However, I think this studio deserves endless love and is a great spot to start or continue your pole dancing journey. While I've only taken two classes so far, I plan to take many more. I highly suggest getting the three pack. We spend the beginning part of class stretching and doing either cardio or conditioning. The rest of the class is spent learning and practicing pole moves. Orchid, the owner and teacher, is amazing. She's a great teacher who has incredible music taste. Depending on the poles set up, the studio has four to six poles to dance on. There is a privacy curtain that goes up during class so people walking on Broad St. don't see you while you dance. There is also a private big room in the back where you can change and leave your bags. I love all the purple in this studio. While their ceilings are not super high, aerialists are able to train a number of tricks and apparatus. Rigging felt safe, and I love the reception that I received as a visitor from the online exchange to my in-person arrival. I trained at an open gym, and I attended a Lyra II class that was taught by a sub. I appreciated that the class focused on drilling difficult tricks, and when I asked the teacher for a progression, she offered me one that was accessible to where I am training. They have pole classes and Lyra and fabric - super fun! They may have more, but those are the ones I've seen and considered. Since I'm relatively new to aerial arts, I've only taken a few classes here for Lyra and fabrics, but I have loved the classes. The class size is 6 or fewer, so your instructor has plenty of time to help you if you're lost, confused or, you know, stuck in the air. The instructors are talented individuals who take the time to model the skills and are adept at figuring out how to help you see the skills from different perspectives. They change cues and point out different muscles, movements and positions to cater to the student. There are mirrors in the front of the aerial studio, so, you can see what you're doing. It is helpful, but it can be a little daunting. I've never had a problem finding parking here. The cost is affordable as far as aerials arts classes are priced. There are options for class packages if you are interested in going regularly. Have fun, it's a blast!
