However, the…read moregym has becoming increasingly crowded and members use the walking areas to spread out equipment so it becomes very difficult to move about the gym easily. The two small mat areas for stretching are crowded and often times unavailable. I often see coaches chit chatting on the mats and taking up space that could be used for workouts. The movable equipment like the boxes often are filled with personal item like phone and headsets so it's not easy to just grab what you need easily. Several times over the past few months the gym has had no hot water and/or no steam. I utilize the gym before work so this is a major issue. In fact as a write this just received a notification of no hot water. ‍ The sign up part was awesome, with Equinox providing guests passes, gift receipts for the store etc....ending the membership, however, has been painful. I started the process a week ago and my email wasn't on file despite providing all of my info thru the signup process. When I attempted to end my membership thru the email provided it had expired only two days later. Calling back, had to provide my email again. Went thru the cancellation process only to encounter an "error" at the end. Attempted several additional times with same result. Called the club and was informed a "report" had to be made and sent to the general manager for approval. What? My husband is now encountering the same shenanigans. No email on file, no address blah blah. The Equinox front desk manager was rude and condescending saying "I'm sorry mame" over and over. Extremely disingenuous attitude and tone as if just to get me off the phone and not genuinely sorry. Overall an awful experience. Beware, this is a hotel California membership.

From the moment I step inside and am greeted by the front desk staff, I feel immediately welcomed and like I belong. The instructors learned my name so quickly and I feel so seen and loved every time I go to a class (which is always a killer workout by the way). I've already made many friends in this community since everyone is so kind and genuine. Joining Celé has been such a gift and I have so much gratitude for this sacred space for women. Today marked my 25th class, and I'm so excited to keep it going! Thank you, Celé!

Once you ring the bell and the door is unlocked, you walk up the staircase and around the corner to the front desk. Appreciated that when I said my appointment time the front desk staff immediately knew my name. Shout out to Atalie for being so warm and welcoming. The massage by Jackie is truly relaxing - highly recommend. The one turnoff of my two spa visits is the upselling - following my facial the esthetician suggested a serum to consider and had it waiting at front, which the front desk then also tried to sell. Following my massage, the masseuse tried to sell a package of services and once again, the front desk also attempted to upsell the package. It's a lot right after a relaxing service - my advice is to hold the hard sell for a follow up text or email.

Apathy was kind of the standard of operation at the front desk. I often felt like I was keeping them from an important task by merely checking in. This all changed with Jordan and Edwin. These two are ALWAYS happy! Their smiles make you feel welcome and appreciated. Jordan is the first person ever in years to remember that I request a small towel upon arriving and had it ready for me when I walk in. THIS is customer service. This is not just professionalism, but going above and beyond to make the members feel special and like they signed up with the right gym. To be fair, some of the other recent staff have been pretty good, but Jordan and Edwin are top notch. I'll of course give some credit to whomever hired these two, but they both deserve a raise and a pat on the back. They've changed to whole vibe at this gym. Kudos to both of you and to LA Fitness for hiring you!

I'm glad to be his plus one so I can make sure he gets out and makes his membership worth it. I would have appreciated having access to amenities like the massage and tanning, though. He never used any of them. The facility is spacious, with a few defined workout areas. There are plenty of machines, dumbbells, and other equipment to suit different workout needs. Small-group classes and personal training are also available during the day based on the Black Card membership description. The schedule is available on the app. The Thousand Oaks location is pretty light in the evening, which is when we usually go. The app also shows the gym's current traffic, which is convenient. Staff is usually polite and pleasant, although we have minimal interaction since check-in is through the app. The restroom could use more cleaning. I'm not sure if there is a dedicated janitor or if it's handled by employees, but either way, a more consistent cleaning schedule would help. One tip for people who like to clean their equipment before using it: you might want to bring your own cleaning wipes. They provide spray bottles and cleaning paper, which is a little messy for me. With the cost of the membership, though, this is really not a complaint. Overall, we enjoy the convenience of the flexible hours and the variety of fitness options at this location.

I mean, THE place to go. The trainers/owners are some of the strongest people in the world (literally), and they really know what they're talking about, not just from reading a book, but from experience (lots of it). One of the best places to go to if you're serious about Strongman/Strongwoman competitions or skills. There is no better place to go in Ventura/LA county than this, in my opinion. That's really all that needs to be said.

I cannot say enough good things about Korosh as a trainer…read more I've been working with him since around July, and in just a few months I've seen a noticeable difference in my body, strength, and confidence. I've lost roughly an inch and a half while continuing to build muscle and get stronger, even while dealing with normal hormonal fluctuations that can make body composition changes much more challenging. What really stands out about Korosh is that he understands how to progressively challenge me without sacrificing form. He has significantly improved my technique, helped me increase my training loads safely, and pushed me beyond strength levels I reached even when I was competing about 10 years ago. I recently leg pressed approximately 407 pounds and have worked up to roughly 130 pounds on chest/bench press movements, which I honestly never expected to accomplish at this stage of my life. He also brings a level of care and professionalism that makes the experience feel incredibly personalized. From paying close attention to recovery and positioning to making sure I'm comfortable on the massage bed, he treats me less like someone being pushed through a generic workout and more like a high-level private client. It genuinely feels like the kind of individualized attention you would expect at a luxury fitness club such as Equinox. Beyond his knowledge as a trainer, Korosh is exceptionally kind, considerate, hardworking, ambitious, and thoughtful. I have a master's degree in psychology, and because of his own background and interest in psychology, I've also really enjoyed our conversations. He is perceptive and wise beyond his years, and I've found myself appreciating him not just as a trainer but as a person. If you want someone who will pay attention to your form, understand progressive overload, challenge you intelligently, and genuinely care about your progress, Korosh is exceptional. He deserves to be recognized and celebrated for the level of commitment he gives his clients.

I signed my son up for 6 months of personal training and paid for each month in advance. Per their…read morecontract, they require a 30-day notice for cancellation, which I submitted right at the end of 6th month. That is when the hidden terms came out. Management informed me that because they have a "5-day billing" on their billing cycle, my 30-day notice didn't count for the upcoming month. Consequently, they are forcing me to pay for a 7th month that we neither wanted nor authorized. I gave notice on September 30th (the same day my payment went out for October). They require that I pay on October 30th for the entire month of November. That's their idea of a 30 day notice. By sneaking in this "5 day billing period," they essentially manipulated a standard 30-day notice policy into a 60-day billing trap. What makes it worse is the complete lack of understanding that the practice is deceptive and dishonest. Be very careful giving this business your financial information and signing up for any training. They seem to find loopholes in their agreements to squeeze an extra month of profit out of you on your way out the door.
