I became accustomed with The Pet Care Clinic when my groomer contacted me about a rescue she knew needed a home. By the time our conversation was done, I agreed to adopt Jesse, a soon to be 15yo Shih-Tzu. However, I was in Florida for another few months and would not be coming home to until then. The groomer made all the arrangements for Jesse's care u til I returned. Between, Dr Jeannie, Kate, and the Pet Care staff, they took care of him until my return. Jesse had been neglects and essentially abused by the prior owner due to the lack of care they provided for, him. He had not been groomed for several years and had been adviseed that the cyst he had on his bum needed to be removed. Four years later they brought him bck and want him euthanized. Dr Jeannie refused and the cyst had grown to melon size. This impacted his ability to walk, and he had to be sedated to be groomed because he was in so much pain from how his hair had grown so out of control (Shih Tzu's have hair and it needs grooming regularly). I accepted Jesse in my care 3 months ago and from what they tell me, he is looking happy and healthy. Since adopting Jesse we have found he has incontinence issues, a heart murmur, and suffers from congestive heart failure. He has been back to see Dr Jennie on several occasions given the personal relationship he has with the clinic we decided not to change his Vet. when he arrives, they dote on him, talk with him, and are generally happy to see him as he is to see them. If I didn't already have a Vet for my other fur-babies, I would definitely make the Pet Care Clinic my new Vet care option (my other guys have been with their Vet for years). Even though they are only open to seeing patients 3 days a week, the care they provide is excellent and I highly recommend their services. Thank you Dr. Jeannie and Staff for your care and dedication to the animal kingdom. read more
