I took my friend there today for her birthday, Sunday for brunch. She was happy with her avocado toast, but my Quiche Lorraine was inedible. It came to my plate with an appetizer looking tart very overcooked and with a bowl of fruit. The plate looked so unappetizing and empty. I only ate the fruit and 2 teaspoons of the inside tart as the crust was blackened. I asked if my birthday friend would be presented with a dessert. The waitress said yes and when she came back, she said no birthday desserts. I was thinking after telling the waitress that I was still hungry and couldn't eat the crust of the Quiche Lorraine....really was an app.. not a meal serving...that I would be compensated somehow. She said that I needed to tell them earlier... and therefore no compensation. Anyway, I spent over $60.00 for a very disappointing meal. I did want to tell them earlier but, no server came by until after the fact when I told the waitress as I told her that it wasn't her fault. I am assuming that she reported that I was not pleased with my app serving when I was expecting a full lunch. I always had such high praise for your restaurant. The prices are sky-high but, that is never a problem for me, if the food presented is up to what I expect. I went home disappointed and still hungry and had to scrape up something from my fridge. THE pin is so much more than a tea room, and lunch spot. I would highly recommend you try them for dinner. The also have a lovely wrap around , outdoor dining porch. My friend & I enjoyed the pecan crusted rack of lamb. It was prepared to perfection with a delicate salsa verde. Equally delectable were the sides. The fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus and root vegetables were mouth watering. We couldn't resist the rich chocolate stout cake topped with the lightest, fluffiest, not-too-sweet, butter cream icing. Hats off to the chef and Nadine for offering such fine quality in these very difficult economic times. I would be remiss not to mention the exceptional service from our waiter, Tristan. Wonderful little tea room. Every aspect is meticulously well thought out and detailed. Staff are attentive and genuine. Lovely lunch menu and wide variety of teas available. Each pot of tea is served with a timer to ensure proper steeping. They were kind enough to fill 50 small jars with loose leaf tea for a bridal shower I was hosting. Above and beyond service. Lunch is offered from 11am-2:30pm. Afternoon tea and pastries available till 5pm. Closed Sundays. read more

Used to be my favourite restaurant for tea and lunch. Visited today my first time in a couple of years and was disappointed to see the food quality was not what I'd enjoyed in the past. Very little selection of dessert tarts and scones. What they did have didn't look great. Service was good, the restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea room! I've had afternoon tea at such places as The Windsor Arms and The Lanesborough Hotel. Very swanky tea. The location of the tea room isn't ideal but the decor is lovely. I was there for a baby shower so there were 15 of us in a small room with 3 tables. I believe it was the sister room. The tea menu is very good and the lunch menu has the usual salads, soup and quiches. I ordered the feature of the day which was a bacon, salami, lettuce and tomato on a multi grain bread with a pesto mayonnaise. It came with either soup or salad. I opted for the soup which was squash and pear. Both soup and sandwich were excellent. Some of the others had the quiche which looked great and the chicken mushroom crepe which was also a hit. They have an amazing selection of pies and tarts. They had made a chocolate cake for our group that was rather yummy. My only complaint would be the service. We had one server for our group and she was getting a little overwhelmed and frustrated. I would definitely go back for lunch and I would love to try their afternoon tea. read more

First time visit and I'm glad I dressed up a little. Beautiful interior and quiet atmosphere. They have a regular menu and a separate menu for tea. Desserts are displayed in a revolving glass cabinet, and what a display they make. Massive thick slices of homemade cakes, pastries, and pie. And this amazing dessert called the 'cheesecake pie' (though $7 a slice). Food was delicious. They also do a special tea time after 2:30pm for $25 reservation only. read more

We went to the Pin a couple of weeks ago for lunch, and we enjoyed our meal and found it reasonable. Because of this experience, we booked in for 'High Tea' on Mother's Day. What a horrible experience that was. For $30/person we each got 2 very thin eighth-of-a-sandwich triangles, three quarter sized 'scones' and four very small finger desserts. The desserts were a tiny over-cooked brownie, a chocolate dipped strawberry, a macron, and mini cream puff. The 'clotted cream' for the scone was Whipped cream. All of the desserts were overly sweet, perhaps to compensate for the lack of real food. We couldn't finish the sweets because they were simply, too sweet. When I spoke to the manager the day before, he assured me that there was 'plenty' of food for each person, and that we should come hungry to the Tea. Instead, when I ask for more 'sandwiches ' I was told that there was only so many sandwiches allotted per person, that they had been prepared hours before and I couldn't have any more. So I ended up paying for an egg salad sandwich to fill the gap that was left from my $30 meal. My 6 year old son was served a long toothpick with berries on it, a cookie-cutter 'wow' butter piece of soggy triangle bread, an eighth of a sandwich with cheese and a thin slice of ham, and three small finger desserts for $20. This was simply a money grab by The Pin, and not worth the money or the time spent there. Unfortunately, this fell on Mother's Day. A very disappointing experience, that we will definitely not repeat ever again. read more
