At my first visit for a painful tooth, they took numerous X-rays with almost no explanation or communication. The dentist eventually came in, briefly told me what needed to be done, and I was sent off with antibiotics. No X-rays shown, no real discussion. During the root canal, despite explaining my anxiety and mild claustrophobia, they tried to force in an oversized plastic piece without a word. When I couldn't tolerate it, they only then tried a less massive option. The chair was reclined so far that my head was below my hips, which made the experience even more stressful. I was left hanging like that for nearly two hours without a break to sit up. Later, no aftercare instructions were provided. The billing was just as frustrating. Because of an error on the claims form, the insurance sent the reimbursement check to me instead of the office. When I brought in the payment, the office manager was defensive and rude, blaming the insurance despite it clearly being their mistake. A few days later, I received the exact same payment request again, despite already having paid, and with proof of payment. Not sure, what goes on in their office, but it seems pretty disorganized to me. I really wanted to like this place, but this was one of the worst dental experiences I've had. I won't be back.

I was a happy patient with Midtown Dental but recently moved to Gold River and wanted a practice…read morethat was closer to my home. I found Sunriver via Yelp. Location: Sunrise Blvd at Trinity River Drive, in a two story professional building. Public bus stop directly outside on Sunrise Blvd, and ample parking. Ease of access: I parked in the lower accessible parking area. There is a full flight of stairs to the ground level. I wasn't aware that there is an elevator, as it is behind a locked gate, but I later learned that I just needed to call the practice and they will buzz me through. After getting to the ground floor, everything is level and easy to access. Due to Covid protocols, the practice's lobby is locked but they have instructions to do a virtual online check-in. There is some limited seating in the building's lobby outside the practice. The office staff came out to escort me in when they were ready to see me. Ambience: The practice appears freshly updated, with ample seating and a pleasant modern industrial esthetic. Treatment rooms are nice. Technology: This practice appears to use all of the current dental technology that one would expect from a first-rate practice. Permanent crowns are made in-house and set in a single visit - no more temporary crowns and a follow up appointment! Communication: I reached out to Sunriver via email as I have some mobility deficits and needed to know that they could accommodate my needs. Trisha the office manager immediately responded and was able to get me an appointment within two days. Both Caroline the hygienist and Dr. Khursand were awesome! They were professional and very pleasant, and took care to make me feel comfortable and at ease. They also were very communicative about the condition of my teeth. Service: The staff took care to accommodate my mobility deficits and make sure that I was comfortable and at ease. I never felt rushed - they took the time to do a thorough and careful exam, x-rays and cleaning. They were very diligent about following current Covid safety protocols. Insurance/scheduling: Trisha the awesome office manager verified my dental insurance coverage before my appointment so there was no concern about my coverage or copay. After my exam, I got my next appointment scheduled, settled my copay and was on my way in under five minutes. Overall: It's been only one visit, but I am highly satisfied with Sunriver and I think that I have found my new dentist!

Then my husband goes into his appointment separately for a cleaning and care plan for next steps moving forward. Nothing was done we are getting married in a few months so he smoked for awhile and stopped. He needed cosmetic work done on his front caps to make the look a bit better and no need to explain that western dental did them when he was a kid so extremely poor quality. Which is why we choose to put new crowns on. This is the background a bit on our expectations, not perfect but a little better. So instead of doing anything about the cosmetic work all they do is schedule another cleaning........ Okay maybe something wasn't communicated properly. Long story short I canceled the cleaning to schedule a consultation so we were all on the same page. The first thing the dentist came in non stop interrupting so much not allowing us to even get out why or what expectations were wanting and trying to sell us on the final smile. She was yelling so loud telling us he had cavities that no one even told us about the prior appointment then when I tried to say something about money and insurance maxing out for the year to make a plan that's necessary but taking into consideration money. If I had lots of money implants and veneers would be what we would do on all the teeth but like most people that's not going to be possible in one setting. Then she continued with this exposing the entire office to her poor behavior then puts her hand in my faces and says no I'm talking. At that point I grab my things look at my husband and said we are done here. I do not trust someone like this. Then we went to the front we are getting all of our records and the tech comes to the front lady and says dr wants to see you and she responds that she is just getting our records and she raises her voice at her and says "NOW". Like I'm flabbergasted at this point and said please email us the form. I will be turning her into the dental board and into delta. The unprofessionalism and the lack of care all within the first 2 appointments I'd never trust since everything was ignored to begin with and it was just about money to the dr. I never write reviews but I have never been talked to and treated so poor in public in my entire life. No apologies or even regret was from this office except for poor Wendy in the front. This place is awful and if you have an opportunity to try a different practice then I would recommend doing that. If things would have been different and at least the dr being remorseful I would have just went my separate ways and moved on. The only reason why I moved from my original dentist to begin with is because I aged out of my parents policy and they didn't take my delta dental plan. After the office emailed me I responded and the dr responded to me and took no responsibly and just made excuses. You could tell the only reason she responded was because I told her I was turning her into. Hopefully the dr learns from this and doesn't treat anyone else like this.
