Absolutely loved the Pine Tavern Lodge. They truly thought of everything! When we arrived, we found snacks, mints, magazines and a coffee center in our room--complete with wine glasses and a bottle opener! A lovely room with a TV, charging station and everything you could need at your fingertips. They even had outdoor games and a ready-to-go firepit outside. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this Inn--and the town of Floyd. We will definitely be back!

    Just a gorgeous setting.

I love this place . I would call this old school luxury. They have rooms and suites. We stayed in a room, because we didn't book early. If you can book early--they have large suites available. The owner Dave is very nice and super accommodating . He gave us great suggestions about things to do and places to go in Floyd. The room was extremely clean. It was just absolutely perfect and exceeded all of our expectations. We loved the coffee set up, wine glasses and bottle opener (and even a charging station.) They thought of everything! There was even a fire pit set up with firewood--that we didn't have a chance to use, but next time!!) We will definitely be back...

My husband and I booked a king bed and were delighted to discover the large suite, complete with living room/kitchen, a large electric fireplace that heats and back deck with chairs and tables. Everything was updated, clean and comfortable. We want to return!

The Pine lake Tavern is the best kept secret in Floyd ,Va. If going to Roanoke or surrounding areas it's a must stop along the way.

No notes on our 3rd floor room, it was clean and large, and locally themed too. We skipped the breakfast. It's standard motel fare and with a loud TV in the room, there are better options very close by. Despite that, I feel the room was fairly priced for summertime in the USA. Though we've visited Floyd many times over the years, this was our first time staying in town, and I think this would be a great option for FF26.

I was greeted warmly walking in by the front desk staff and checking in was simple and easy. As a note, making reservations through the hotels own website gives you the best rate, in comparison to all the third party options. Two queen beds on the fourth floor (top floor), overlooking a part of the old cemetary and park. The room was spacious and nicely appointed, both beds were very comfortable. Along with a couple of seating chairs and a small corner table, there was all the amenities one expects traveling nowadays, coffee station, fridge and microwave. A work station and chair and a flat screen rounded out the room. A walk in shower in the oversized bathroom had plenty of hot water for my shower in the morning. It was bright, well lit and served its purpose as intended. Breakfast is included in the stay, and it was a decent enough start to the day. Scrambled eggs, breakfast meat with potatoes, along with an assortment of breads, grits, fruits, juices and coffee and teas. Cold cereals, and yogurts as well. The dining area was clean, well lit and spacious. All in all, the Hotel Floyd is a comfortable stay and a fair value for the money. Would stay again. 4 Stars 01091

My kids loved the pond and I really liked it as it had a wading pool that my three year old could safely swim in. The dock is a nice place to put your feet in the water and take in the beautiful scenery of the fields and woods. We got to watch deer, birds, and all kinds of other wildlife, from our campsite and the swimming area. Bruce was easy to talk to and proud to show off all the hard work that's been put in and some of his plans for the future. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are amazing. It's close to town so you can experience all the cute shops and dining options Floyd has to offer. The river is close by for fishing or tubing. We highly recommend this experience. The retro campers are SO cool, offering water and bathrooms in addition to the very cool showers at the bathhouse that offer a view of the scenery, with great showerheads and plenty of warm water. Walkability Gravel path ways, it's in the blue ridge mountains, so a lot of it is slanted. Noteworthy details It's a work in progress with great things to come, we were never bothered by the work they were doing while we were there but it's worth noting that Bruce and his son are working hard to make this place a reality. My ONLY negative this to say about our experience is they have yet to put in a walk way from the tent area. And my boys wanted to take the A to B route to the swimming area and bath house so there was a lot of up and down about 12" drop to the road. They just put the camping area in so keep in mind the grass hasn't grown back yet. They haven't gotten in picnic tables or lantern hooks...yet. They working hard to get get everything done so be as kind to them as they are to you. Hotel highlights Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value

We still had a twenty-minute drive to the lodge when we reached the North gate. The drive was pretty, though, and passed quickly. The circular driveway in front of the lodge was clogged with cars, forcing us to park down the road a bit. No one was around to welcome us, and finding someone took us a bit. Once we did, the valets quickly took care of us, and we were checked in. Our room on the second floor overlooked the 18th green and a valley on the backside of the lodge. It was terrific: large and spacious, with lots of wood and chunky lodge-style furnishings. The bathroom was huge, with a large tub, separate shower, and his-and-hers sinks. The minibar came stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and some snacks. While staying here, we enjoyed their astronomy presentation at the top of the silo, walking on several trails through the nearby woods, time in the spa, and making smores out back by the fire pit in the evening with the other guests. There was a special cocktail hour with apps and drinks, and a chance to talk to some of the local providers of food and items to the hotel. They do an excellent job of using local sources for the lodge. Dining was top notch, except at the Stables family-style restaurant. The Stables was a disappointment. Our other meals though in the lodge were top notch. The staff at Primland is the best, and they are what make this place so special. Come visit in the summer and enjoy the cooler temperatures of the mountains.

