Getting older should be a celebration of a life well-lived. Unfortunately, this much-deserved retirement into the “golden years” is not the reality for some seniors. Older adults may face a wide range of issues, from healthcare needs and long term care planning to retirement funding. Elder law is a specialized area that crosses over many different legal fields, including estate planning, disability planning and estate probation. An elder law attorney serves as an advocate for affected seniors and their loved ones, helping to navigate their specific challenges.
History
Established in 2020.
Buzz Suuppi (pronounced “soupy” – something he’s been explaining to everyone since kindergarten) started The Plan Firm for his family: his wife, Sarah, and their three kids: Lily, Sophia, and Henry. Family is everything to Buzz, so when the Fort Gratiot, Michigan, estate planning attorney decided to leverage his years of expertise and strike out on his own, he knew that he wanted his firm to always put the needs of local families first. After law school, Buzz began doing pro bono work in Port Huron, Michigan, where he gained a deep appreciation for how helping people with their estates can change lives. It would be a fulfilling career, and Buzz knew this is what he wanted to do. Many years later, and with countless families helped, Buzz went out on his own to form The Plan Firm, a family-focused firm specializing in estate planning, elder law, and estate probation.
