But then as the night went on the girl became busy with tidying up the place. The guy bartender totally was dismissive. We had to uncomfortably wave at him because he was too busy entertaining everybody else aside from us. Not a, "are you guys ok? Can I get anything else for you?" Nope, we became an afterthought. He'd rather entertain people who can't order a proper dry martini correctly. I dunno, maybe he deemed We didnt belong there. I guess thats how they weed out people they dont want going in there. Im extremely disappointed. I had high hopes of this place being classy, but then ended up realizing they'd rather entertain pretentious patrons. Find me elsewhere. Their cocktail menu offers a great variety of creative handcrafted drinks. We visited near the end of the evening so they were out of a few of their signature cocktails. However I was pleasantly surprised when I challenged the head mixologist to create something refreshing based on a few flavor preferences I shared. He absolutely delivered which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the experience and a great example of their attention to customer service and creativity. I'd definitely return to see what else they have to offer and highly recommend it if you're looking for a uniquely intimate spot with great cocktails and an inviting ambiance.

For the most part, I enjoyed myself at this "lounge" . . . extra point for smoking options. Since the lounge is in the middle of the casino, I would have expected the service to be fast. Boy, was I wrong. Perhaps, the lounge needs to staff more bartenders. Both of the bartenders were pretty nice to me, but I did notice that they were quite rude to other customers. I'm not sure if the customers were rude to the bartenders, but unfortunately, rude customers come with the job. In one case, a customer asked the bartender the types of vodkas the bar served, he pretty much bit her head off. Here's a quick tip: Be sure to order your cocktails as doubles, because it will take some time to get a second round.

The vibe of the bar is a bit upscale with the dim lighting and professional staff while also feeling quaint and approachable. Our server was so friendly and helpful, especially helping navigate the extensive menu of cocktails and liquor. She helped me narrow down my first drink to a Clover Club which was perfectly made. I decided to order a second drink, a Pisco Sour, because it's not something I find at many bars. Yet again, the drink was perfectly made and balanced. The theme was "Yes, Chef: An exploration of culinary icons through a cocktail lens." Each drink was inspired by or dedicated to a famous culinary icon, and you can read about each one in the index. We each ordered one drink from each section. From the Opening, I chose the Diaspora Club, which was so refreshing and delicious. Then from the Principals, I chose the Chingona, which was a little bit spicy and savory but still so refreshing. To Finish, I chose the Chocolatier Cosmo, which came with a tiny house-made salted dark chocolate. I loved all three cocktails I ordered, especially the chocolatier cosmo because it was perfectly sweet and went so well with the small piece of chocolate. For food, we started off with the crispy pork belly milk bread. For my entree, I ordered the miso butter gnocchi. It was kind of on the salty side but I still really liked it. The apple sofrito added a bit of sweetness to it. For dessert, we had to get the rhubarb coffee cake, which came with strawberry ice cream. Omg one of the best desserts I've ever had!! I never thought of combining cinnamon coffee cake with rhubarb or strawberry but it's perfect, and I might have to make something like that soon.
