave us a dirty look. When we ordered our food, she took half of the table's order and then walked away so she could run food for another table. She then came back to finish taking our orders but was completely off track. Appetizers never came out, burgers were burnt to a crisp(not the server's fault), and she completely forgot one of my friend's food. Not once was an apology offered for the burnt food and she had the gall to ask my friend if she wanted her order put in, only after everyone else was almost done eating. She never checked up to make sure everything was good or if we needed anything (back to the bar to ask for condiments). I am a server so I understand the struggle. I do. But when you are this bad at your job you really need to rethink your choice to work in the service industry. The biggest problem here was the lack of apology and general demeanor of annoyance this woman took with us. read more

I love this place. I'm only giving a 4 out of 5 because the service is spotty. I've had wonderful servers, but there's a server who usually works the bar and I'm just amazed that she still has a job. She's come to our table for drink orders and then never come back and we had to find another server. We've called in carry-out pizza orders and she's taken the order, gone in to get it and realized when we got home that we were missing toppings (we usually get 4-5 and were missing 2). Every time we have her, there is some kind of problem. Other waitstaff is pretty good, generally my only complaint is they're pretty lax about refilling drinks and bringing the check. We love the food though. It can be a little busy with kids in there, but we love the Sunday Buffet. There's a large variety, people with food restrictions can find things they can eat. The French toast is great. And even though I don't eat omelets when I'm there, the guy making French toast and omelets (he's like... always there) always manages to say hi and make small talk. read more

I go to the plus every two weeks or so on Tuesday night's for their amateur open mic. It's a chill atmosphere and half price appetizers and tap beers. The bartenders who work during the week are friendly and they remember my "usual", which I like. As far as the food goes: Cheese curds are disappointing. Huge chunks of cheese, not actual curds and the batter is waaaayyy too salty. The pizza is good. I like the one with gouda and bacon. I can't remember what it's called, but it's yummy. I usually get the regular crust, which is a thin crust, but it's not too crunchy. The deep dish is good too. Unique toppings/flavors that you don't find at other pizza places in the area. The wonton appetizer (can't remember the name of it) and the garlic aioli bread are both pretty good for appetizers, but wouldn't recommend the bruschetta. Too much onion. So all in all, some good, some bad, but a fun atmosphere. read more

Great Pizza! We ordered the German pizza with deep dish crust. It was amazing with mozzarella, sausage and sour krout. Sounds gross but it was awesome. It was our first time there so the nice waiter told us about the pizza that a lot of people ordered! Well we walked in right at opening with two kids. So time is precious. Unfortunately it took awhile for food and for one waitress to cover the five or six tables she had. My wife liked the pizza I thought it wasn't that good. My son liked his pizza. My daughter had chicken strips and they were very good. There are really two reviews to write here, which is exactly what I am going to do. As a restaurant: I really like the food. The burgers and sandwiches are really delicious, the appetizers are awesome and varied (love the mango wings and the cheese bread especially) the pizza is great (especially like the mac & cheese pizza with chicken added) and...you can eat for pretty cheap, especially during happy hour or if you go for an artisan roll, which are cheesy and delicious and filling and only a couple dollars. Also...they serve til midnight, so it's one of the few places to grab grub downtown past 9:00 or 10:00. Lastly, they do a Sunday brunch buffet and make omelets made to order, and their omelets are awesome! ...and their French toast is my favorite in town. As an entertainment venue: it's top notch. I love the atmosphere, it never feels too cramped, and The Plus on a typical week has shows and events 6 days out of the week...many of which are often free (including the V1 reader's poll #1 open mic in the Chippewa Valley on Tuesday nights) and it's all ages. The new outdoor patio is also really cool and a fun place to see music, and it doesn't hurt that they have a lot of good beer on tap and happy hour from 10:00 to midnight Sunday through Friday. One of my go to's for a quick and tasty lunch or dinner! While I don't love the burgers (I prefer a bun for my burger, not bread) I do love the appetizers, salads and the sandwiches! Highly recommend the grilled cheese - SOOO much better than just a grilled cheese, and the chicken BLT. Am in LOVE with the BLT, craving one right now! I do like the pizza, but not crazy about the sausage they use. However, the crust and sauce are tasty, and when cooked properly, it certainly beats out any typical chain pizza. I think the remodeling has given the place a cool vibe, while keeping the integrity of building. The exposed brick walls behind the bar make it feel slightly industrial, yet it's still welcoming and comfortable. I like the crowd, and have been comfortable there with both my 80 year old grandma (who also really enjoyed her experience and meal, though they were out of all the wines she ordered) and my friends on a Saturday night. This seems like a really cool place. Unfortunately I didn't stay long due to my friends being lame. It's known for pizza, but it was kind of like a pizza restaurant/bar/arcade/concert venue. The night we were there, a metal band was playing which my group didn't care for...except me. Walking through the mosh pit we got a beer where there's a full bar and tables to sit and eat. There's another room with games to play. My inner ten-year old self was excited to see all of those games. My friends went outside to their patio which was pretty nice. Plenty of tables and chairs, and a fire pit which was perfect for a cool summer night. It was little weird as the outdoor patio is really just a big dark alley with tiki torches. I hope I get a chance to go to Eau Claire again and check this place out during the day and try the food. read more

