Ron obtained most of his stuff from buying out estate sales. He is a friendly guy that lives on site. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I stopped in on a Tuesday and he allowed me to come in :) Only reason it isn't 5 star is that it isn't "bargain" deals like some antique stores. I love vintage hand mirrors and he had a few for $25. I have bought them at other shops for $10 or less. In general, on the pricier end. But, I can't blame him if he is looking to make a profit!

Every time we stop in this little "Gem in Dunkirk" there is something new and different - really unique items. The pricing is really great and your dollar goes a long way here. Some of the items are so hard to find that this might be the only place you will see some of these things. This store if far better then most Thrift stores we've ever been to - so much more that we don't even call it a thrift store - it's definitely a boutique! There is normally parking on the side street - the store itself faces the main road, but it sits on a corner - so parking on the side street is the best place as there is a fire hydrant right out front and no sense giving the City of Dunkirk the money you just saved by shopping at this store. The items you will find in this store range from slightly used clothing (not a huge selection, but something for everyone), household items, books, CD's, toys, seasonal items (GREAT Christmas finds), furniture, TV's that work and are plugged in, and the list just is endless. I almost don't want you to shop here because I can't get everything I want all at once and I'm afraid you will find my stuff and buy it up! However, the owners and their daughter that works there are so friendly and helpful I'd like to see them flourish in this economy. So - I'm willing to share. Right now they have amazing store hours and are open 7 days a week - YES even on Sundays when there is little else to do - take a drive down the scenic route to Dunkirk and stop and and check this place out!

A live auction of multiple glass collections was occurring in a large area in the back of the store. It looked like they would be there all day until I heard the auctioneer rattling off the items. He sold 3 items in less than 5 minutes. Seventy different vendors showcase their collections. It is obvious that the store's owner has high presentation expectations. You can see each item in display cases. The store isn't cluttered or smell musty. The store doesn't accept AE and I didn't have a check. The store owner called the vendor who accepted Paypal. The vendor delivered my purchase to my hotel. I spent about an hour wandering through this store ... delightful.

It's not a bad idea and not the only place like this that I've shopped, but the pricing in here seemed to be higher than most placed I've been to. The selection is huge, but sometimes the stuff inside really might have been better tossed out. I also don't like areas where there is stuff for sale and stuff not for sale - get the not for sale stuff out of the selling area - this is just a poor business practice. Turns out that I found two items that I wanted - one was a simple canoe paddle that was well over my spending limits and the other item wasn't for sale :(

I call the store about a month and a half later and he didn't even tell the store about the remote. After waiting almost 2 months total he came with the remote and that was nit the problem. Because he was playing guessing games with what the chair needed and he couldn't figure it out I get Stonewalled. I would never do business with them again and would NEVER recommend them to anyone!! They have, literally, everything you could need for your horse and whatever discipline you ride. English gear, western gear... medications, supplements, blankets, tack.. they also have a sweet saddle selection and they consign saddles as well, so if you aren't looking for anything brand, spanking new... come here and see what they got. For some things... I don't always like to go on the internet for. Especially horse items. So this place is great for me to browse. They also have Breyer horses, toys, some western clothing, and definitely tons of boots. Worth the trip... will definitely be back out soon!