Keri was fantastic and first thing she did was show us to our room and took us on a little tour of the place. She gave us a lot of insight onto the house and its previous owners and how old it is. There is so much character and each room and the way they have each of them setup brings our the personality of each room. I mean, we didn't hear one squeak in any floorboard! Talkin' rustic and solid - a wonderful combination. This Inn has impeccable cleanliness and tasteful décor of every room. We came with another couple who are regular guests at B&B's all over the USA. They were decisively impressed. We came for the nearby Yadkin Valley wineries but found simply hanging out at A Mighty Oak to be quite pleasant. We sat on rocking chairs on the 2nd floor covered porch as we read or just talked as the stars emerged in the sky. Then we ascended to the 3rd floor for games (ping-pong, board games, TV sports) and reviewed the substantial bookcase. Of course, a huge facet of any B&B is the proprietor. We all recognize a passion for excellence when we experience one. It's there in spades with Todd, showing up in attentiveness to our needs and a pleasant, playful grace about him and his wife Lisa. And we saw his excellence in that 2nd "B" in B&B. We're talking as close to farm-to-table as it gets since the B&B's rear acreage is home to cows, chicken and plants. And, uh FYI, no smell in the air. Match freshness with culinary excellence and you've got an Rx for memorable breakfasts. I mean, I had never had a Scottish Egg and can't wait to see what Todd has up his sleeve next time! A passion for excellence shows up in every aspect of a business, but when it's a B&B, it can become quite special since they're sort of personal - I mean one actually lives there albeit for one or two nights. A Mighty Oak is indeed one special place. We will definitely return for our Mighty Oak state-of-mind fix!!

We make routine trips with Blacksburg as a pit stop and will be bookmarking this as a preference for our overnights there, for sure. Arriving late and not lingering in the area next day, we admittedly picked the least pricey of the several mid-level, familiar chains, but got real value for our buck and believe this would be a terrific and reasonable-priced hub even for multi-night stays. Just a 5-min drive to the Main Street shops & restaurants, though night arrivals be forewarned even the "late-night" options there were shut up tight by 10:30, so we had to grab sandwiches at the 24/7 grill at the nearby Sheetz. Also, as we checked in, I did spot good, basic stocking of the snack food and other options in the hotel "market." Overall notes: This hotel is what we call "house proud" -- the managers and staff seem truly invested in the physical plant and in customer service. It appeared scrupulously clean, with small details thoughtfully made, and everyone was professional and friendly, even late-night staffers. As someone else noted, care and a sweet-natured creativity is spent on decor at each entry, even the back. I don't necessarily require happy little displays, but I do appreciate that those and the well-maintained landscaping reflect the attention paid to upkeep. While there's no grand view, it's not an industrial area (small strip malls and well-known chains nearby) and the trees planted all around the parking lot screen from the road. We had a fifth floor (topmost) room and it was quiet -- no road noise at all. I noted that room numbers ending in 18/19 are closest to elevators and might be a little noisier. The rooms were very tidy, as noted. (Passed my routine bedbug testing.) no signs of prior tenants -- I think it's a pet-friendly hotel but none of my allergies triggered. Clearly remodeled in this decade, spacious with a sofa in our King room. Table-tops on both sides of the bed with both outlets and USB slots. Lamp on one side, lots of conveniently placed outlets. Also a discreet nightlight in the bathroom -- MICH appreciated detail most chains overlook. Plenty of thick, fluffy towels. Keurig-style coffee maker with laughably short cord but multiple pods and lots of cups. As reviews noted, both light-filtering and blackout curtains. Easy to control temperatures. The wall unit was a little noisy when it kicked in, as they often are in hotels. It did not wake us but if you're a super light sleeper, you might need ear plugs for that. PLUS: Very comfy bed with varied filling pillows. The best sleep I've had this trip, including at our hosts' home. I'll say again: Excellent value for the money.
