While the store is beautiful and HUGE compared to other locations. The staff here is so rude, i came here specifically wanting to get a bag monogrammed. when i came here i looked around the store and found the "custom bar" area that had very very limited stock. i get it...its summer and your busy season. when i asked an employee if they had any more stock she looked me up and down and said we are all out then went back to what she was doing. didn't offer another option or show me what they could do. If i am being honest here...she made me feel like i was inconveniencing her...babe this is your job. If you don't want to work in the service world and deal with paying patrons...just quit anyways, i still drove from welfleet to get a bag so i was going to settle with something. when i finally made my selection i asked the person checking me out if they could monogram my bag as there was no signage saying they couldn't today. She asked the same employee from prior and they basically said they couldn't as they didn't have anybody who could do it as the person is only in from 9-2. Honestly it's not that part that makes me mad...it's just the part they had nothing on their website or in store that says that...would have saved me the trip and the hostile environment. Also... from one person in the service world to another... customers are the only reason you're in business. people...especially during your tourist season are willing to pay for anything.... read more

The associates working on the floor don't smile, act helpful, offer to get you a cart as things are falling out of your arms. They just stand there hating you. There is no one at the wheel here. Get it together, your prices command employees/management who are trained to at least have a little class and know how to pretend to care! read more

I usually love the paper store but my friends and I went in today after getting dinner and we were just looking around so we didnt check the hours, which we understand is our fault, but an employee was very very rude and impolite when he told us that they were closed. We felt very disrespected as customers and we are seriously considering not going back there because we truly felt unappreciated and as though we were doing something evil, when we were simply just trying to shop and did not look at the hours. We even apologized as we left, and the employee said nothing and continued to usher us out immediately. Love the paper store but hated this experience. read more

Delightful store, something for just about any occasion or just for fun. Cards, ornaments jewelry all very updated and unique. Fun signa, animal accesories. I love to wander the aisles. Winter scarves, hats, sweatshirts ponchos ect....winter items in an area to the side all 75% off beautiful quality and styles. I am at a loss for words. I am a loyal customer to The Paper Store. Yesterday, while shopping for Mother's Day, the company reportedly had a system malfunction leaving the cash registers unable to process transactions. I swiped my debit card three respective times without success. The cashier wrote down my name and number, attached it to a bag filled with my merchandise, and instructed me to come back today to pick up my items. Today, prior to my arrival, I looked at my checking account and noticed that I was in fact charged for the transaction. I used a debit card and the cash was taken directly out of my account. When I went to pick up my belongings, the cashier (who was lovely) was unable to confirm that my transaction went through. I told her I was charged and she explained she had to get her manager to approve. The manager of the Hyannis Paper Store was EXTREMELY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and showed no compassion. She kept insisting that the charge was pending and that the company did not really charge me for the purchase. I reiterated multiple times to her that money was taken out of my account and there are no pending charges. I offered to show her my account transaction and she refused to look. She kept arguing with me and told me she can't give me my items that I purchased. I asked her for a refund. She told me I can't have a refund. I asked how we would solve this problem. She did not have a solution. She suggested I purchase the belongings again. I told her I can't afford to spend an additional $124. After 20 minutes of arguing with the manager while remaining calm, The cashier pulled the manager a side. The cashier allowed me to take me belongings. I hope corporate takes note of this and hires a capable store manager instead of the present one. I am still in shock. read more

Instead of politely asking me if there was some kind of tag left on an item, one of the workers rudely said "maybe there's something in your purse" with a terrible attitude. Huge gift and paper store stocked full of everything from clothes to cards to Christmas items. They have so many great things crammed into the store. Beautiful store, very bright and happy. It is not too easy to find next to Verizon and a hair salon. It is on the more expensive side, but the selection of items is phenomenal. There are a lot of salespeople to assist you and you do need assistance in there. It is not too easy finding stuff in the store. I can't even begin to list everything they sell. My husband and I took our grandchildren to the Paper Store in Rochester, NH. Associates greeted us warmly, and both kids picked out something. We had a coupon. My granddaughter picked out a necklace. We asked an associate is the coupon would apply. She said yes. Once we attempted to pay another associate started speaking to us very rudely. She told my husband to get in one line, then she yelled at him to get in another line. She yelled that the coupon did not apply to the necklace. (Frankly, she was rude and loud the whole time we were there). We told her the other associate (who was training new associates at the time) told us the coupon was good. The rude woman loudly told us "she's new". We did not buy the necklace, and will probably never set foot in that store, and I asked my family to never buy me anything from that store again. I would have asked to speak with the manager, but we all had had enough, and I suspect the loud, rude person was the manager. read more