This place was recently remodeled (thank god), so it looks much better inside but the food is still so-so. I had the 50/50 burger and it was a gut bomb. I paid for it all night long. It is 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon. I wouldn't recommend it. Okay to stop in and have a drink there, but there are better places to eat in Eau Claire. read more

The pizza is pretty bland, if not overly cheesy, like they're trying to make up for their lack of quality ingredients by throwing on more bland cheese. I'll admit, I probably I didn't see it listed on the menu, but who puts Frozen Peas on a pizza and thinks it's good? I could see how someone from the culinary mecca that is Scottsdale, AZ would think this would be delicious. However, if you have had real pizza before, you know better. This place was recommended to us by our hotel, as a solid place to try cheese curds. Being new to Wisconsin, we were eager to try all of the quintessential Wisconsin delicacies. Cheese curds were next on our list, so off we went. We arrived on a Sunday night around 5:30pm, right in the middle of happy hour, so drinks we inexpensive,as well as the apps. Perfect! So first of all, the positive: the cheese curds: crispy fried,fresh, plentiful,rich and yummy. I mean, what's not to like? It's fried cheese! OK now the negative: the service: our server: she was friendly and smiled, I'll give her that much. Maybe it was her first day, who knows? We asked what local beers they offered. She had absolutely no clue and offered us the choice for HER to go ask, or for US to go ask. We let her ask and when she returned, the answer was STILL not clear. A beer was ordered, however and turned out to not be what we expected. Next, I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. She literally had to ask me several times what I meant. Then I showed her the menu, where it was written "Sauvignon Blanc" and she STILL had to re-read it a few times and then was able to write it down. I mean, come on. I admit I am no wine expert, but at least I've heard of Sauvignon Blanc. If you are working as a server in a bar, I don't know, maybe you should be familiar with the drink menu? Just a thought. Next, another negative: the cheese curds came out BEFORE our drinks. A huge pet peeve of mine. Anyway, a 3-star experience and will not rush back. read more

Our order was quickly taken but then we had to ask for our food to go because we had to be back... 6 burgers, one was wrong, 4 50/50 burgers were a variety of undercooked and one was burned and undercooked. Bottomless mimosas for $5 and amazing caramelized french toast which reminded me of my grandma's old "Skier's French Toast". The brunch was pretty spendy but there were several options. Came across this place when looking for a lunch stop near the hospital. Upon first impression I was quite impressed with the vibe the place had. The bar area has a lot of character and looks like it would be a fun place to come for a few drinks. As we were just coming in for a quick stop, my mom went with the buffet to get a slice of pizza and I ordered the Italian burger. The burger was huge and tasted delicious! I would recommend it. The pizza looked good and the crust had a nice flavor, but the majority of the pizza selections had burnt crust, not a favorite taste of mine or my mothers! Worst service I have ever ever Encountered. Sat at our table for 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from wait staff. We asked the bartender for a bar rag to clean our own table. We got our own drinks from the bar and asked for menus. No one approached our table in the 35 minutes we sat there. Went to Houligans and left a big ass tip. The plus has a small menu that is very well done and always consistent; I would recommend any of the pizzas. The staff (that I've dealt with) are friendly and accommodating. I've been told there is a comedy show (maybe every Friday night) and though I have never been there for that, I hear it's pretty good! Great place for a quick bite or a fun night out! read more

Being from Scottsdale, AZ I am fortunate enough to experience many different foods. I have to say Pizza plus is just that. The pizza is delicious and the appetizers are great!
