She would have been choked to death with that collar on her. I walked in & went immediately to her room and here comes the groomer who heard me come in the door. I started bringing my pup Chewie to Salata about 2 and half years ago. He goes everyday for daycare…read moreand absolutely loves it. I'm so thankful for Salata taking care of my pup as if he were their own. Chewie got really sick last time at daycare and they took him to their vet to get him checked out. Maria even texted me the next day (a Saturday that he doesn't go to daycare) to see how he was doing. I'm so sad that we are moving and Chewie won't have his fantastic daycare humans. But if you are looking for grooming, daycare, boarding, training, even just a pet supply store- this is the place you want! Even when you board their dog, they have someone stay in the building with them so they're never alone. They are fantastic and I wish they were moving with me!

When I entered the facility, it was sparkling clean, and I could smell bleach. I felt reassured…read morethat the facility was well-kept. Outside, there were people walking dogs, playing with dogs, and I could see dogs going in and out of their kennels. Each kennel has a a climate controlled indoor space, and a door to the outside, which the dogs can use whenever they choose. I was very encouraged as this was my first time using this kennel. The staff was friendly, and my dog was eager to enter. The price was reasonable compared to other kennels in the area. I paid extra for one walk per day for the dog. They require you to bring your own food and any treats. They encourage you to bring any of your dog toys so that they feel comfortable while they're there. They provide a good bed. When I left, I felt secure in that he would be well cared for while I was gone for a week. When we picked him up, they reported on his stay and how he did, including how he ate and drank while he was there. I appreciate that. In the past, at other places, I have never heard a thing about how he did during his stay. I would definitely recommend this kennel.

I cannot, I repeat - CAN NOT!! - recommend AHSD Canine Services enough!!! I am so happy I found…read morethem when I adopted Ember on a whim. Their Puppy Prep program has been so great for him and myself as a dog-owner newbie. The Puppy Prep program is seriously too good of an offer to pass up! Your pup can attend every day, Tuesday through Friday, between 7am-6pm until they're 20 weeks old. The trainers work with your puppy to help them learn potty training, kennel training, leash training, basic commands, and obedience! AND!! This program includes bi-weekly Wednesday night group training sessions!!! Seriously - this program couldn't be any better! The trainers and owners are SO nice and SO GREAT with the dogs. They go above and beyond. Ember's trainer hadn't worked with a Catahoula Leopard dog before so she *researched* the breed so she could better understand his needs and then she tailored his training to his needs and learning style!! How amazing is that?! Check. Them. Out!!! PS - does anyone know how I can keep my dog from aging because I never want him to age out of this program!!!

I recently received a message from the owner regarding my review from a few years ago. He said my…read morereview was about a facility in Chandler, Az. Since that post is attached to my review, I did want to verify that my review is about the Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa facility. Shortly after posting the above verification that my review was about the Davenport, Iowa K9 Resort verification, a nasty message was posted AGAIN by the owner. I don't understand this attitude. We had a bad experience at this kennel and posted our opinion. Other people have posted bad reviews and good reviews. To the owner: Instead of showing such nastiness for a bad review, just make sure you offer the best service for pets left in your care. You have a beautiful facility, but we, your customers, want and expect our pets to have the best care when they are there.
