As soon as I went into the leasing office I was greatly welcomed by vanessa. She made me feel like I was home already. She was very attentive to what I was looking for. This is my first time moving into an apartment so I had many questions and she answered them all. She is a very understanding person with a great personality. She made me feel welcomed. She helped me out throughout the whole process and was eager to show me the units. The place looks very spacious and they have great pricing. It changes daily so you have to check, luckily I was able to get a good price on my 1 bed 1 bath. I was approved and now I'm counting the days to live there. I have checked over 30 different apartments and this was the only one I felt very welcomed. And the best part is they are super dog friendly. Later on I found mold spreading in living room and kitchen. They came to fix. V in the office is very helpful and fast responses. They sprayed chemical stuffs on the wall and repainted it. They changed a/c unit and clean the duct also. I went on vacation during Christmas and new year. When I came back I found mold around refrigerator and cabinets. I informed the office. I had to wait for Mindy (V's boss) to come back from vacay to make decision because I want to transfer to other room or terminate the contract. Money came back on January 8, 2020. She cannot make decision and passed me to her boss, Sarah. Sarah called me while I was at work. She told me that "it is my responsibility to clean mold in the kitchen just like I clean my bathroom. Mold in the kitchen is common in Southern Florida". I couldn't believe what I heard so I asked all my coworkers if it is common around here to have mold developing in the kitchen? They all said "NO". Sarah refuses to transfer or terminate my contract. Be aware if you are planning to move to this apartment. It is very old and mold could be a big problem. I will record everything and keep fighting until I can get out of this apartment without penalty. I hope Sarah' family (children or grandchildren) doesn't have to go through this problem like me. Not only is the community new and pristine, but the staff is also very professional and accommodating. In my preliminary search, I spoke directly with Elsie in the leasing office many times. Elsie was also patient and courteous during these phone calls, and she also followed up with me when she said she would. When I decided to lease an apartment, Elsie made the paperwork process easy and quick. She never acted bothered by my questions, and took the time to explain all pertinent details to me. Up to this point, I have been very pleased with the quality of service that I have received. To comment on the actual apartments, they are well built and have high end appliances. I have viewed other complexes in the area, and do not believe they are as nice as Town University. If you are searching for a new apartment, I would highly recommend that you go speak to Elsie in the leasing office before going anywhere else.

When we first started hunting for apartments, we had viewed many of the high-end rentals in downtown FLL but were pretty disappointed with our options. Many were clearly lacking in community, some had a weird "college bro" vibe, and others were missing that modern style and charm we wanted. However, we were pleasantly shocked when we discovered the Metropolitan. We knew right away we could call this place "home". Living at the Metropolitan has exceeded our expectations, and we love it here! The entire complex is *brand new*. The facilities and amenities (pool, gym, grills, park, etc) are high quality, in pristine condition and well-maintained. The units themselves are gorgeous with brand-new appliances, spacious open floorplans, and modern/minimalistic design. The staff are so professional, friendly and responsive. I love that they make a real effort to know all of their residents (I think they know everyone's names!). Also, they always host free community events for residents which are awesome (cocktails by the pool on Sundays, sushi night, paella night, food truck night, etc to name a few). I remember they took incredible care of the residents especially during Hurricane Irma, and were so communicative with updates to evacuees. The location is terrific - walking distance from Wilton Dr., less than 10 mins drive to the beach, only 5 mins drive to major highways, and a short walk to the Alchemist and other great restaurants. Colohatchee Park is adjacent to the complex and a great place for a walk, to take your dog, or go kayaking/standup paddleboarding in Wilton Manors' canals. In short, there's a very good reason why they are always near 100% occupancy. People love it here!

I brought my elderly, disabled mother--who uses a walker and has dementia-- last week to tour an apartment to assess its accessibility. Despite providing my driver's license as her caregiver, the leasing agent demanded my mother's ID. I explained she doesn't have one due to her obvious disabilities, but the manager refused to let us view the property. The manager initially claimed it was a legal requirement. When I challenged this false statement and pointed out that it was discriminatory against disabled elderly persons, she abruptly changed her story and said it was now "company policy" not to allow anyone over 18 without an ID. I countered by explaining that I had toured at least 9 competing properties in the area, all of which accepted just my driver's license without issue. None of them demanded an ID from my mother, given her very visible disability and the fact that she could barely stand, even with a walker. Yet The Metropolitan refused to make any accommodation. This company's behavior was uniquely cruel and highlights their blatant discrimination against disabled elderly persons. Their lack of compassion or willingness to accommodate someone with obvious physical limitations is disgraceful. If you or a loved one have special needs, avoid this place at all costs--they clearly have no interest in treating people with dignity or respect.
