Smucker Gardens knows how to kick off fall in style! My first visit was for their 2025 Mum…read moreFestival, and let me tell you--it was everything I hoped for and then some. The Scene: Easy to find on GPS, well-signed from the road, and plenty of parking in the gravel lot. Their greenhouses are massive and overflowing with plants, and inside the main building you'll find home décor, gifts, and seasonal goodies galore. Prices lean a touch higher than some other local greenhouses, but given the location and setup, it felt fair. The Mum Festival: Perfectly organized. Food trucks up front (grab a bite first, wander later--smart!), vendor tents sprinkled throughout, live music filling the air, and kids' activities that looked like pure joy. It was a warm, sunny September Saturday--ideal fall fest weather. The Adventure: While mums and pumpkins were great for the vibe, my main goal was something a little...unexpected. The ad mentioned camel rides. Yes, CAMEL rides. At a mum fest. At 40 years old, I had never ridden a camel, and I wasn't about to miss my shot. I called ahead to confirm that the "kids activity" was indeed open to grown-ups, too. Fast forward to the fest--I see the sign: "Camel Rides $10 Per Person." Ten bucks for a once-in-a-Central-PA-lifetime adventure? SOLD. Nervous, excited, and slightly in disbelief, I climbed aboard. And it was everything I hoped it would be--totally worth the thrill (and the bragging rights). The Food: Yummy eats from food trucks and coffee from Brewboxx to keep the energy high. Perfect fuel for festival hopping. All in all: a fun, unique, and memorable event. Smucker Gardens is worth a visit on any regular day--but during Mum Fest? Add it to your fall bucket list.

I knew, over the summer of 2025, that The Garden Path seemed to be downsizing during their 50% off home decor sales. But extremely disappointed: I placed an online flower delivery order and later learned, upon visiting the retail store, that Garden Path doesn't exist. I still receive The Garden Path emails about different holidays, and their website still exists to place orders. The new owner of the building recommended I contact Bloomnation to see about the flower order. I contacted Bloomnation (210-405-5050), and they suggested I contact my credit card company to file a dispute for the amount spent on the flowers to request a refund.

Mark and Becky are genuine, honest, hardworking people with a passion for ponds. We've enjoyed their hands-on training classes and their professional expertise and advise when visiting. Mark help me design my pond, which contains a large brick planter/bog and waterfall with a large lower pond. Our water is not treated, I've never added anything to treat it it is 100% natural filtration. The new store is great, with an enhanced selection. I miss Jack as we always visited and talked about our fish and trains. This year we added a second pond to give our trains something to cross over with our new bridges. Thanks as always for the great service. If you are reading the bad review below, I have to ask myself. How far does the guy from California drive to go shopping for his ponds? 2800 Miles. Really Yelp get rid of the bogus review.......

I had to stop by to check out the granite-colored clay pots, which are the same granite pots I buy for my houseplant collection at a local nursery for much higher prices. The staff was friendly and helpful when I couldn't locate a medium-sized coco liner. My liner was damaged, so I was able to get a discount. Thank you, Hornungs. I find that smaller businesses like Hornungs consistently offer better customer service.

Good place for yard power equipment service and picking up miscellaneous hardware store items…read more Prices are normal for a True Value, not really a value. Walmart, Lowe's or HD generally less expensive. Turnaround time for equipment service (snowblower) tune up was less than a week and $100. Not bad and not too much time considering the season is upon us. While waiting to drop off my equipment, there were several customers waiting for a register to open. Unfortunately the store was a little understaffed and they were getting annoyed to have to wait for me before they could check out. Some additional training for the younger employees would probably help so that they could be more attentive when there are people waiting. I know it's easier to hide at the back of the store than to wait on customers, but that's your job folks. When I picked up the snowblower, I was in and out in about five minutes. Not too bad.
